DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING FRAMED HERE. After waiting for 13 weeks, numerous calls to check on status, and being told it would be done, it was NOT! It was one excuse after another of why our order had not been done yet. Needless to say, we took our things back and got a refund. Oh side note - framer is a Manager at the store. This store needs to receive, read and understand some customer service feedback. I purchased online (10038850253) and went to pick up thx next morning at 1030 am. 1. When you send a message "order ready" Include your phone number. Since I have to call you to get curbside delivery, make it easy for me. 2. List your hours. How hard can it be make a generic message that automatically is included in your "ready" text of email? 3. Post two or more parking stalls as "reserved for customer pick up" and put the phone number on it. 4. Since your entry is a distance from the parking lot, make a sign with your hours that is large enough to read from the first couple stalls. Read some of the complaints already posted and figure our how to resolve them. JoAnns has good fabric and craft materials. But, help the staff become more engaged so they problem solve issues for the customer. Ideas I've suggested are neither unique nor sophisticated, but anyone shopping in today's Covid environment can think of them. read more

I shop here pretty regularly and almost every time there is a long line with only a couple of registers open. I usually make sure I have plenty of time for this reason. The staff at the registers are usually very friendly. I feel bad for the staff who do show up to work as they are always overworked. I would think that if this is a consistent problem, the upper management would do something to make it a better shopping experience and employment experience. read more

For what seems like the millionth time, I left the store today without buying anything that was on my list. I even had a 40% off coupon AND a $ off my purchase coupon. Still nothing. This store drives me nuts. Let me count the ways: The sales are often misleading. For example, they'll have "All Papercrafting Products" on sale. Yet the scrapbooking adhesive from the scrapbooking aisle doesn't ring up at the sale price and the cashiers won't honor it. The line is too long and the cashiers are too slow. Many times, I have left my selection(s) on a shelf near the door and left without buying anything. I won't wait 20 minutes to give a store my money. I want a particular item and, although there's a peg with its name on it, the peg is empty. It was empty last week, the week before, and so on. Order more already! The staff can almost never be found on the sales floor helping the customers. On the rare occasion you can get one's attention, they're clueless. For example, I asked if they had a certain rubber stamp in stock. He scanned the barcode and said, "No, but we have two thousand of them at the Nampa store." Well, yeah, I'm sure they don't have 2,000 of them. Being that it's a fabric store, I'd guess it's 2 POINT 000 -- to account for fractions of a yard of fabric. *scream* I'm all about the deal, so I will probably continue to shop here for the bargains... but I will cringe each time I do so. And pretty soon, when it's no longer worth the ordeal, I'll stop. read more

Soooo sloowwww. Doesn't matter what time of day or year. They are constantly understaffed on the floor, at the cutting counter and the check out. Their pricing games are annoying AF. Today I had a 60% off coupon so I chose a full-price version of the item I needed so I could use the coupon. Got to the register and they wouldn't accept my coupon because supposedly the item was on sale, just not marked. Someone needs to take this chain out behind the barn. read more

Aren't websites the source for accurate hours of operation? I had a last minute utw need for a project, checked your website and it says closes at 9p. I arrived at 8.10 to find them locking the doors. They said well new hours are on the doors. I can't see the doors if I'm at home and want to know I'd I have time to run over there. Let me begin by saying--I have no craft. I'm like the antithesis of Morgan Le Fay in craftiness. I'm 110% muggle when it comes to craft of any sort. Sewing? Can't do it. Knitting? Nada. Painting, quilting, scrapbooking? Nope. Nope. Nope. So, in reviewing a craft store--do keep in mind, I don't have extensive experience with such stores. However, I have, on occasion, had some sort of insane inspiration strike which has left me in search of goods that only such stores seem to carry. This week? I decided to put together a gift basket. Only, it's for a guy--so I wanted it be more of a rustic gift crate. After searching at a variety of stores around town (and online), I came up empty. Enter Jo-Ann's. Within 2 minutes, I found an unfinished crate (on sale for $12.99) and brown paper shreds to fill it. Day/gift idea saved! I've also had occasion to get Halloween decorations here and found that they have some of the most reasonably priced decorations in town. Some are still absurdly priced--but if you look around a bit--some of it is just downright cheap! I've always received friendly service at check out, though haven't had occasion to need customer service anywhere else in the store. I've even had them offer coupons when I haven't had any. Seriously? Amazing. So, for my occasional needs? Jo-Ann's has always delivered. Get to it! read more

