Wow... I cannot believe how much Baracos has gone downhill. We've been going there once or twice a week for the past year because we liked the place, but the last couple of months have been one disappointment after another. The last visit we waited 45 minutes for a hamburger and mac and cheese bites while there were only 4 tables occupied. The hostess experience has become TERRIBLE. We've gone at different times, different days, and somehow it always feels like asking for a normal table in the dining area turns into a negotiation. We don't want the noisy booth area with TVs blasting in our faces. We want to sit in the actual restaurant section and have a peaceful dinner. Why does that feel like asking for VIP treatment? Am I supposed to be royalty to sit at a table? Then the explanation is always: "We're understaffed." I'm sorry, but after hearing the same thing over and over while looking around at a mostly empty restaurant, it starts sounding less like an explanation and more like an excuse. The sad part is that this isn't coming from someone who visited once and had a bad day. We've probably gone there 25-30 times this past year and that's exactly why this is so disappointing.... When you keep giving a place chance after chance and somehow things just keep getting worse, eventually you stop making excuses for it. I am extremely disappointed with the service my family received on June 29th, 2026, at approximately 4:30pm at the 111th Street location. From the moment we were seated, we felt that we were treated differently than other customers. We were never greeted with a friendly "Hello" or "How are you?" as other tables were. We also noticed that nearby tables received complimentary bread while our table did not. Our server took an unusually long time to acknowledge us, and the wait to place our order was so excessive that another employee stepped in and said she would take our order until our assigned server arrived. Based on the way we were treated compared to other guests, we left feeling that race played a role in the poor service we experienced. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect and equally. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to any of their locations. read more

Dined in on 6-9-26, had two things, Mostaccioli was good, Francaise was soggy with no flavor, sent it back, grilled it a little, still below expectations. Took it to go, asked for manager , not for refund, just to inform about the soggy food. Manager Carly showed up angry, failed to identify herself, I had to ask who she was, she was unprofessional ,made it clear the Francaise was made "the Barracos way", said it 3 times and said you shouldn't order it again. Been going there for years, no need to go back. Maybe find a manager with people skills, who knows how to communicate. My ticket # was 259. I'm not rating this good or bad - just stating a fact. They do not have a children's price for the lunch buffet. Even a toddler will pay the full price. When I asked about this because my daughter is literally 1.5 years old I was told, you won't find a cheaper buffet in the area. That was followed up with - they can't have children's prices cause where would the cut off be? I don't know? Literally any where you want to cut it off? Three, five, ten, twelve years old? Whatever you want. So even though they wanted to charge a one year old $13.99, the buffet food was good. The chicken was excellent, but the fries were cold. 3.9. This review is based on ordering after hours. It's between 1am-5am on the south side and you want something other than burgers, hotdogs and any fast food chain. Solely for takeout. The wings, pasta, calamari and beef(forgot my cheese) were good. The burger(medium) was ok. The Parmesan garlic fries were great. An overload of Parmesan on the fries did it for me. Loved them. I look forward to trying more items on the menu that would boost this to the 4th level of stars. Overall a 24/7 place like this where you can get dinner dishes at 4am is good in my book. We drove out of our way for dinner based on the posted business hours, only to find that the restaurant was closed to the public due to a private event. We understand private parties happen, but there was no notice on the website or online listings before we arrived. A simple update on the website, social media, or Google listing would have saved customers a wasted trip. Hopefully they improve communication regarding private events in the future. read more

