I could have bought Banquet brand frozen tenders and cooked them in a microwave oven and dredged them in kraft hot chicken sauce and had a better result. Perhaps my expectations are different. I did not think this restaurant was all that great. First of all, if you want to order a "standard American breakfast" consisting of eggs, toast, potatoes and meat, it doesn't exist on the menu. The "Scrambles" on the menu are all piled on top of each other and they won't separate them. We finally cobbled together a breakfast starting with the kids menu of eggs and toast and then added ala carte items to make a full breakfast. And when it came, the quality was mixed. First, the eggs were overcooked. Second the toast was done on what I assume was a panini grill rather than a toaster, since it was compressed to about a quarter inch thick or less. Also, the toast was lukewarm and came without butter. When we did get butter, it didn't melt because the toast was not hot enough. The bacon was good, but thin. Most places I am used to have thick sliced bacon, but not here. On the up side, the French toast sticks were good. Also the coffee was excellent. The strawberry jam served with the toast was good as well. So, I can only give three stars on this one...OK, but not great. read more

We love this place. The food is so delicious and the coffee options are impressive. I love the not your mothers grilled cheese and got it a few times. Location- parking was easy and free for two hours. I will say- it was very cold inside when we visited. But the interior is so unique and I loved it. Overall- inside is very cute and antique vibe. If you're looking for a new breakfast spot this is the place. The ambiance is unique and quiet. It was full when we first arrived but within a few minutes we had a seat. There was a table for 6 people but there were only 2 people sitting there. They looked at the 4of us asked us if we wanted to join them at their table. They said they were regular guests and heard us talking about how it was our first time there. We thanked them and sat with them. We all ordered and the food was fantastic as well as delicious tasting. If you're in the area you must check this place out. You won't be disappointed. read more

Surprisingly, not as impressed as I thought I'd be. I was disappointed that we didn't like it more, with the raving reviews. It's a very casual atmosphere so don't expect a regular "sit down" restaurant. You order at the counter and find a table. There were 3 of us - I had the avocado toast, which was very good. The balsamic dressing is a little sweet but overall it was very fresh and tasty. The loaded breakfast burrito was loaded - mostly with eggs. If you didn't have the salsa, it would be very bland. Same with the breakfast tacos. The coffee was good, although I had the Fleetwood macaroon and I didn't taste coconut at all. My daughter had the Java the nut and really liked it. The thing that bothered me the most was that there were no clean tables and we had to ask to have a table cleaned. The staff was very friendly though. read more

I've been going for a few years when the name was Red Bicycle and now it' renamed Joanie's. Same owner and same food. I've eaten many things on the menu. Crepes, hamburgers, bagels, and more. All delicious. And the coffee is some of the best in town. I have coffee at local places all around and really like to come here. Also the employees are the nicest people! I've eaten at the Joanie's downtown twice now and the one on St. Andrews once. I prefer downtown because it's closer to me and I like the ambiance more--it's an old building on the Square. The service is good and the food comes out pretty quickly. I've yet to have anything I didn't like, and the people I've dined with have agreed theirs was tasty, too. I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't comment on that, but the food is very tasty and the servings are generous. read more
