I ordered the Bootmaker Cheesesteak, and my wife got the Rueben. The food was very good. I don't know what they do to the steak fries, but they were great. The sandwiches were also great. Perfect for large parties! Our soccer team is in town for a tournament, and we needed a place that could accommodate 40 people. JJ Mahoney's took our reservation the same day, and everything was set up for us when we arrived. The service was great too, and everyone enjoyed their food. Super fun, accommodating and easy. What a horrible experience. There is much potential here but not when they serve you tainted meat that will give you food poisoning. My stomach was wrecked that night and the next morning from the sausage roll appetizer I ate. That being the one thing I ate that evening I can confidently say that the meat was to blame. Ok, first let's talk about service and ambience. Mahoney' service was above the best. As well as the building and seating. Well spacious and very friendly. Service was was fast and continuous. Sometimes we sit down and evaluate without feeling the responsibility that is incurred by our evaluation. So please understand that I take this evaluation seriously and with that said, JJ Mahoney's is a place that I highly recommend because it makes me feel at home while eating some great food. Now as I speak about food I think that there are a lot of great places with very good food. But compare the out come and it is clear. J J Mahoney's cooks are about the best as are some other place but what seats J J's for the other is the quality of the food before it is handle by the chief. I recently came in to have a drink and kill some time, I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised at how well run and on top of it the staff was. Super friendly, and attentive! I sat at the bar and was able to meet their manager Ember, she rocks and you can tell she's the one behind the well oiled machine, constantly checking in with the workers and giving support to staff where ever needed. Saw a sign for breakfast on weekends so decided to try it out because the normal breakfast places in town were very crowded. Walked in and were greeted to sit anywhere. Not many people in the restaurant. Took a few minutes to be approached by a waitperson. We all ordered water and I also ordered hot tea. Only hot tea came for me. Menu very limited and no real significant options w/o meat. We ordered 2 corned beef/ hash and one veggie omelette. The corned beef hash was a bit small for $10.50 and was not a traditional dish as it had scrambled eggs and country potatoes as the hash. Was tasty but not filling. The omelette did not have the veggies incorporated in the omelette but was placed in after the eggs were cooked. The omelette was tasty. None of the meals came with toast. Service was average. In my opinion they need to step up their breakfast offerings routine or stop serving breakfast. read more

Went in yesterday to have a beer and grab dinner by myself and hopefully catch the first half of the NBA game that was on. The restaurant was moderately busy, but not packed. I sat there for about 10 minutes during which the bartender (who was closing checks and clearing tables) basically ignored me and made extreme efforts to avoid eye contact... that was enough for me. If you do not have the common courtesy to acknowledge someone's presence, especially after walking by them no less than 5 times, I couldn't expect to have a good experience there, so I left. read more

Went along on a Saturday afternoon and was very disappointed. The service was extremely slow and unfriendly and needed us to wave at the waitress several times to get her attention. Been here several times. I love that the waitress ususally asks if I want a tall glass for my cocktail or a shorty. TALL!! I think I've had most of the appetizers and they are all quite good. The dip was good. The Sheppard's Pie was good, but seemed to be missing something... I think I just needed to salt it a bit more, but still very good. Love to stop here before a movie. Great pub food and a great place to go for lunch or before heading to the theater. It can get crowded on game night and trivia night, but it is worth the wait. They have a good, balanced menu and don't hesitate to tweak your order. In general, the waiters are excellent and the atmosphere is fun and family friendly. We like having access to the free WiFi and the huge TV's are a big attraction on game day - no matter what sport you like. read more

I love this place. We went here every Sunday for a year and we love the happy hour prices. The service is great, our waitress was friendly and fun. The food is as good as it can at a pub. The place is very clean and lots of seating. TV's hang around the place so going for a football game is always fun. The parking lot is huge so parking is never a problem. Went with a group last night for drinks and dinner before seeing a movie. My boyfriend and I were sat at a 6 top as we were waiting for others to arrive. After (at least) 15 minutes had gone by of being completely ignored and watching seemingly everyone else around us being helped, we asked the girl who had sat us if we could order drinks and some food. She was nice but clearly not meant to be our server and made that obvious. We ordered and were brought what we had ordered in a somewhat timely manner. However we still had not a single person come to our table to greet us, maybe even say "I'll be right with you". It was as if we had been sat at a table that was not assigned to any of the servers. It was clear that they knew we were there as we were right next to a server station, but not a single one of them gave us the time of day. The rest of our party arrived and still we had to track someone down to get their drinks ordered. Instead of anyone at all asking how we were doing and if anyone would like another beer, etc., we had to ask the girl who originally sat us for another beer and then to close out, as well as to add movie tickets to each of our orders. She acted obviously annoyed by this and it seemed as though we were an inconvenience to her. I have been to JJ's multiple times and never had that terrible of service there in the past, I've always had a good experience....but last night was kind of ridiculous. During our entire time there (roughly an hour and a half or so) not once did we have a server come up to us (other than to say hi to one of the girls in our party) to help with anything. We probably would've ordered more drinks and possibly food had we actually been shown attention. Despite coming here often enough and loving their trivia nights, I'm not a fan of their food at all. I've been disappointed with everything I've ordered on the menu (never gotten the same thing twice). The portions are very large, the food is very much greasy bar food. But the prices aren't worth the quality of food you get. If you want to eat, try elsewhere. Otherwise, it's a good place to stop in for drinks with friends. The staff here is so fun and friendly, food is tasty and not a bad price. Big plus if you are going out to see a movie; they have discount tickets if you spend more than $10! My husband and I stopped here for lunch recently. We sat at a small table, directly left of the bar. One of the pub regulars was seated at the bar near us, and kept on about how great the food was. He highly recommended we try one of their burgers, offered with "special sauces". So, my husband ordered one of the burgers, and I had the fish and chips. Our food was extremely disappointing, to say the least. My husband's burger literally fell apart from the bottom. His plate had been sitting for so long, wherever it was after cooking, that the juices and/or grease had ruined the bun. On top of that, his food was cold, including their "famous fries". My fish was frozen - and I mean frozen -, still stone cold in the center when served. When my husband asked for the "special sauces" for his burger, our served looked over to the pub regular, and gave him the dirtiest look. After several minutes, she came back with the sauces, and very reluctantly pulled out the malt vinegar I'd been asking for since our lunch began. Our server was completely uncaring, and never once stopped by the table to see how we were doing. The ONLY REASON I'm giving JJ Mahoney's 2 stars, is that our glasses of Guinness were poured properly. There are so many other really good places to enjoy a meal; Coho (in the same parking lot); Sages, British Pantry, Village Square Cafe, Tropea, etc., all within a very small radius of downtown Redmond. Also, many great eateries in Redmond Town Center filled with staff who not only know how to prepare simple, honest food, but who enjoy AND appreciate their customers. read more

Paul, your comment is not only inaccurate, but condescending which explains why many of these reviews talk about poor customer service. It makes sense that is comes from the top down. I did stay around. The beer was delivered and I was told the game couldn't be found. The channel had been changed to ESPN 2, but quickly changed to a different channel. In fairness, the game wasn't on ESPN 2 when the channel was changed, it was a few minutes away. When the server came back I pulled up ESPN's schedule and showed it was on ESPN 2 and was told, no we already looked. At this point I requested a check, PAID for the beer I didn't drink and left. It wasn't the fact that an attempt wasn't made that I felt the service was bad, it was that after it had been unsuccessful initially, that was it. I was just told no, it wasn't on. It was on ESPN 2 and we enjoyed it at another establishment with much better service, that doesn't have an owner giving snarky, false responses on negative reviews! read more
