Best Chicken Taco ever invented. Challenge me on this and try it out!!!

This has been my secret spot for so long. So keep it between you and me OK. It's in Vallejo in a hidden corner with a short drive thru. Doesn't look much from the outside but this place is always my go to, when I visit my high school friend E-40. I just bought eight tacos with sour cream and eating it as I'm driving. I'm also writing this as I'm driving too. I know, I know, you're saying ' Paul you an idiot you're going to get into a accidennnnadkfootijejejsnnxskkakmmak&$@i

I had these a few times delivered to work and it has always been great. Fall off the bone and delicious Mexican style rotisserie chicken. I came in person for lunch today and had the French bread, slaw and potato salad as sides and wow that was great. Home style flavor in both potato salad and slaw was truly fantastic. 4.5 in the food but there was a bit of a smell coming out of the kitchen which turned me off so 3 in that, rest rooms are ok and place could use a refresh of paint and just remodel so for sure I will get it to go from now on. Agua de Orchata was nice and not too sweet, service was good and even though they where very busy I got food very fast.

Chicken express is supposed to be all the rave, maybe I had a one off..? Came here for the loads of cheese I've seen from other reviews and asked for extra on my tacos, whatcha see is what I got. Wife ordered the Taco salad and said it wasn't anything special. I'll tell you what tho, if they can throw some of that extra cheese on this stuff, I could be a regular and wait in that line that seems to always be wrapped around the building. I'll try it again to update, but it probably won't be for a while or at least until I forget about the lack of cheese I received.

I ordered their Chicken Nacho Fries and Carne Asada Fries, both topped with shredded cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, and green onion. I also opted to add guacamole for an additional fee--and it was definitely worth it! The ingredients taste incredibly fresh, and I'm always left feeling satisfied after eating here. The customer service is another highlight; the staff are always friendly and accommodating, which makes the overall experience even better. It definitely makes me want to come back and try more of their menu!

Over the years, I've watched this place go through a few upgrades. One of the biggest changes is the menu that used to be painted on the wall is now displayed on digital display. It looks pretty cool, although I do miss the old painted menu because it was part of what I remembered about this place. But with prices changing over the years, I can definitely understand why going digital makes more sense than having to repaint the wall every time something changes. Prices have gone up over the years too, but that's understandable. One thing that hasn't changed is the service. The staff has always been nice, welcoming, and hospitable. I've never had any problems with the customer service here. This time I ordered a super burrito and two street tacos. Taco Jalisco has always had some of my favorite carne asada. The steak is flavorful and honestly some of the best carne asada I've had in a Mexican dish. The street tacos were simple and good. Carne Asada and chicken with , cilantro, onions, and their hot sauce on top. And I have to mention their hot sauce! It has been one of my favorite things about Taco Jalisco for years. It adds so much flavor without taking away from the food. The super burrito was good too, although it was on the smaller side compared to super burritos I've gotten at other places. Still, the flavor was there. The seasoned steak, rice, and house sauce all blend together really well. Their rice especially seems to soak up some of that sauce, and when you get everything together in one bite, it makes for a really flavorful burrito. After 20 years, Taco Jalisco is still one of my favorite places in Vallejo to grab a burrito and some tacos. I wouldn't necessarily call it the best anymore, especially with so many other good Mexican spots around Vallejo now, but it will always be one of my favorites and a place I'll continue coming back to.

My favorite was their chicken tinga, which reminded me of the chicken burritos I used to get back in my hometown across the bridge. I immediately told myself I'd have to come back and order a chicken tinga burrito. A few weeks later, I finally returned on a Sunday while they were serving their World Cup Sunday brunch. I ordered a chicken tinga super burrito and a California burrito to take home. I was really excited to dig in, but when I opened the bag, the "super" burrito looked more like a regular burrito. The flavors were still great, but the filling was disappointing. There was barely any chicken or sour cream, and I had to eat more than halfway through before I finally got a decent balance of meat, rice, and beans. I even had to add my own sour cream because there was so little inside. As for the California burrito, it was just okay. The fries were stale, and there wasn't enough sour cream or guacamole, which made the burrito pretty dry. It honestly reminded me more of a breakfast burrito than a California burrito, and I wasn't a fan. Overall, the flavors are definitely there, and it's clear the food has potential. However, the portions felt skimpy for the price, making the burritos feel overpriced. I'll give Sol y Sazon another chance because I know they're capable of making delicious food, but if my next experience is like this one, they'll likely lose me as a customer.

The line was considerably long around 7:30 p.m. so it took a while for us to order and receive our food. I like that the tacos here are single tortilla -- as opposed to double tortillas, so the filling to tortilla ratio feels a lot more balanced. For both tacos, the meat is incredibly tender and flavorful. Although a bunch of sauces and garnishes are provided, the taco was good enough on its own. Of the sauces we received, my favorites to add was a squeeze of lime and the red sauce, which had a nice smokey Chipotle flavor and wasn't overly spicy. My friend ordered a quesadilla and it was absolutely massive! I definitely would only recommending ordering a quesadilla if you're sharing it, or if you're coming with a massive appetite. Overall, Tacos El Sazón Oaxaqueño was a nice gem we randomly stumbled upon while routing to In-N-Out for burgers. Between the two, I would certainly save my stomach space for tacos from Tacos El Sazón Oaxaqueño next time.

Parking is a little tricky because so many people pack into the tiny lot. Plenty of different meats to choose from if you're craving tacos. But they have plenty of alternatives if you aren't feeling like tacos. I ended up getting Al Pastor, Asada, and Suadero. Suadero was okay but the Al Pastor was amazing. I lived in San Diego and I've had a hard time finding good pastor since I moved back. Freshly sliced with slice of pineapple was perfect! They have all the fixings in bins with tongs for you to pack in sandwich bags they have available. Only thing is, it seems like kind of a roll of the dice from a food safety standpoint, but hey, "street" tacos aMiRiTe? Haha. Overall fast service, great tacos. Especially for the price of $4/taco. I'd give it five stars but had to knock it down for the food safety aspect.
