The customer service at this Joann location has always been fantastic the few times I've been here (shout-outs to Jennifer and I think it was James)! This store is one of the larger ones in SoCal and offers a wide selection for most of your creative needs - sewing, beading, and framing to name a few. Items are properly priced and labeled and this makes it much easier to find what you're looking for! My only critique would be that the property itself could use some TLC, like changing the lights and cleaning up some of the interior. It's definitely an older building, but the outside looks like it was recently remodeled and I hope corporate can address these needs. read more

I was looking for something to do and thought it be fun to make a blanket. Joann carries a ton of fabrics that typically goes on sale. The store is full of treasures to craft and decorate with. Parking is plentiful. Unfortunately my first trip was a fail. I asked for 2 yards of each fabric. When I got home I unrolled everything and it was off. Not by a little but off by A LOT. I returned the fabric and Linda saved the day. She even gave me tips on how to save time and how to make my quilt. She turned my sour sitation into something sweet. I was able to get a 2025 Happy planner at 50% off. By the way my blanket took about 2-3 hours. It was more work than expected. But I did it. read more

This is an updated review on Joann. I happened to be passing through and I needed yarn. So I thought I'd stop here. Compared to my last visit, the store was well stocked. There were little to no boxes on the floors. There was a beautiful display of christmas decor and everything was easy to find. I went straight to the yarn section where everything was neatly placed in subsections. I was able to find the most of yarn I needed. I was only missing a color which almost always sells out. I also couldn't find any the aluminum crochet hooks. Upon getting to the register, there was a long line and sadly, only one cashier. I am guessing they are still very much understaffed. But the cashier was very sweet despite the glares from the other customers who wanted another register to open. If I do pass through this part of town and I need yarn, i'll stop by, and on a day where I am not in a rush. read more

11/2/22 Looking for a thimble, you'll never guess what for.... Hubby wanted to get auntie a "snuffer" for her blunt in order to save it. It would've cost maybe $17 at the dispensary shop versus $3.20 at JoAnn's. Auntie was snipping hers with scissors & wasting much of the medicinal leaves!!! The parking is ample, there's always seasonal / holiday decor on sale...why the low rating?! I know I prefer Michael's which had a more extensive, hipper selection but it's a different clientele they are targeting. For the average crafter its the difference of Marshall's vs Ross'....you'll find the same basics. And it does just fine. Jo-Ann's is great if you need fabric or trim by the yard. They have aisles(!) filled with prints, different textiles, etc. They also can't be beat in all the crafts + personalization possibilities with their DIY wood options; wooden letters, frames, decor, slabs, etc. Great for painting, staining and/or burning to tour heart's desire. JoAnn's Fabric store has the worse customer service! I purchased some fabric and clearance craft paints. When I got home I opened one container of the paint and it was dried out. Second container dried out. I want back with my receipt a few days later to take all the clearance paint containers back (the rest were still sealed) and was told no refund. Who would have thought a store would sell products unusable. I waited for a manager and was told no refund. I could understand clearance products not being returned but it's a shame to sell something that should be tossed out. I left the bag and told the manager to throw it out. I called the Corporate office from my car and was told someone would get back to me. Still waiting. NOT! I decided not to shop there anymore. My crafting community (we are located all over the US) agree that this is not the same company we used to know. Overpriced and again the "Worst customer service in all the stores" I'll drive the extra 15+ minutes for a company that stands behind there products and has customer service. I crochet a lot, blankets mostly, and take them to a cancer center. When JoAnn's closed I didn't know what I was going to do but I did take advantage of the close-out sales online. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!! This site is in Hong Kong. I thought it was an American company but apparently it's not. Turns out, the site is a scam and a fraud. They provided a tracking something or other - it wasn't a number - and the last tracking was in Texas. that was a week ago. Now, the tracking whatever it is cannot be found. I'm glad I paid through PayPal and was able to get my money returned because this site is a fraud. read more

