I would like to commend Staff Member Kaithleen for being extremely helpful. I have never experienced such excellent customer service like the one she provided today at around 9:15 AM. However, when I returned because I forgot something, I encountered an Indian associate who was very rude. Unfortunately, she has been unpleasant every time I visit this store, and it really affects my experience. I truly hope that Michaels management addresses this issue, as it makes shopping here unnecessarily stressful. read more

This review is for one very rude and boisterous female employee. Unfortunately, I was not able to catch her name so I am only able to give a description. She is an older Hispanic woman about 5'4" in height. She looks to be in her early 60's and wears glasses; she has short shoulder-length dark brown/blackish hair. I am not sure how she was ever hired but she has no business working in a customer service job. This type of work environment requires constant professional customer interaction, something she is ill-equipped to do. I was not even at this woman's register but she still managed to be so aggressively rude to me. I was waiting in line when out of nowhere, this B***h at a register screamed at me across the way. She tried to accuse me of just walking up and cutting everyone in line, when I was ALREADY in line waiting patiently like everyone else. I was so caught off guard that I actually apologized for no reason, and then I had to emphasize that I was already in line. I guess that was when she finally sucked up her pride and realized she was wrong, because she did not say anything else. Now that I look back, I do not know why I apologized when I did nothing wrong. The apology should have come from her for making a false accusation. I should have also requested to speak to a manager. I do not know why she picked on me, maybe it is because I am of Asian descent?? From the way she behaved, I think she has mistreated other customers too. Never have I ever been so disrespected and humiliated, especially in an arts and crafts store of all places. I can see employees being rude at places like a supermarket or a liquor store etc., but at an arts and crafts store? Really? On top of all that, my coupons were never honored like they were supposed to be. There is some false advertising going on. Smh. Anyways, this woman should stay home, rely on welfare and needlepoint instead. Michaels please fire this woman asap, she does nothing but chase customers away. You really need to time your visit right to take advantage of the best deals, but the sales rotate frequently. We've found some great bargains on picture frames, crafts, and holiday decorations. Ordered balloons 3 days in advance- arrived and no balloons ready, after 4 emails that my order was ready! Horrible customer service!

Purchased about 10 frames on clearance. Today, I took them back with the receipt and I was informed that clearence couldn't be returned. The individual who cashed me out did not mention that, didn't circle it on the receipt or anything to that regard. I spent over $100 and it's infuriating that I wasn't informed they couldn't be returned because if that was the case, I would not have purchased them in the first place to play it safe, considering it was slightly an impulse buy. If it were one or two items on clearance, I completely understand the cashier not saying anything, but the fact that everything I bought was on clearance, something definitely should've been mentioned before me purchasing. read more

I can say customer service was a little off I'm sure staff were to busy since it's hours before thanksgiving and getting ready for Black Friday . Scan everything prior to the check out if you want to be sure. I've had items priced on sale but they were ringing up full price and didn't catch it until after I left. The locations are not close enough that I went back for an adjustment. Bummer. Today's haul was amazing. A bunch of programs were 60% off; Spring decor, Disney craft & DIY unpainted farm style decor. I scored a small barn door for $8 after the discount which easily could be $20-$30 elsewhere if finished. Tons of clearance items as well scattered throughout the store; frames, spray paint, etc. the weekly email had both a 40% off coupon and an additional 20% off total cart. I had my watercolor painting framed by the staff there at the store. As usual,they did a fantastic job. It looked great! I picked up the framed painting and took it home. A few days later, I noticed that the layers of the painting were starting to curl up. Totally my fault, it was part of the painting. So I brought the painting back so that they could open it up and I could fix my painting. Ryan helped me. In just a couple of minutes he took my painting out so I could repair it. I returned with the repaired painting and he immediately reframed it and had it done in a few minutes. I pulled out my wallet, but he said no charge. I was shocked, he only smiled and wished me well. To make a long story short, my painting curled up again. Ryan came to rescue again, laughing he unframed and reframed my repaired painting. Again at no charge to me. Now that's what I call service excellence! Ryan is a valuable member of the staff at the Michael's. He definitely deserves an excellent performance review. I will certainly vouch for him. Review is for FRAMING DEPT. Shout out to Bethany! I had my husband picture and diplomas that needed to be framed as a gift for my mother in law. I walked up and down the frames aisles and couldnt find a frame that would work best. I rang the service bell and was greeted by Bethany and I was a complete and useless mess. I told her what I kind of wanted but I really did not know what the heck I wanted. So I showed her the items that I wanted to be framed. Bethany was sooooo good! Sooo talented. She helped me arrange the items in order that made sense. She helped introduced me to multi border colors and was just extremely helpful. I was so mind blown how quick she was able to make awesome suggestions. The final product though, it came out better than what I expected!! Coupons. Michaels is all about helping you save money. I receive coupons via email, have them mailed to my home and collect them from my sister who finds them in the newspaper. Frames. My cousin died. Our family put together a collage of photos for which we needed a wooden frame to fit an odd-sized pre-cut template. The photos would be displayed at his funeral. Time was of the essence. Staff at the frames area pulled out all stops to get the job done on time at an affordable price. Great Job! Yarn. Christmas 2015. I wanted to make gifts for family, pulled out old crochet hooks and went to work. Started off buying yarn that was on sale. (Less expensive than Walmart). My sister cautioned, "Don't go to Michaels without coupons. You can usually use them even for sale items." What? Sure enough, I've since found this to be very helpful. The store is always well stocked and clean. What I like most about the yarn section is the swatches of knit or crocheted yarn that hangs from the bins. Gives me an idea what a finished product will look like. I'm new to crocheting. All visual aids welcome. And I also love the seasonal displays celebrating Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter. This was the 1st and last time I will do my business at any Michaels stores. I had the worst customer experience ever and did not expect to be treated with such disrespect as it is an arts and crafts store. I went inside to buy 1 spray paint can for a project. I pressed the button for assistance, the guy unlocked the locker, took the can out and insisted on walking up with me to the cashier's counter. Don't know why but okay...so I followed him and he put the spray paint can on a cashier's counter and walked away. I just stood there kind of confused and waited to be helped by the cashier. As I walked up to pay, a cashier (older Indian/Hispanic woman with shoulder length black hair with glasses) at the next register decided to yell at me saying "you need to wait in line!!" I told her I didn't know I had to because the guy placed the spray paint can on the counter and walked away." She continued to scream at me saying "next time wait in line!! You need to wait in line next time!!" I politely told her "I didn't know, sorry." She really didn't need to humiliate me in front other strangers it was completely uncalled for, also the guy should have told me to get in line after he put the spray paint on the counter instead of just walking away! I was buying 1 single item anyways so I don't understand why they over-complicated things and humiliated me. Do they get some kind of sick satisfaction out of that?? It's like ring me up this 1 item and let me be on my way, wtf is your problem??? I will never set foot inside a Michaels store again! If you want to be mistreated and ripped off by all means visit this store. Everything is over-priced and items in there can be found cheaper at Walmart. Employees need to be re-trained because customer service is not their forte. read more

