Browsed through Yelp to find a trusted plumber and was fortunate to find Jeremy on his Yelp page. I had previously been overwhelmed by all the searches for larger plumbing companies and the lack of communication from requesting quotes and scope of service. I've always done most of the repairs around my home but some jobs have significantly more risk than reward, such as replacing a toilet wax ring (in which I was certain I would botch if attempting on my own). JBL had recent positive reviews and also immediately responded to my request for a quote through Yelp (and he shared possible additional costs for issues that he may encounter). His pricing was very reasonable, and we were able to book an appointment on the same week. After receiving service and seeing his workmanship, I can definitely recommend his service to those looking for a plumber! He helped replaced two toilet wax rings and ensured that I was able to see the progress of the repairs, such as showing the broken wax rings, which is a level of transparency that I can truly appreciate. One of the toilets even had roots growing around the flange but I wasn't charged extra because he shared it was not too challenging to remove. Called around for various price quotes on doing a quick flush of my tankless system and Jeremy provided the best quote. Phone call was quick and no fluff just his quote and some questions about the system. Set up an appointment via text and he came out promptly and as noted in his text to me. He answered my questions and got to work, no upselling. About an hour later he finished up and I paid. His price was fair for the amount of work that was done vs the quoting me significantly higher costs for a fairly simple job that doesn't require a lot of manual labor. Just set and forget for an hour. Overall, the important things was that he was fair, honest, and reliable. Can't ask for more than that. read more

Great work and excellent communication. Contacted Jeremy on a Sunday to get a quote for adding a natural gas T on an existing line to feed a generator. He texted back almost immediately and was able to come out the next day to look at the pipe and provide the estimate. His estimate was hundreds less than some other plumbers I contacted. It took me several days to get all my estimates and choose JLB. Once I did, Jeremy again responded immediately, answered my questions and booked me for a Friday install (and apologized if that wasn't soon enough and I needed to choose someone else, which I didn't). On Thursday I got a text saying that his job on Friday ended up adding a bunch of requirements he wasn't expecting, and he offered to come out that day instead. Since it was an outdoor job, there was no issue with me not being home, so I agreed. Jeremy sent photos of the parts he was planning on using and the layout of how everything would look. He also sent pictures of the job progress and the completed job. Since he had to come a day early, my quick disconnect had not yet arrived, so Jeremy left the 1/2" pipe ready for me including Teflon tape and pipe dope making it super easy to attach once it arrived. And best of all - the final price was $5 less than his estimate! read more

This was our second time hiring Jeremy. This time was to replace our water heater. He replied to my texts quickly, and we got an appointment set up for the following week. Just like the previous time we had him out to our house, he arrived when he said he would, and got straight to work. He explained what he would be doing, and about how long he estimated it to take. He kept me updated when updates were needed, and he finished the job pretty much when he said he would. As with our previous job, he cleaned up well, and left his work area spotless. The new water heater is working as it should. He even replaced some of the old valves and pipes that were corroded. We should be set for many years now! Update: We had no issue with Jeremy's services. He responded to our request promptly and the service charge was fair. As long as you don't move forward with his referral - King Restoration, I'd still recommend choosing JLB Plumbing for your plumbing needs. Our family had a broken drain so I looked up Yelp and hired Jeremy. We expressed concerns with water damage, so Jeremy referred us to a damage restoration company called King Restoration. He told us that he had been working with them for a really long time, so we trusted Jeremy and called this company after Jeremy had left. I usually don't think it's fair to blame someone for referring a bad business, but in this case, I do think it's necessary to warn every homeowner about their very suspicious practices. Here's why: King Restoration told us they'd come out the same day to give us a "free estimate". We had concerns about insurance coverage on fixing the water damage, but King Restoration reassured us that "depending on how 'the plumber' (aka Jeremy) writes the report, the homeowner insurance should cover the entire bill". King Restoration also warned us that the insurance would deny our claim if we don't act immediately (which we later learned none of it was true). I attempted to look up King Restoration in Laguna Niguel online but found zero information (no info, no review and fake business address). Even with this huge red flag, my family signed the contract due to fear of financial loss and trust in Jeremy's referral. The next day we consulted with our lawyer and realized this could be insurance fraud and those guys are just con artists. We reached out to King Restoration and requested more explanation, and they said they would have their manager call us back. But sketchy enough, we got a call back from Jeremy right after instead of the manager. Jeremy checked in with us to see if we had any questions about the insurance coverage and reassured us that he had been working with this company for many years. At this point our intuition is telling us that this whole thing is not legit, so we canceled the contract the next day with King Restoration, which btw was legal. In the end they have the audacity to send me a nearly $1,000 bill for a "free estimate" and lending us a dehumidifier, which an identical unit from home deport only rents $62 per day. Again we had no issue with Jeremy's plumbing work, but this whole thing had left a bad taste in my mouth and we're still very upset about this whole situation. It's unacceptable to take advantage of someone's misfortunate and go along with fraudulent practices. I hope Jeremy keep up with his promise to stop working with King Restoration. read more