Went in today and the air conditioning is not working "WORKING". Terrible working environment for the few employees they have working. I should have just turned around and walked out. The cashier guy that checked me out was sweating and I asked him why he didn't have a fan? He seemed flustered and didn't know how to answer me. Come on Joanne's fix the AC. Came in looking for some heavy duty fabric to reupholster an ottoman top that was torn. I walk to what I believe is the upholstery section, but didn't see anything I liked. Went to the other side of store. Found a heavy duty vinyl, but didn't like the color so looking for help, I found the sewing machine section person who referred me to someone behind the fabric counter, stating "she'll be able to help you." Walked over to the counter and a woman behind the counter, without looking up from her phone, asks, " I can help you with what?" I tell her I saw some heavy duty fabric gesturing to the other side of the store and why I needed it and she states that I need to look at the upholstery fabric. I informed her that I saw fabric on the other side but I didn't like it and was hoping for something similar. She says show me and when I do, she says "it's vinyl apparel" but we need to go to the upholstery section and immediately starts walking to the upholstery section. I ask, if there's anything else there besides red, and she replies, "If you don't see it, we don't have it", w/o even checking for another similar fabric in that section, while quickly walking away from me. I mean, was she THAT BUSY THAT SHE COULDN'T LOOK FOR ANOTHER IN THE FABRIC SECTION, or explain that THAT red vinyl fabric was the OOOOONLY vinyl fabric in the store. Don't think so. After all, she was on her phone when I first approached her, with no customer in sight. Feeling I wasn't getting the service I asked for, I tell her no thanks I'm gonna look for other help. I approached the register, asked for the manager, and learn that the woman I had been speaking to IS the manager, and that there's only the two of them in the store today. There was no use in staying. In the past I have received assistance from a mature, helpful woman who showed me a few different fabrics, and then cut the fabric of my choice. Very disappointed in their customer service and cleanliness. Ordered 6 skeins of yarn for pickup . Showed the guy my order and told him it was for 6 skeins of yarn. 12 min and he comes back with a bag with someone elses name that had 2 small packages in the one bag. I told him again my order for 6 skeins and name. Another 8 min he brings me 1 skein of yarn . I show him my pickup order for the 6 skeins . Tells me i should have gotton a email that said only 1. Ugh . Never got another email that changed my pickup order. If they had only the one and I knew it, I would've never taken the 25 minutes to drive all the way over there. Cancel my order. I went to buy some stuff as well and picked up an online order around 5 p.m. today, 2/23/24, with James' assistance. James was so genuinely helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I find it hard sometimes to interact with strangers, but his friendly demeanor definitely made it such a comfortable interaction for me. Outstanding customer service; letting me know about coupons and how to save much more, making sure me and the other customers are doing okay is definitely such a plus! Also, I am not sure what the reviews are talking about, but I came to a clean, organized store. Still crowded inside, everyone's trying to get fabric still & this one I think is the only joanns right now in the Area that's open. Joann's pricing policies are so frustrating and DECEPTIVE. I wait for a fabric in-store to go on sale, which it shows online that it is, and when I get to the store, the price on the fabric bolt is not only $7 higher than it is on their app, it's been marked up another $2 in the last week, because I was in the store last week and saw it. They actually placed a sticker on the bolt over the price from the previous week, marking it up another $2, then state that YAAY IT'S NOW ON SALE! Except that it's not really because they raised the price. And they won't match their online prices. The employees in the store say I have to order it on the app, and then come back in a few hours when it's ready, which would be a total waste of my time, so no. And you have to order in whole yards online, which also costs more if you don't need that whole yard amount. If you're on a budget and are trying to save money my making things yourself, Joanns may not be the place for you. Double-check all of their "deals," because it's likely not really a deal after all. I feel bad for the employees that have to explain these shady pricing policies to customers. I would hate to have to work there. Not to mention, using their bathroom is a disgusting experience. The women's bathroom doesn't look like it's been cleaned in ages, even a basic cleaning, like with a mop. (I included a photo for your viewing pleasure) I recommend holding it (imagine having to do this if you work there) or doing your best to not touch ANYTHING. Went here to pick up a few items. I use to LOVE this store! There were two employees in the entire store. The store was filthy and picked over. No one to help me. I got to the register after 20 minutes of waiting. The poor clerk was exhausted. She said the store only staffs 2 employees at any given time and allows them to work only 3 hours per day. Doesn't look like anyone has cleaned in there for a week. So do the employees have separate bathrooms, so they don't have to use them? 2. There are isles with nothing on them 3. This location needs to be closed down. It's super dirty & unkempt, plus the 2x I've been here (about 60 days apart) the ceiling vent was making a really loud noise. Everything is super expensive and are similar items (if not the same items) as the Dollar Tree. I went both times at an off time during the week and it was dead, they only had 2 people working there and I waited 20 min!?! I could tell the poor cashier was struggling and nervous because there were people in line, she even called over the speaker for help but no one ever came. I told her she doesn't and she just laughed and left. So frustrating that staff are like this. I visited this location yesterday. I normally go to Fullerton and La Habra. From the moment I walked in, it was not a pleasant experience. The store is a mess and filthy both outside and inside. Aisles are cluttered. I used the restroom and the whole time heard female employees loudly talking negative about other employees and using profanity. It was also miserably hot in there. When I walked out, an employee walked by me and I smiled and she just scowled at me. There was no one at or near the fabric counter. The register area is a maze and mess. They have too much in the way of the exit and you have to walk through the registers to get there. All in all just bad customer service and retail etiquette and it's sad other reviews say all the same things going back months and years and no one cares enough to change anything. read more

