I was trying to stay within my budget. She was clearly following me and said I was picking thing up and putting items back when I asked her why she was following and harassing me. She 1st yelled at me "what the hell is going on down here!!? When I was returning something to the spot i had picked it up from that I had just priced and decided was to expensive. From that point she glared at me like I was her worst enemy until I finally asked her what I did wrong. I really don't know why I rubbed her the wrong way buy my presence disturbed her. I really like Joanne fabrics. It reminds me of Michael's craft store. Although it's on the pricier and the selection can't be beat especially fabric. I've actually never seen a wider selection of fabric. They have an entire row of Halloween fabric alone. I usually find what I'm looking for or an alternative that I probably didn't think of. read more

I placed an order for 3 types of fabric (same material) different colors. Seller decided to ship to PayPal address (not email address on file). Discovered their error within 10 minutes of order being placed and was told ship to address could NOT be changed. Ship to address is empty house - yet they have made 2 labels to this address since order date of 9/14/23 - 11 days later - with a third one being generated today!! This $100 order has become a nightmare!!! I will NEVER order from them again. I do not have my material either. read more

There is a liability at the store- A cashier in this store location licked her fingers to separate card stock I was purchasing. I contacted the manager and the store gave me an even exchange. I want this to be known so other employees don't do the same disgusting thing. We are in a pending. Associates should act as such. They should not put their saliva on property that isn't theirs. I agree with the previous reviewer who wrote hers a year and a half ago. And this have obviously NOT changed!!! I have been to the Vero beach Joann's a couple times and never had ANY issues. But they are a very small store. Mostly just sewing stuff so I was pretty excited to see how big this one was when I went. First off, the bathrooms... I'd rather use a gas station bathroom. I MIGHT be cleaner than those. I was slightly horrified. And the smell?? I'm not sure what it was? Sewer with rotting meat?? I should have left right then! Second, looooooong line to have fabric cut. ONE lady is actually cutting fabric while the other one stands there and talks to a customer she knows for almost 15 mins before cutting any of HER fabric. Other Woman talking couldn't care any less that the line was now 6 people deep not including myself and the other lady just cut 2 people in front's fabric. Third: Super over inflated prices then marked down at either 40 or 50% off. Call it the bargain shopper in me but when I pick up an item that I love and see the price at $69.99. I'm shocked. Ok it's "on sale"... So the price is $35. The problem is, I can't even see paying $35 for it without being on sale. But NOT $35 ON SALE!! No way!! NOT giving into your marketing ploys. Fourth: the people who work there are so not customer friendly. And genuinely seemed annoyed when you want to check out. I stood in line for a good 10 mins with no one in front of us while two employees pretended to be SUPER busy while gossiping about another employee. Fifth: when I asked to see a manager about how crappy my visit was, I was shocked to find the "manager" aka shift supervisor (?) was one of the employees just at the front gossiping! And as the cashier is handing me my change she shouted in my face that she could take the next person. There's too many stores out there who WANT your business. Joann's? The worse experience in my life and I was not even there it was over the phone. I ordered online and saw that there was a link for curb side pick up that said that if you order before 5 you could get your order today. I ordered in the morning and by the time it hit 6 I decided to call. Side note I am a Publix employee (which values costumer service more than anything) and it has been nothing but chaos on my one day off that I have from the mayhem and people yelling at me I get more people yelling at me and mostly people who should know their place. When I called I asked about their policy for curbside pick up and I only wish I got the name of the employee she started laughing and said "I do not know where you people are getting this information but you are wrong" and she put me on hold before I even had a chance to say anything to her disrespect. I eventually got on the phone with the manager and she said she would talk to her but she did not even care about what happen she was worried that she had a line outside. I canceled my three item order and said that I was never going back again and I mean it. I called the corporate office and got no answer because they said that they did not have the options for phone calls because of the high volume. I think that is weak and they should have more pride than that. I do not complain ever and I do not ever post things online but this cannot be ignored. Large section for artists of various types, seasonal decor, and each section usually has children's beginner kits. Short Version: Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here! This is the place to go for hard-to-find items. On the other hand, some categories are lacking common items. Products are just organized enough to provide hope, but not organized enough to provide reason. No other reason to go here unless you want to witness a business spiraling down, or are into '50 Shades of Gray Flannel'. BIBLICAL VERSION: *CONS*: -Identical items are scattered about various sections, in a weird way.Candles in the front, candles by upholstery fabric, candles in each section for its designated purpose (wedding candles, tea lights, your every-day pentagram needs). -Items are not necessarily located in a manner that makes any sense. Art supplies seem to be ok, but sewing & craft items have a secret code that Tom Hanks is still exploring. Sure it makes sense to have scissors in multiple areas, but to put clothing elastic far away from ribbons or other trim?? -/+:Wide variety of specialized craft tools, but you will have to have the patience of Job to find what you seek. There are probably at least 30 types of glue, but only one specific product to attach to slipper socks to prevent sliding. -Staff are hard to locate, and are usually surrounded by 2 or 3 customers waiting to ask a question. I feel sorry for any employee on the way to the bathroom and in a hurry. -Employee competence & helpfulness vary widely. I have several times been directed to the wrong section of the store for an item, or told the store carries an item which it does not. Every employee is either busting her butt working the jobs of 3 people, feebly surviving a customer onslaught, or standing around chatting whilst waiting for their UFO pickup. Some of the employees are young, clueless, but at least willing. Some are cranky old women whose corsets are too tight. -I have rarely been in here when there were few customers and each customer had time if desired to consult with an employee on a project. -Most of the decor items are total crap that is available at any Dollar General at a fair price. $50 for a 4 foot metal Shepard's Crook for a hanging plant? Other sizes for $30 or $15? Of course, they were '30% off', but still too high for a reasonable person. -No one answers the phone. I have been in the store and needed help so desperately that I have used my cellphone to call the store number. Useless. -The fabric counter is like a local version of "The Hunger Games". Prepare to become tribute to some nasty people (not all of whom are customers). Bring a book, you probably have time to read the trilogy whilst you're waiting. -The store is enormous. By the time customers reach the front, they are often hot, tired, sweaty & frustrated. And then out of 6 stations, only one cashier is actually on the register. And it's her first day. And she doesn't speak English. And she has clawed hands so must type with her feet. And has low blood sugar because she's been at the cash register for 10 hours with no break. *PROS* - military discount. -Decent to good deal in clearance items. Each section has a small clearance section for its specific niche, and then there is half an aisle in the back for a mishmash of items from any category (by colored posterboard & glues). That means two places to look if you want X item on a real sale, which can be a pro or con depending on your preference. - Huge selection of items for the beginner hobbyist in just about anything. - Sewing machine vendors are in-store with a wide variety of machines, and are much more helpful than store employees (although they will only discuss their products, and are probably on commission- totally fair). -The store is enormous. Will count as your exercise for the day. -Store is well-lit. -Some items are of another era and time. I guess people buy them, or they wouldn't be stocked, but who uses gigantic shoulder pads these days? Increases historical interest whilst shopping. -If you come during an off time, you can get assistance and have a tolerable shopping experience. That's usually first thing in the morning, or after 7PM. People's children and retirees are getting ready for bed and not out shopping. read more

