To be frank, when it comes to yard work I am completely clueless let alone how to remove a tree stump. I scavenged Yelp to find a tree service company that would not only get the job done right but also educate me on what needed to happen and what was the end result. Very happy with this company and all of their employees! They gave a competitive and fair price for the job (removal and grinding stumps of 6 big Redwoods and removal of 7 Italian Cypresses). And since I wanted them out ASAP, they even squeezed my job in over a couple weekends because they had other jobs already booked two weeks out during the week (it only took them 3 days to complete my job!). The communication with Juan was great and they arrived on time each day and were careful with the other plants, etc. that were in the way. When they were grinding one of the stumps down I mistakenly told them that it was low enough. I later found that it was not low enough for the landscape project we had planned. This is our second time calling JMV out to trim our trees, they were prompt, friendly, and professional. The quote process was smooth and they quickly adjusted the quote via email for a few changes we needed to make. On the day of, Tthey helped us move a few heavier furnishings that we couldn't move ourselves out of the way (we had not expected them to, and just covered them). When grinding a stump near our neighbor's property, they set up a barrier to protect the neighbor's vehicle. They cleaned the jobsite thoroughly and hauled everything away. It was a great pleasure and experience working with JMV. (First time removing a tree for my parents home) and second time today for my home. I worked closely with Juan who was very patient in working with me and my questions about pruning 6 trees around my home. He was very responsive and made sure I was content. I needed a tall Sweetgum tree in my backyard cut down with the stump grinded out. I posted the request on Yelp on a Monday, had about 10 tree companies respond back to me over the next couple of hours with a lot of sales talk and telling me to call them to make an appointment, but JMV Tree Service was actually the first company to get back to me with a response less than 5 minutes after I posted the request on Yelp. Then JMV Tree Service contacted me (instead of telling me to contact them) which told me they were the real deal and then they texted me directly to see if they could come by in 20 to 30 minutes. Juan was at my property about 20 minutes later - less than 2 hours after my initial Yelp posting - and he very quickly assessed the situation and was writing up an estimate right on the spot. I was impressed with his no-nonsense, get the job done work ethic. The quote to cut the Sweetgum tree down was so fair and reasonable that I didn't even bother contacting any other tree companies after that for estimates and I hired JMV Tree Service to do the job immediately. The whole contract was written up and signed electronically the same day which I thought was very convenient. They did not even ask me for a deposit - Juan told me that I would pay after the job was completed to my satisfaction, which I thought was great. I had the job scheduled 3 days after the estimate was signed by me and they arrived at the agreed upon date and time and got the job done in exactly the amount of time they said it would take. The onsite person in charge (Jonathan) was also very professional and easy to work with. When I asked Jonathan if I could have an additional two trees in my backyard trimmed back and added to the job, Jonathan was able to get that added onto the contract in a snap on his smartphone at a very reasonable price.