Update: one full week later my order is ready. Per emailed instructions I waited in the car calling the provided number for 5min watching two separate lines get longer. Turns out Curbside pick up requires you to stand in the sun for 30min. Those of is burning up in the curbside pick up line have atleast 10 people go in and shop and come out while we waited for our (already completed) order to be brought outside to us. They claim its due to sorting thru all the orders. --op-- I understand covid-19 has caused a demand in fabric sales, but dont promote Curb-Side pick up if its going to take a week to complete. I placed my order 6 days ago, selecting fabrics in-stock at this store so I wouldnt have to wait for shipping etc. I chose curbside-pick up because I thought it would be safer and more convenient but at this rate I should have just worn my mask to the store and shopped myself. The manager, Cindy, or who claims to be the manager handled a complaint I had very poorly. I had walked into Joann's to buy some needles and other supplies for a project i'm working on. The total cost came out about 35$ and all i had was 100$ bill. I was refused service because they claimed to not have the change needed. Cindy very rudely scuffed me out and after the rude service I had called the store asking for the manager. Cindy had picked up ( i recognizing the voice) and ask for the manager. She claimed she was the manager and I questioned why their store did not have at least 60$ in a register. It wasn't like this place was slow in business either. i practically waited 20 min in line. Prices are a little higher than if you were to find the same item online, however if you sign up for their mailing list, they are always sending out coupons - so those can help you save some coin. The only issue I've had is that if you need assistance, it's often difficult to find someone on the floor to help. read more

Hands down the worst Joann's you could ever go to. I frequent craft stores, especially Joann's and I've never had worst customer service than at this store. Their larger selection doesn't make up for their incompetence in employees and customer service. I spoke with 4 customer service associates today, over the phone, in person, including a manager, Yvonne and the store manager, Theresa, they offered to let me speak with 3 times. I never spoke with her, but instead received argumentative cashiers and a lower level manager. When I got to the store to pick up my items the 3 workers I dealt with her rude, not helpful, but well trained in arguing. I was charged twice for an item, told I would be refunded, but given no proof that would happen because "we can't do that here." All day long this store told me they were incapable of many things, they can add keeping my business to their list. There's a reason this store has such low reviews, believe them. My business will now be conducted at Hobby Lobby and Michael's, only, and if you're reading this, you should seriously consider making the same decision. read more

Came into this store because I made a curbside pick up order of two packs of Harry Potter stickers. I was throwing a Harry Potter themed party and this was the only store I could find any at. I ordered these the day before my party so I needed them in a time crunch which is why I looked for items in store rather than purchasing online through somewhere like Amazon. I waited 4 hours after I put in my order for curbside pickup and I never got an email stating it was ready. I was on a time crunch so I went into the store hoping they could get it ready for me anyways. Upon arriving, I went straight to the check out line which took almost a full hour to get through. As I was waiting in line, one of the cashiers was yelling at multiple customers as they were checking out if they had a question for her. I heard "we are very busy, maybe you can call later" or just a straight up "I don't have time" many times. I felt uncomfortable for those people because no one was causing a scene or being rude to her but she was being rude to multiple people and doing so loudly enough that I could hear her in line. When I got to the front, I told a different cashier that I had just put in an online order and explained that I didn't get that "ready email" but since it had been 4 hours since I put in my order I was hoping to pick it up anyways. She told me I had to go look around the store for the item and get back in line in a very rude and aggressive tone. I asked where the item I ordered could be found and I got "I don't know" and then "NEXT" right after. Mind you, when I finally found the stickers, they were literally right by the cashier. So I grabbed my items, waited in line for another hour and finally got to check out. Had to re-explain the situation to another cashier and then she said they'd have to charge me and I'd have to cancel my order online myself. At this point, I was getting really pissed off and told her I wasn't going to pay for anything to which she agreed after talking to her manager. 3 hours later and a huge headache, I finally left that store for two small packs of stickers LOL. I'll never be coming back to this store. Not worth the frustration and the ridiculously rude customer service. Go to Michael's instead. read more

Came here because I needed something last minute for a project. I literally ran in the store and they said 5 minutes to closing! I knew exactly what I needed and ran through the aisles to get what I wanted to buy. I needed something cut and asked the lady by the counter she said "no cut counter is closed". There wasn't much left on the spool (but more than I needed) and said well can I just buy the whole thing? She said "no but what you can do is come back tomorrow and have it cut"! There was a very helpful man there , who seemed to be some sort of store manager named James and he took the spool and "eye measured" and told me have them scan it and sell it for 2 yards, I was fine with that and quickly moved to the front of the store to pay. The lady who claimed to be manager saw me coming and said "I told you you can't buy the whole thing" I told her what James said and she said "well he's not the manager I am" she said she could hold it for me and to come back tomorrow, despite the fact that I had an arm full of other things I was about to purchase! Really, how hard would it be to print a ticket for 2 yards? It could have been done before the cashier even finished checking me out! The "manager" was on a power trip and had the worst customer service I have ever experienced! If I ever need to go there again, not likely, I will leave the store and take y business elsewhere if I see she is working in the store! read more

Awful customer service. Be aware that online sales/door busters are NOT the same at the actual store & they will not honor the sale unless you order it online and even if it says they have the product in your local store for order & pickup, chances are they don't & they will just cancel your order.