What is it on 95th Street? They have great restaurants.... We usually order from Palermo's which they are on my top 10 but barracos is not far behind... I have to tell you one thing I absolutely love and it's something as simple as the bread that is served in the beginning with their seasoned olive oil is out of this world..... It was a beginning of a great start with our meal. We started off with a pizza which was delicious but we were to full to truly enjoy the Alfredo and lasagna that we had ordered, but we certainly did take it home to have another meal....... The server we had was very friendly and efficient....... The only issue that I came across was when we walked in there was nobody up in the front. It just is a total surprise when I see a bad review of our favorite place to eat. My wife and I eat either breakfast, lunch or dinner here at least 4 times a week and the food is so good. Today 7/10/26 this will be our 12th day in a row eating at the Barraco`s in Evergreen Park,Il.We love the thin crust pizza but today we will stop in for Breakfast which is our favorite place for Breakfast. For lunch a great choice would be the all you can eat buffet with salad and a lot of entrees like fried chicken,pizza,meatballs.Italian beef, sausage and peppers,macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes etc.for a cheap price of 13.99 you will walk out saying to yourself the food here is excellent .My wife`s favorite dish is either the lasagna or the broasted chicken and my two favorites are the salmon or the griilled chicken on a pretzel bun. They are open 24 hours a day for take out and delivery but you should call 708-424-8182 for additional info as some days they might not have the buffet because of some other event going on in the dining room.The wait staff is very good and the dining area is very nice and you should call because they do have other locations which might be closer to you. read more

My review is for Barraco's on 111th St. near Kedzie in Chicago. This was my third time at this location. The first time I was with a big gentleman, probably 6"5". I don't know if this had something to do with it but we treated very well that day. The food was excellent so I decided to bring my daughter there. When we got there, we were told there was an event and we could not be seated. Mind you there were plenty of seats so I don't know where the event was taking place. There was no sign on the door or no sign inside. The young lady was very rude and did not apologize or try to accommodate us. We left. We didn't feel good about how we were treated so we called and asked if we could make reservations. Again, we were told that there was an event going on and there were no seats. That was acceptable except again she was kind of rude. Today, 6/29/2026 I decided to try this place again because the food was so good. Of course my daughter didn't want to go, but she decided to give them another chance. When we got there the person seating us didn't acknowledge us other than looking at us and saying table for three and set us down. When we were seated, we were told that the waitress would be there soon. We told the young lady that we already knew what we wanted to order because we had looked at the menu online. She said she was not the waitress, but she would get us something to drink . She also asked if we wanted super salad. This was about 4:25 PM at almost 5:00 PM. We still hadn't gotten waited on. Mind you, we were the only ones in the restaurant. This young lady didn't say hi, didn't introduce herself and never said you're welcome when we clearly said thank you multiple times. They never brought us bread. I just assumed they didn't have it until they brought bread to the other table. She brought my coffee out and said it was extremely hot and to be careful. I appreciated this, but when I began to drink the coffee, it was just warm. I asked her if she could nuke it because once I put the cream in, it would be cold. She said that wasn't possible that was the way it came out of the machine. she asked if I wanted another cup I said I would wait until the next cup. She never brought out more coffee, even though my cup was empty for a bit. I asked if I could have more coffee which she brought out. Please note, we still hadn't seen our waiter or waitress. There were only two place settings at the table. I had to ask for another one, even though there were three of us. We waited so long I decided we would cancel our order and leave. As I was digging in my purse to try to find some money to at least pay for the coffee and the service that we did get the food finally arrived. This is the first time we even met the waitress. No hello, no thanking us for waiting. Each of us said thank you and she never said you're welcome. I felt kind of bad because my 11 year-old granddaughter was with us and we teach her better than that. She actually said thank you, and the waitress never responded. The food was good as usual, but the service was not. We watched others get waited on quicker. I don't like saying this, but each time, out of the three times that we've gone to the 111th St. Location, we were treated like less than anyone else there...like we didn't belong there. Again, I felt bad because my granddaughter had to experience racism firsthand. I'm not talking about something I don't know because I gave them multiple chances to get it right. In my opinion, if you are of color you don't want to frequent this restaurant. I can't speak for the other locations, but because it's a family owned business I can't imagine it being any different. Unfortunately, racism still exists. I felt less than everyone there, even though my money spends the same. I wonder what you teach your children. You don't need to worry, we will no longer spend our money with you. And I pray that you think about this because God does not see color or financial status. Good gluten free pizza is hard to find....but I can stop looking. Barracos pizza is darn good. The crust is crisp and the toppings are so fresh. Really cannot tell that it's GF. Knocking off a star because the middle of the pizza is always stuck to the cardboard and barely edible. I took a bite of the regular pizza and it's delicious as well. Also a big deal to me that they offer shrimp as a premium topping. Hoping to dine in one day as I've only gotten carryout. Pizza here is pricey but worth it for GF! read more