After ripping my favorite jeans, staining my favorite overalls, and breaking my favorite pair of shorts (what is my issue?), I decided to come to Joann's and purchase some supplies to fix my beloved articles of clothing. Joann's is kind of overwhelming to walk into, and if you are left to navigate it on your own it could take 10X longer than if you ask for help. So when I came in looking for very specific items, I wasted no time and went straight to the front counter and asked for help. I was greeted by a very kind employee who walked me to the several different aisles that housed the products I needed. (All of those products proved to be super helpful, btw. My favorite jeans are patched up, my overalls are now tie-died, and my shorts are fixed and good as new.) Side note: only reason for knocking off one star is that on another experience here I asked for assistance and was given very vague directions/answers by the employee I chatted with. I guess having a solid experience here depends on what employee you encounter. But be encouraged, there are some rockstar employees at this location who are very eager to help! read more

Let me start off by saying, I love JoAnn's, I really do. They have everything I could ever need for any sort of craft I can think of. The reason for my rating is because the staff there almost seems nonexistent until you get to the registers, which for me is fine, I don't like to be bothered while I'm shopping, however when I do have a question there's no one around for me to ask. The other reason for my rating is that upon getting to to register the employees don't seem at interested that you've even come by and made a purchase at their store, the store itself is also very disorganized and some aisles look completely bare every time I go in. I've had a few times where the cashier asked me how my day was and asked if I found everything alright. Like I first said, I love JoAnns, I really do but there could be a lot of work done to make improvements read more

You'll spend more time standing in line than you will shopping. The fabric cutting table is the worst. The floor can be covered in customers waiting, yet the employees will still chit chat with one another. I've never seen anyone move as slow as the employees in that store. While about 15 customers were waiting for cutting service, employee #1 sat there and talked about how cute the fabric employee #2 was cutting. Ridiculous. If you finally make it through the cutting table torture, you get to stand in line for days waiting for a cashier. Seriously. Don't do it to yourself. read more

A most horrific experience. Three people cutting fabric with nearly 30 people waiting. The employees chatted with each other, wandered off, took phone calls, etc. No sense of urgency at all. Check out was just as bad. I spent close to an hour here for 2 yards of fabric. I should have cut my losses at the half hour mark. read more

Worst shopping experience ever! With Home Fabrics and Hancocks gone, there is little choice for local home decorating fabrics. Staff is overworked, under trained, and only grudgingly helpful! Their prices are absurd. Everything is artificially "marked down" to what should be a reasonable price. For that reason, I can rarely use the 40% coupons since all "sale" items are excluded. I was so excited today to use a coupon stating 20% off entire purchase, even sale items. WRONG! Of my $200 purchase, only $40 was eligible! Seems that "Doorbuster" items (all the fabric) were excluded! Argh! read more

First store that had the kids modeling foam/ clay stuff I had been searching for the past 3 months. Nice clean store. The best part was the lady at the counter. I don't shop here normally because I live out of state and I don't craft so I don't get the coupon emails. I got up to pay and the cashier asked if I had any coupons. I replied no so she had me pull up the website and get both coupons without signing up or downloading anything. I got a 50% off and 40% off. Her helpfulness saved me $14! Thanks lady! read more

While I was visiting with my friend in Boise, I was able to attend a group she goes to every month for people like us who enjoy knitting, crochet, and quilting. It is an independent group, not one provided by Joann, that meets in the second-floor classroom. I loved it so much I wanted to start my own group at the Joann by me, but they don't have space here. So I would rate this store very highly because of their willingness to provide space to customers. The group was amazing, and if I were looking to move to Boise, it would be one of the reasons. read more

This place never ever have enough folks working -especially in checkout. Line moves soooo slow for material cutting and checkout. Currently I'm in a line of 26 people to check out on a Thursday afternoon. Thought I was in a line to buy the new iPhone X on its 1st day of sale. Been in this store 2 hrs now to pick up a few yards of fabric and check out. I dread having to go into to this store for something I need. Can't tell you how many times I've said screw it and left my purchase, got out of line and just left. They are lucky there isn't much other selection or competition elsewhere in Boise. read more

I've been to this store many time but never Yelped it. I was in there today and did some shopping. Found everything I needed and then some. Cashed out and signed up for a sewing class. The manager was super nice and friendly. She signed me up and it was easy and fast. The store itself is clean, the staff is friendly, and they give military discount. I usually find what I need at Joann's, and it is conveniently located, so I visit whenever I need to, a few times a year. I have not shopped since the stay-home order, but taking sensible precautions, I went today to purchase fabric to make face masks. I was surprised and disappointed to see not a single employee wearing a mask, and only four out of about twenty shoppers wearing one. We're all free to choose how we protect ourselves and others from spreading the virus that continues to affect our community. I will choose not to shop at Joann's until it feels safer. read more

Terrible experience at the Boise Milwaukee store. Fabric cutting folks had absolutely terrible customer service from the moment we stepped up to their desk, were unprofessional as if asking for their help inconvenienced them. I will say that the lady at checkout was very pleasant and had great customer service skills, and we did end up with what we were looking for. This store has an excellent selection and terrible service. It can take an hour to get your fabric cut and another 20 minutes to go through the checkstand. No amount of complaining to the corporate office has any effect on them. They have a captive audience. Men would never stick it out for service that bad. It's a sexist issue. read more

