While I haven't used this company, I must believe that they will take good care of their customers based upon how they spoke to me. So impressed with the professionalism and honesty of Clark and Joe Cool! I originally had our Trane installed and serviced every 6 months by Maynor Service Company. Despite an installation hiccup, I used their annual service plan for the last 5 years. Once they started suggesting $500 UV lamps for the outdoor unit, I thought I should probably switch things up for a second opinion. My friends all used Joe Cool, and I am glad I do now too. Clark spent a lot of time going above and beyond, including taking off the original install seam glue for the upstairs unit (which never was) and accessing hard-to-access screws, indicating they never even cleaned the coil post-install once despite paying for it! No wonder they were always in and out in 15 minutes. But he took the time to do it right. Two things you need when hiring tradespeople- expert knowledge and honesty. The guys at Joe Cool were awesome. I called them at 8 AM Saturday, we were set to have the hottest weekend of the year and our AC went out. They had a tech at the house by 11 AM. Joe and Team just finished an Air Conditioner/Furnace replacement for me (2nd time - different house) and I can't be more satisfied with the work. Always honest about the best unit to buy for the value, and never tries to push higher price units if they don't fit the need. Joe and Ken arrived at the appointed time and did a great job. The town inspector even commented days later about how clean the work was and that they've never seen anything but quality work from Joe Cool's installations. After the install, Ellen's communications in setting up the inspection, giving you the documents needed for your rebates, etc is always on point and efficient. Joe Cool HVAC, Inc. (Garner) NC arrived on time today as scheduled 1/26/2022, and performed the annual heating, cooling maintenance on our two residential HVAC units in Turner Downes. The two company reps. demonstrated field craft skill and above satisfactory technical abilities. The lead technician was friendly, easy going, knowledgeable, and well trained in his duties. He was honest in diagnosing aging issues and longevity and advised of changes forthcoming within upgraded cooling fluids and associated design changes required nationwide in the near future. I look forward to their second visit to perform their spring service checkup and required maintenance. I recommend this company to any homeowner looking for quality workmanship. It seems our system likes to go out on weekends and holidays, we are realistic with our expectations and Joe always exceeds them. They did go through some growing pains in the recent past. Thanks to the recommendation of a friend, we had Joe Cool HVAC install a new Goodman gas furnace and A/C unit. The equipment reviews I had read on line stressed the importance of a knowledgeable and experienced installer. We were very pleased with the care and skill Joe and his team demonstrated in replacing these two units. In addition, customer service and communication were superb. The unit we had chosen wasn't available for the day installation was scheduled. At no cost to us, Joe upgraded us to a more efficient unit. The company also registered the extended warranty with Goodman (as I recall, from 5 years to 10 years). Finally, they completed and sent for our signature the Affidavit of Capital Improvement (NC E-589CI) so that sales and use taxes were waived. We bought a house with a 10+ year old HVAC system. Joe came out and looked at our system to make sure everything was running correctly and to tell us about converting to gas. It wasn't possible at the time to convert with the system we had and he made some good suggestions for future upgrades. Just two years later our system bit the dust and we needed Joe and his team ASAP. They came out and did the work quickly and disposed of our old unit. We were also able to get a rebate for our upgrade through Duke Energy. Joe also helped us with that. We are very pleased with our new furnace and air conditioner. I am appalled and beyond pissed! My folks have now been without their HVAC Unit for about 2 weeks now. Granted they do have a fireplace and we have them hooked up with wood for heat but a service tech from Joe Cool came out and basically raped my folks. They "diagnosed" the unit wrong. For a low fee of $600 Ordered and installed parts that weren't needed. For what? For the unit to still not work!!!! We got a second opinion involved, glad my folks actually took my advice & called another company in that I know are honest, dependable and loyal people, because now we know what's wrong with the unit. As soon as the cover was taken off, a hole in the exchange was noticed and a crack felt from beneath. I don't know anything about this company but I do know I couldn't sleep at night preying on the elderly... and I would stay clear from anyone that is blatantly dishonest as this!!! From here on out, anything that breaks and needs fixing, is going through us from this point forward... I can't give Joe Cool a high enough rating. They did a full HVAC and duct work replacement at our house in Garner. We got multiple quotes including some of the larger companies and all experts agreed that we needed a new system. Not only did Joe have a better price than any of those companies but he has many years of experience and is on the job with his team during the installment. Joe went above and beyond from the HVAC installment to fixing the filter covers inside the house. He even put a metal patch on our crawl space door which had a hole in it just to be nice. Expertise, efficiency, competitive pricing, they really did an amazing job. No one ever wants to hear that they need a new HVAC system but Joe and his team made the process as painless as humanly possible. I called to setup an appointment Monday evening. My AC unit has not been working properly for a couple of weeks. The guy who answered said he would have the office call me back the following morning to setup an appointment. Possibly Tuesday evening or Wednesday. After saying my name and address he seemed a little frustrated and said it will not be today. I said I understand I was just calling to set something up no rush. [Actually, I had not expected anyone to answer. I had planned to leave a voicemail.] A lady called back the following morning [9:45 AM]. She said she had my number but that he had forgotten my name and other information. I gave her my name and address/area. She asked what is going on with my AC unit [time or service varies based on service] and if I am flexible that day. I say 'yes I am flexible if you give me a call before you head over notice I can meet you at my home.' She says' Ok it's possible not 100% but likely that we can get you in today. We will give you a call if we are on that side of town.' I said 'ok I'll plan on it.' 'I said I was not concerned about the lack of specificity which is generally not a good thing.' Before I get off the phone she says 'if I decide to go with another company to give her a call back so they can cancel my call.' I say 'yes, of course.' [Note: I did not mention another company and I had no intention of shopping around. I just need service. I am willing to pay and wait for good service.] Minutes later, I get a call back [10:25] letting me know 'they could not take me on as a client because since my call their phones had been ringing off the hook.' So I said 'you can't schedule and appointment for later ever...' [Open ended on purpose because I've heard this I do not want your type of business call/tone]... The response was 'no we're a small company and we're just very busy right now.' [Understandable it's the middle of a very hot few weeks in summer.] I do want my AC fixed. However, I'm was not in an extreme hurry or rushing the appointment. So I couldn't understand why we couldn't re-schedule something for later... Even weeks or a month out. Nor why I am being rushed to use another company. Response no 'we just have a small crew...' So I repeat 'no appointments down the line ever...' Response, 'No, I'm sorry ma'am.' I think this is discrimination... After speaking twice and giving my name and address I'm not a customer that deserves service. Service time goes from Tuesday or Wednesday to never... Sad when you're name and race changes a person's attitude... Needless to say I would not want service of this type. I do appreciate their letting me know sooner rather than later. read more
