I 100% knew I wanted to book JoAnn for my own wedding after having hair and makeup done for another wedding. And she never disappoints! The best stylist and makeup artist to have for one of the most important moments of my life! JoAnn and her assistant were amazing with hair and makeup for me and my bride squad!! My entire bridal party looked, and even more important, felt amazing; As did I!! Thank you JoAnn!!!!

JoAnn does wonders with makeup. She really listens to what you want and will suggest what looks good on you. I like my makeup to look more natural and maintain my skin color. She gave me what I wanted and really made me look and feel beautiful. I got so many compliment for my makeup. And to top it all up, JoAnn has this amazing personality. I will highly recommend her to anyone who's looking to get some professional makeup done.

Where do I even begin... JoAnn is a true artist. Not only is she a kind, and beautiful human being, but she is a master of her craft. I NEVER get my makeup or hair done for events because I'm afraid of the makeup feeling and looking caked on (which I hate) and no one ever does my hair right. So I wasn't sure if I was going to hire someone to do my hair and makeup for my wedding. But I did A LOT of research and kept coming back to JoAnn's website. The photos of the brides and other women she had done just drew me in. One thing stood out the most-- all the makeup looks NATURAL! And that's what I wanted. After contacting her and having such an easy and flawless reservation process, I knew I was in good hands for my big day. Her assistant, Crystal, was so nice, professional, and responsive. And when I met JoAnn for my trial (don't skimp by not doing a trial btw-- it's so important!), I was SO HAPPY. JoAnn was patient and attentive. She really wanted me and my mom to look and feel the way WE wanted. She encouraged constructive critique of my hair and makeup so we could make sure it all looked perfect-- it was collaborative and I LOVED that. She made the most important day of my life perfect. I am forever grateful for that. And she helped me feel beautiful. Bottom line is-- YOU NEED JOANN IN YOUR LIFE. If you're doing your research right now, look no further!

JoAnn is an absolute gem, not solely for her skills in her profession as a makeup artist, but also as a spirit in itself. She was very accommodating and flexible leading up to the wedding date, and I am still in awe of the look that came together and the journey it was to get there. It felt fated. I reached out to JoAnn initially in search of a hair stylist for my wedding day, for I thought that I had already settled on a makeup artist. My best friend thankfully was able to join for the hair trial with JoAnn (post makeup trial elsewhere; trials scheduled same day). While sitting under the dryer, my best friend and I chatted, ultimately recognizing that we thought I could do slightly more "wow" makeup for a wedding day. We agreed that the makeup done elsewhere was good, but a bit too everyday of a look. It became a no brainer to tie in a makeup trial with JoAnn. When she returned to check on me under the dryer, I expressed my thoughts on the makeup. She was able to candidly opine and give a sample taste of a pivoted vision right then and there about enhancing a look for more pop yet still remaining natural. I knew I was in good hands and based upon our general conversation during the hair trial, I trusted what would be the outcome. We set up a separate full on makeup trial with a fresh face to get the full vision and all I will say is that, it is one thing to know in the room together (you with the stylist), and another when the votes randomly come in off the street. I had further conviction that JoAnn was the one for the wedding day! Her patience with me, and her consultancy, were greatly appreciated during the process, and I look forward to having another chance to work with JoAnn again for other occasions!

I had only 6 months to plan my wedding and somehow JoAnn was still available for our super popular October wedding date. We had a trial back in May 2017 and I knew from the moment she walked into my apartment, I was going to book her. She wasn't the typical wedding makeup/hair stylist who wanted to charge a ton for not-so-wonderful results. JoAnn was knowledgeable, impressive, and used only top of the line products. I am the pickiest person when it comes to my makeup, and she was more than patient with me when I wanted things changed during the trial. In the end I was so beyond happy with how I looked, I ended my search and booked JoAnn immediately. Leading up to the wedding day, JoAnn was there for me whenever I needed to bother her with questions or concerns. On the big day, she was right on time, and we had an absolute blast getting ready. It was just my sister and my best friend (not a huge wedding party), and they absolutely loved how she transformed them for the wedding day. I myself felt flawless and got a million compliments. My hair and makeup literally did not budge the whole 16 hour day, through all the pictures and dancing. Besides her amazing talent, words cannot describe how kind, sweet, and generous JoAnn is. She truly cares about all her clients and her passion for her work shines through. THANK YOU JoAnn!! You were the greatest addition to my wedding day and I am so happy we got to work together!!