This was my second time in this store. I found what I was looking for but was dissapointed to find so many empty hooks in the needlework project aisle. The store seems to be well laid out, and it is clean. I like that they have such a large parking lot. If I don't drive myself to drink with one of my new projects I may be back for more :) read more

I make quilts, crochet and weighted lap pads - all continuously. I use to shop at Joann's . beginning when their location was at 5 mile and Fairview. The store was small, but had great customer service! When they left with their "hometown"atmosphere --I was a little" anxious about how the change might effect their customer service policy that they were known for. I never noticed them being understaffed. The customers were well cared for---before Joann's became a Mega Store. I agree whole heartedly with the reviews about the "waiting time". It has gradually increased from 15 to 20 minutes to, at times up to 2-3 HOURS. WHY?? NOT ENOUGH STAFF!! So, I join the crowd of shoppers saying "WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE?? I go to Hobby Lobby and Craft Warehouse now---since my very favorite store- Hancock Fabrics went out of business . I lost track of the years I shopped with them. ALL would be better IF Joann's management would change their entire focus and PURPOSE to pleasing its customers - instead of padding their bank account. Not EVERYTHING is about MONEY! Seems like my complaint is nothing new based on other recent reviews I see here. Any time I've been here there has never been more than 2 registers open. The same today ... the day before Halloween! How bad can management be to not be aware it would be a busy day and arrange for more workers? I called the store to point out there were over 20 people waiting in line. It took over 3 minutes for the call to be answered, at which time I was told "sorry, we are doing the best we can, we had some people call off work today". I asked for a manager and, after another 2 minute wait, the woman gave me the exact same answer "sorry, we are doing the best we can, we had some people call off work today" and she went on to say "we are trying to hire more people". (So obviously there is a script if you call to complain about their slowness!) All I can say is, if this really is the best you can do, your best is awful. My recommendation: AVOID THIS STORE UNLESS YOU HAVE UNLIMITED TIME TO STAND IN SLOW MOVING LINES. read more

The Boise, Idaho store on Milwakee is the worst every time I go in there. The line for fabric cutting is ridiculous, I've learned to grab a ticket first, then shop for fabric. Besides that, today I had to get 1/2in foam@12.99/yd, the checker ,her name was Ashley according to my receipt, typed it in as 2in foam@29.99/yd, (big difference) and when I tried to correct her politely she turned into a total *****, accusing me of not knowing what I was talking about. A 2.5 yard roll of foam should not cost 55 dollars, yet she would not hear a single thing. This is terrible way to treat a customer, we ended up walking out with not having everything we needed and a horrible taste in our mouths. It wasn't worth fighting her because she was entitled and on a high horse. This is the second time I've had a terrible experience with her in the past two months. Customer service is unheard of at this store. I am going to try to avoid it at all costs. read more

I visited the Milwaukee location yesterday to get a few supplies for my upcoming wedding. I generally go to the Federal Way location because it's closer but I'm glad I stopped here this time. Thankfully I didn't need fabric because the cutting line is always packed but I was able to get my items quickly and the selection for everything is massive, almost dizzying how many choices there are. When I finally got to the register I found out an item that didn't have a tag was more expensive than I anticipated so I moved away from the register to think about it before checking out. Once I returned to the register the clerk, Rikki, helped me soooo much by telling me about all the coupons she knew of that I could find on my phone and use right then and she saved me $30 on my order!! That makes a huge difference to me and my budget and it was so refreshing to see someone willing to go above and beyond to help someone's life be a little easier. The store was clean, I found all the items I needed and then some, and Rikki was the icing on the cake. Great experience and thank you so much!! read more

If you want fabric, don't go here. I'm pretty sure the employees at the cutting counter find joy in making you wait to get your fabric cut. They act like they are doing you a favor by letting you get your fabric there. Not anymore. I'll go to Hobby Lobby. read more

Horrible customer service!! Waited in line on a Saturday for over 30 minutes. They only had two cashiers to check customers out. And they were extremely slow. I will definitely never come back on a Saturday but still why would they not have more cashiers at such a busy time? Very disappointing. read more

The least helpful people in the world work in this Milwaukee Street store. If you order something online to pick up and go to customer service they tell you to get in the regular line, but if you get in the regular line to pick it it up they have you wait at customer service for no one to come help you. Also, many of the classes that I have signed up for have been cancelled. Very frustrating experiences every time I try to give them my business. read more

The lines are always too LONG. It takes forever to have some fabric cut no matter what time of the day or week. This location is under-staffed and not kept well stocked. There is missing merchandise that has not been restocked for months (not weeks). When you go to check out, plan on waiting and waiting. I find the staff helpful but over worked and always rushing to catch up. read more