You know how some people say LaCroix tastes like the flavor is SUPPOSED to be there? That's how Barraco's pizza is. The pizza was fresh, hot, and looked delicious. It just had no taste. First time in my life I've experienced such craziness. The wings were very good though. The drink Johnnie and Ginger (beer) was okay. I'm particular about cocktails and don't understand why certain restaurants serve them in glass cups. Does this look like a Pepsi? Service is okay. I don't even remember the male waiter's name. The TVs in the dining area had no volume. The ambience aims to be a classy restaurant, especially with this dress code sign in front, black table cloth and pricey pasta, but it's not and I won't act like it is. The Answer was NO! Wait! What? We were told "Management Policy". Again, we have made this request in the past with no issue. It was a directive from the manager on staff today to the waitress? Zeros all across the board bc when we went in, waiting to be seated we were ignored. The bartender (a female) did a hand signal like "nah". We didn't know what that meant and when I went to ask what was happening, she said they are not seating anymore. Very rude and gave me serious racist vibes. The waitress was rude she got my order wrong spoke with the manager informed him my order was incorrect he than bought me the correct order and it had hair in it I was pulling the hair out of my mouth as if it was cheese( yuk) my friend could not believe when she saw me pulling a long piece of hair out of my mouth attached to my food. Walked in here just a little while ago to have a few drinks, but had to leave because we felt unwelcome. We were told that we couldn't put four chairs together at the bar because they had to keep a section open for regulars. What kind of mess is that? As we look around there are a lot of seats; she's like it's reserved for a party (they're not even here yet). At any rate, host was like no, we can't use those chairs, but you can take a booth. Been ordering from Barracos for several years. Not sure what going on but the quality is not there any more. I have had over cooked macaroni bite, missing marinari sauce etc. On August 22, I order 2 pizzas at around 6pm. They said it would take approximately 1 hour for delivery. That is the usual time we expect. They were ringing my door bell within 13 minutes. Did not recognize the number at first. Pizza felt warm up on delivery. Not paying attention at first, my family was not eating the pizza the way they normally would. I normally do not complain, but I am offended that the pizza came so quick. It was dry, no flavor. The first time I've actually wasted my $65. I ended up throwing away 3/4 of each pizza. No one even wanted the leftovers. read more

I've had food from here many times before, but overall I would say that the in person experience adds so much more of a wow factor than just ordering and delivering/picking up. Don't get me wrong, the food is good regardless, but the time I went in person was much more ideal than spending a delivery fee. The environment was clean, well spaced, and it had a very calming and home like atmosphere. I was sat down by a very nice lady, but I honestly believe that she was the manager. They may have been understaffed, but I'm not 100% sure; nevertheless, the service was still great, and the food arrived quickly after it was ordered. We were checked in on, asked about our well-being, and treated with the upmost respect. I mean, it's truly all the courteous things a host should do. I got the fettuccine alfredo, and it was so creamy and delicious. Though I did not take a photo (apologies), I can promise you that the flavors and the spices used really made the dish (not to mention to nice presentation). I usually get their regular cheese pizza delivered (thin crust, plain cheese cut into squares), but I wanted to try something new. I was a loyal customer during covid. At 1 of my visits the server "forgot" to return my VIP Black card I was given during covid. Since, no one is on the same page.
