I called Pride Mechanical on Sunday and left a message on their non emergency voicemail. They called me first thing Monday morning, and we set up an appointment for a timeframe that worked with my fairly busy schedule for that day. Really convenient. Got a text saying they were on their way about 5 minutes after the 3 hour appointment window started. They were at my home in like 20 minutes after receiving the text. The inside of my house was kind of messy, but they didn't even need to come inside. They were able to go straight to my units and start their diagnostics less than 3 minutes after arriving at my home. Within about 15 minutes they had successfully figured out and fixed the problem. I could not have asked for a better experience. I was very grateful and impressed. The technicians were polite, friendly (and not aggressively friendly if you know what I mean), and did a great job discussing my HVAC system and answering my questions without getting overly technical or insulting my intelligence by being overly basic. As AC repair experiences go, this was the best I've ever had. The speed of service and professionalism was first class all the way.

Very Disappointed with Virginia Breeze HVAC…read more Unfortunately, my experience with Virginia Breeze HVAC was extremely disappointing. Virginia Breeze came to my home on July 31 to repair my A/C. I paid an additional $200 to have the water pan and condensation line cleared. Unfortunately, my A/C system went down again on August 12, less than two weeks later. I contacted my home warranty company, and they placed a new service order with Virginia Breeze because the original service was less than 30 days prior. I personally texted the Virginia Breeze representative and attempted to call, but received no response. I waited until the following Monday, when my home warranty company contacted Virginia Breeze while I was on the phone. I was told that I was already scheduled for service. However, I explained that no one from Virginia Breeze had contacted me to schedule an appointment. I was willing to give them until Tuesday, but by Wednesday I still had not received a call, text, or any communication from Virginia Breeze. As a result, I suffered in a home that was over 90 degrees for almost two weeks. At that point, I was given the option to have another contractor come out. The new contractor inspected my system and identified a refrigerant leak. The contractor also told me that the water pan was full of water and was not draining, despite the fact that I had paid an additional $200 to have the pan and condensation line cleared. The representative had used my personal shop vac to perform that work. I wish I could receive a refund for the additional service charge I paid, since the new contractor found that the pan was still full and not draining. What was most disappointing to me was the lack of communication and urgency. Having no A/C during one of the hottest months of the year is not a minor inconvenience, especially when I had to endure temperatures above 90 degrees inside my home for nearly two weeks. I expected much more concern and follow-through from a company that had just serviced my system. I understand that HVAC issues can happen, but communication, customer service, and standing behind your work matter, especially when the system fails again within such a short period of time. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Virginia Breeze HVAC. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and improves its communication, workmanship, and customer service for future customers.

So far so good! I…read moreshopped around and had 5 companies come to my home and give me estimates. I needed two new HVAC units and I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. You'd think that having to blow (no pun intended) that much money these companies would be falling all over each other to get my business? Am I right or am I crazy? Anyhoo out of the 5, only two actually called me with estimates and explained the process...only two. Oh Hampton Roads c'mon you're better that that! Now remember, they all went to my home to see what needed to be done, but only 2 called me back with information. Anyway company #2 gave me a written estimate, and when I called with follow up questions they were less than helpful. Enter company #1 White Goods Services. Rusty (yep) called me and emailed me a lot of information, and even sweetened the pot a bit for me since I was on a tight time schedule. He was patient (I am stationed overseas and was flying home to oversee the install) with all my internet phone calls with more than likely dumb questions. But he wanted my business and explained it all in great detail to me. Even though at points during his phone calls my eyes did glaze over a bit, I mean explaining HVAC systems isn't exactly riveting like watching an Avengers movie...but I digress. Once at the home he came out with his crew (who by the way were the utmost professionals, going out of their way to make sure everything was perfect) and began the install. It took two days as this was a rather big job. Once it was done the house was cool, (pun intended) and all the new equipment was given a thorough inspection along with follow up visits to come. They taught us how to use the state of the art panels and climate controls, and bonus hey I can set the ac to freezing though an app on my cell phone just to mess with my tenants heads now..lol! They might think the house is haunted...But I wont. Out of all the companies Rusty and his team were not the least expensive, but they offered more bang for the buck in terms of service agreements and warranties. I have to say after dealing with this company I will always recommend them to anyone looking for honest HVAC repair or install. It was a quick turnaround and every bit of it went according to a plan Rusty laid out for me. No surprises, no added costs, I got exactly what I paid for. Really hope this reviews puts others on the right path to finding an honest HVAC company. I also hoping Rusty names his next horse after me, either way I am glad I called White Goods Services.