They have a huge selection of items, so I can usually get whatever it is I'm looking for even though the way the store is organized leaves a lot to be desired.  It's easy to get ideas for new hobbies just by looking around because of all their products.  I love the main paint aisle, with so many different types of paint and explanations for them usually found on the top side of the shelves.  I love this place, but docked off one star because of how hard it is to get help when I am looking for something that they only have a small quantity of (like dreamcatcher hoops).  Once I walked around the whole store 3 times before I gave up and went in line just so I could ask the lady at the register to point me in the right direction.  Most of the cashiers and employees I've interacted with were nice enough, but most of the time it's really hard to find any employees around the "floor" area.  Still worth the trip when you need stuff!  Aside from the paint area I usually shop the yarn, paper & baking areas.  They seem to have a large selection of picture frames and seasonal decor too. read more

Went to the Melbourne location today. Normally I enjoy my visits to this store but today there were two cashiers and only one was wearing a mask. I can understand a store not insisting customers wear a mask, but Florida is currently a hot spot and cashiers should all wear masks. The first rule of customer service should be to do what you can to keep customers safe. read more

This was not very clean. Floors felt sticker. Was going to use the restroom and ran back out. It was filthy!

I've lived in this area 7 months and for the dozen or so times I've shopped this location, I have had pleasant experiences. The employees I encountered have been pleasant and helpful. The store is clean and well organized. I called to get some info on one of their products. I called the first time and no answer. Then I called the second time and as soon as somebody picked up I was told I had to hold....ok no problem. I was on hold for exactly 10 min until I decided to hang up. I called back and a lady picked up, I explained the situation that I was in with the phone call ( uncalled for a customer to wait 10 on a phone). She responded " it was not me, what do you want?" Unfortunately I am new to the area and this the only fabric store that I know of that has most of my crafting needs under one roof. (big sigh). Employees always seem annoyed when you ask them for help. It's probably because they are being interrupted from their gossiping. Last time I was there (around the holidays) it seems like there was a new employee there and the other employees were bothered by her asking "how to questions". I try to avoid this place and will commute to Michaels for all other crafting projects unfortunately this is my only good enough option when it comes to textiles. read more