I love Michaels. There's no question about that as a craft and planner fanatic! This location is ranked as one of my favorites since the employees always seem to be enthusiastic and acknowledgeable. A lot of their stuff is usually in stock and come in a huge variety of designs and colors. The reason why I only gave it a 3-star is because, and this goes for ALL the Michaels (as a whole), they started an "everyday value program" which I don't think is necessarily a good "value." I'd honestly rather have the items priced as they were before this program and have the satisfaction of using their 20% off the entire purchase coupon or the 40-60% off a regular priced item coupon. A lot of the items are either already on sale or a part of this program, therefore you cannot use the coupon. It's a little misleading and sad. Might as well not offer coupons since more than half the items in the store can't be used with coupons more than half the time. :( read more

This is my 3rd Michaels this morning, and finally found the yarn I need. But tell me this...why at each one is there only 1 person working the cashier stations!? It's Christmas weekend! This Michaels is in a giant building with plenty of parking and a ton of employees .But for some reason this location never gets costumers out of the door. So it's in the middle of the afternoon and they only have two cash registers with around 8 people waiting in line. This isn't even Christmas time yet and seriously I don't think I want to be in this store during the whole month of December. I waited for around 20 minutes to get service and that was just ridiculous. They really need more employees instead of stocking when it is busy get to the cash register! It sounds soo simple but for some reason it doesn't end up that way. Ok so all Michael's are pretty much the same right? Overly crowded, messy shelves, teeny aisles, lazy employees, etc.... Not this one! This store is a breath of fresh air, which is why it deserves a review & a high rating. seriously, if you have ever gone to any other Michael's you would know what i mean about the stores being messy & the aisles being very small. I came here to pick up a couple of items for my DIY halloween costume. I actually spent more than I wanted to in here because they were having amazing discounts on their fall items - 60% off on some stuff!!! Which means I scored this vintage-ish metal light up sign that was normally $60 but got it less than $30! Anyways, the employees are also so helpful. The guy who helped me find the clay aisle seemed to like his job & was happy to help. This is worth the trip if you plan on spending some time at a Michael's because this one is clean & very open feeling inside. read more

I've been coming to this Michaels for years. It was dangerous when I was 16 and started working at the PetSmart next door. Oh man! My checks were spent before I even got them between working in a pet store and next to a craft store, it was a wonder I ever actually had money and a savings back then. Though personally Hobby Lobby is my go to place for crafts now simply because they're a decent amount cheaper than Michaels, I'll still stop by Michaels because they actually carry some items that HL does not. I think of all the Michaels I've been to, this is my favorite location. The staff is nice and down to Earth and are ALWAYS looking to help their customers save a couple extra dollars by loading up on the coupons. I always forget that you can use multiple coupons so long as they all work out. Other locations either wont remind you or tell you they will only take 1 of the coupons so pick wisely. Sort of a bust so I make it a point to come to this location. Not to mention, if your Michaels app is acting wonky, they always have a set of coupons sitting at the register to use just in case... as long as you get a cashier that's on their game! I've gone to other locations and had my app act funky and they tell me all well, "Next time." Besides, this location tends to put me in the spirit more than the others for some reason.