JoAnn is an extremely talented hair & makeup artist. As a bride with curly hair and vitiligo, I was dreading looking for someone to provide these services - but Joann made the experience so amazing. I knew from the trial that I had to book with Joann. She made my hair and makeup dreams come true & she made the getting ready portion of the day so much fun & relaxing. If you are looking to book with JoAnn, you can't go wrong!

If I was given one word to describe Joann its Exceptional! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding this past weekend 5.11.19 and I was beyond happy! She is so down to earth, makes you feel so comfortable and I'm my case she saved the day! I highly recommend her for any occasion! She enhanced my confidence and I felt like an absolute princess on my big day! My bridal party were so incredibly happy with their makeup and absolutely adored her! Thank you again Joann!

I came in with a clear reference photo for a soft, lived-in balayage with a blended root melt. Instead, the stylist used foils throughout my entire head and lifted the highlights directly to the root with no blending or root melt. There are a ton of blotches left all over my head where I left the salon with my hair looking worse than my arrival. The result looks very stripey, especially at the part line and around the face, and is quite different from the soft, dimensional balayage I requested. There was no gradual transition from root to blonde like in the inspiration photo I showed during the consultation. I understand that color results can vary slightly, but this felt more like a completely different technique than what I asked for. For a salon that positions itself as high-end, I expected more attention to blending and placement. Unfortunately, I'm now going to need to have the color corrected elsewhere. I'm sharing this feedback so others seeking a lived-in balayage style know to be very clear about the technique used during their appointment which I thought I did this as I used to be a stylist myself but I still ended up with the worst hair color results I have ever had. I reached out to customer service and since this is an independent salon they could not help me. I don't feel comfortable having these people fix my hair.

I came in for a consultation with Eddie (through a friend's recommendation) knowing that my hair color concept was unusual enough that I'd want to fully trust whoever was doing it. Eddie was immediately calm, funny and honest, and seemed to light up at my less conventional ideas. The fact that he gets genuinely excited about doing more unusual coloring jobs was a good sign, so I followed through. Anyway, he worked diligently, spoke me through his plan, and the results are awesome. He did a color block of half of my bangs in a very bright blonde, and added in complimentary highlights to bring it all together. The photo I'm posting is of right after the service, but even when my hair air dries and takes it's natural form, it looks so good. Unfortunately I had to rush out near the end of the service (and though I don't wish that pressure on him) he was super graceful about finishing up quickly while not sacrificing the end result. If you are looking to do something a little out of the ordinary or out of your comfort zone, definitely go to Eddie. He will not only do an amazing job, but also nudge you to be bold if you start to chicken out midway through the process like I always do. As for the salon, it was my first time so I don't have much to say, but everyone there seemed quite chill and friendly. Music was a bit obnoxiously Top 40 for a while, but once the salon got less busy, Eddie changed it. It's a bit small and intimate, but the coziness is nice. I'll be back :)

