We decided to contact JMV again after having a satisfied experience with them before. This time we needed our large tree trimmed down. The quote we received was high but we didn't fully understand why until we took notice of all the work involved. They didn't just trim the tree to the size and shape we wanted but also thinned it out by cutting away branches within the tree. We didn't realize it needed it until they were done. They got me on the schedule pretty soon after and were willing to do communication via email/through yelp which I appreciate since I don't like having to deal with phone calls as my toddler is screaming in the background. They got here promptly at 8 am and reviewed the job to be done. All interactions were masked too, which was appreciated. The crew was respectful and took care to not disturb the plants I have around the trees. I asked for them to leave the wood chips so I could use it as mulch and they made sure to leave it in a neat pile on my driveway. I had a jacaranda tree in my front yard that I wanted to cut down. Juan responded immediately and professionally to my request. He didn't even need to come out for an estimate, I just sent him a photo of the tree and he sent me an estimate (competitive, I had other trees cut down in the past and their estimate was almost half of what I had paid prior) and scheduled the job within 20 minutes on the day I had requested. Great communication with Juan and Jonathan through the entire process. They estimated 45 minutes to complete, but they were done in 20 minutes, including cleaning up the area so it was as if the tree or the crew were never there. This fast quote is significantly lower than the previous estimates. If any one talks to you a lot, describing this and that and how difficult it works, you are looking for much higher quotes. The team arrived in a couple of days and we watched them (another Juan as the lead) doing a professional and efficient team work to cut down a 50-ft tree. We also asked them to trim some trees around the house and they provided a reasonable quote on the site and they did it right after cutting down the tree. We had a tree split at the base of the trunk during all the recent wind storms and it was at risk of falling on our neighbor's house. I called Juan at JMV Tree Service at around 5:30pm explaining the situation and he was at my house within an hour to inspect and give a quote. We accepted their quote and at 8am the next day they had a crew of 12 people working to remove the tree. Keep in mind this was about a 90 foot pine that was teetering in the wind and these fearless workers were majestically climbing it with chainsaws, trimming as they went. Oh and it was also pouring down rain the entire day. Everyone in the crew was incredibly professional and they left the yard cleaner than when they got there. Our tree had a dead limb that fell off and was lying against the neighbors fence. I used yelp to get some estimates to have it removed and JMV Tree Service was the first one that responded. They came out within two hours to see what the tree look like that I needed to have removed. They made an appointment and three days later they came with a nice crew of about five guys and got the job done within an hour and a half to two hours, which was what they quoted on the estimate. Wow, I was really blown away by my experience with JMV! I got 6 different bids from various tree and landscaping companies and JMV's quote was very competitive, beating both some smaller shops and larger companies. I also appreciated the professionalism of our interactions and I really like how they had a written contract that they emailed to me that I could sign online. They were easy to schedule and they checked in before the work day to talk through the project one more time. We pruned one tree and removed four trees (on a steep hillside) and they brought out a big crew and got it done in one day! Everything was fantastic, Juan replied right away, showed up several days before any other services could even make an estimate, and had our tree pruned before the middle of the week. We had to get a neighboring tree pruned so that Comcast could access the cable, and after they pruned it, he followed up to let me know that he could send a crew out right away if comcast had any issues when they arrived.