This place seemed fine enough. I didn't feel it was unorganized or anything. It was a very clean and tidy store. I am giving a 3 star review for a few reasons: 1. The store name was totally blocked by large trees. It was entirely impossible to see from the street and they didn't have a sign up in front of the plaza. For all I knew they went out of business. These trees desperately need to be trimmed back. I don't know if that's something they are in charge of or not, but it was definitely noticeable. 2. Very few associates seemed to know their stuff. Most gave me a blank stare when I asked questions and just didn't really seem like employees. I felt it would have been just as productive to ask a fellow customer where certain items were. The manager was very helpful though and walked me to the correct aisle. 3. In general, there didn't seem to be anyone working. One employee at the cutting counter, one on registers and the manager counting down registers at 7 pm. It just seemed a little odd. read more

They really don't have enough stores. I live in Cocoa and no stores anywhere. Pretty sad they don't expand. Lots of places to have a store.

Understaffed. The cashier who works Wednesday mornings is very polite and helpful. Many of the employees in individual departments seem to lack basic knowledge that should be required of them. I needed help with some fabric during a visit about a month ago and two employees seemed more interested in dishing about one of their recent dates than helping me. read more

JoAnn Fabrics is the only show in town, so they have no competition. The store is huge, recently rearranged, so it is more confusing than it was before. The fabric selection is large, but the quality is poor to fair, with the majority being made in China. Try finding a US made fabric, other than upholstery, it is nearly impossible. Their quilting cottons are mostly made in China, some of the dye rubs off on your fingers. The better priced fabrics are from South Korea or Japan, and those are $12.99 a yard. They are extremely short staffed, with cutting and register lines always long. The staff appears way over worked and unenthusiastic, and who wouldn't be, working under those conditions. There is never anyone on the floor to help customers. If an employee is stocking on the floor, they are usually annoyed at a question. I feel upper management is probably to blame for the morale, and lack of proper coverage, but hey, who am I, they do a killer business. If you need guidance, just ask another customer, they will be more helpful. I've helped a few myself. read more

I went to Joanns in Melbourne FL for gimp trim. I bought 5 yards. When she first started measuring it, the cutter was stretching it. I specifically asked her not to. She stopped and stupid me didn't measure it when she was done to check her measuring. What a surprise, I opened it out to cut and....four yards and 30 inches...A FULL 6 INCHES SHORT. And yep, if I stretched it really hard I could bring it to 5 yards, but, of course, that will mess up my project. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I HAVE BEEN SHORTED AT THIS STORE!!! The first one I ignored, the second one I brought back...but now I have to drive THIRTY MILES EACH WAY...not worth the gas money. I will, however, make sure that every person I can find, on every online quilt forum, on facebook, at my 2 local quilt guilds, knows what happened. read more

Customer service is non existent in this store. Went to the store on the 27th of April to purchase a sewing machine that was on sale. First went to the sewing machine department. Saw the model that was on sale but the price was $180 more than what was advertised. The lady at the sewing machine department said that was only on-line. Very agravated, went to see the store manager. She said the sewing machine people only lease space in their store and there wasn't anything she could do. As my husband was with me, he said we would go home and just order the machine on-line. Went all the way home, got on-line to order it and what does it say???? IN-STORE PURCHASE ONLY!!!!! My husband called since I was too upset to speak and apparently the store manager and the lady at the sewing machine department had a chat and that the machine was indeed priced incorrectly. We had to drive back to the store and got the machine for the sale price, but they should have checked the issue in the beginning instead of blowing me off. I think from now on I'll make the drive to Hobby Lobby. Joann Fabric needs to definitely get some customer service training for all their employees, since you can never find anyone to help you, and their leased businesses. read more

I shop at Joann Fabrics all the time, I always take my dog with me (he is training to be a service dog) but I always make sure to call ahead of I am going to a new Joann Fabrics store, because most are dog friendly. So I called ahead and talked to a lady and asked if I could bring my pet dog into the store as to most Joann Fabric stores are friendly and she said yes. I walk into the store and go shop for the things I need and a employee walked up to me and in a very nasty tone asks if he is a service animal, I respond no but he is in training. She then replies to me, we do not allow animals in the store unless they are service animals. I then respond back in a nice tone that I called a few minutes ago and the employee that I spoke to said that I could bring him into the store. She then proceeded to tell me that I was Not training my dog correctly, how rude! I then told her that I have been training dogs for 6 years and she looked at me in shock. And then proceeded to look down at the ground and walk away without even a slight apology! Worst experience I have ever had at one of these stores. Unfortunately this happens all too often. read more