Considering I dealt with her some time ago and people are still leaving reviews for Sophia, Bellami needs to assess her employment here. Left the store crying after how I was treated. I emailed them months prior to book my appointment here for a color match and clip in installation because I'd be in town for Bridal Fashion Week. Went back and forth to figure out a time, and then I thought it was set. Maybe it should have raised a red flag that I didn't hear from them again but I assumed (wrongly) I was taken care of. When I came to my appointment this morning I don't even have words for the way I was treated. I am a manager of an appointment based retail shop and I would never think to treat a customer the way I was treated, even if they mixed up their appointment time (which I didn't, I have all the emails saying when my appointment was meant to be). I was essentially told even though it was entirely their mistake they'd be doing nothing to accommodate me. The girl at the front desk dealing with it was obscenely unprofessional. I had to walk back and forth with her while she tried to figure out the computers. I showed her the emails and she basically said I was wrong for thinking I had an appointment. I told her this was their mistake and she agreed, then said I could still buy extensions. Are you effing kidding me? After being ridiculed by you in the middle of the salon, for everyone to see? I was so excited about this, I told everyone how I was getting my hair done at the Bellami salon. Now I'll be telling everyone how Bellami treats their customers. Do better, maybe get some customer service training for your floor team.

For anyone with curly or wavy hair, I would describe the service here as very hit-or-miss when it comes to curly hair. My most recent appointment was especially disappointing. **Haircut** I booked with Michael Bergela, a master stylist, for what was supposed to be a simple trim. Instead, he cut my hair significantly shorter than I requested. This is the shortest my hair has ever been in my life, and I left feeling extremely insecure because short hair is not a look I feel comfortable with. I had clearly expressed that I prefer to keep my length. When I raised my concerns, I was essentially told to go back to the stylist who had previously cut my hair because there was nothing he could do. That response was frustrating considering I had just paid almost $500 and was leaving extremely unhappy with the result. We started with my hair completely wet, which made me nervous, but I tried to trust the process. I asked for my bangs to be blended a little more, and somehow that resulted in a substantial amount of length being removed from the rest of my hair. At the very least, I would have appreciated a warning that this was going to happen. I have seen plenty of people with long hair and bangs, so I still do not understand why so much length needed to be removed. I came in with length that stopped middle of my back and left with shoulder length. **Hair Color** Frank handled my color service. I intentionally wait a long time between appointments to minimize damage, meaning he was working with a significant amount of virgin hair. I explained exactly what I wanted, but after the color was completed and I was sent to be shampooed, Frank left before even seeing the final result or asking whether I was happy with it. I had been in the salon from around 11:00 a.m. until nearly 6:00 p.m., and after all that time, I was disappointed to see noticeable damage and a balayage that looked much thicker and less blended than I had requested. **Styling** Fiona did the initial styling. I have 2C/3A wavy-curly hair, which is not an especially difficult curl pattern to work with. However, my hair was left extremely frizzy with almost no curl definition. It honestly looked like I had rolled out of bed. After spending almost $500, I should not leave feeling like I could have achieved a better result at home. I expressed my concerns to Fiona and specifically pointed out the frizz and lack of curl definition, but she made no effort to correct it and simply LEFT AS WELL. By this point, the salon was nearly empty because most of the stylists had already gone home. It felt like the focus was no longer on providing good service but on getting me out the door. A second person, who I believe may have been an intern or assistant attempted to style my hair. She seemed very nervous, and I genuinely tried to be patient and kind. In fact, I found myself guiding everything how to style wavy/curly hair because I wanted to leave with my hair looking presentable. Michael even handed her a brush that was completely inappropriate for curly hair styling. I really just wanted to take over so I can leave already at this point. I am sharing this experience so that other curly-haired clients can make an informed decision. My most recent appointment left me with hair that was shorter than requested, more damaged than expected, poorly styled, and left me feeling far less confident than when I walked in but the issue wasn't just the hair itself, but how the staff handled my concerns. Instead of anyone taking the time to address my dissatisfaction or attempting to make things right, each person simply left, said there's nothing they can do and to go back to the person that previously cut my hair. I am not the type of person to leave negative reviews but I paid good amount of money and felt very insecure of my hair for days. Hoping I would get used to it but I'm just waiting for my hair to grow back now and doing a lot of hair masks.
