The car was only driven for 3 months, but was in a minor fender bender. The original estimator said every part of the body had scratches (I thought they were being extremely picky, because I had never noticed the scratches, but I was glad I was at a "picky" autobody place. Turned out that they did considerable damage to the car, but the fact that someone had written that every part of the car had scratches meant nothing was covered!! I recently had a minor scratch on a front bumper cover on one of my cars repaired at Joe Hudson's Collision Ctr (JHCC), 328 S US Highway 27, Lady Lake FL 32159. The repair work was good, but I thought the estimate was inflated somehow. Unfortunately, I didn't take the time to get a second estimate from another body shop. In early Jun'25, I took a friend's car JHCC for an estimate on a bumper cover, got an estimate, and then, went to Jenkins Collision Center, Leesburg, FL. The Jenkins' estimate was only $120 more, BUT rather than repairing the scratches, Jenkins' estimate included replacing the damaged bumper cover with a new OEM bumper cover and related and needed OEM parts (e.g., engine seal) and painting the new bumper cover. IN THE END, for the work needed, JOE HUDSON'S ESTIMATE WAS TOO HIGH. Also, aside from their estimator, who is vey personable, Joe Hudson's office staff should be counseled in courteousness, as they're not very patient with customers. I went into the Lady Lake, Florida shop this morning for an estimate. The man that did the estimate didn't even ask how this happened and lectured me on this won't be $200 to which I responded I never thought it would be. He went in wrote up the estimate (I am paying out of pocket) and the estimate was $2449. I said it was too much and he replied we won't do a cheap job. I even asked him if they would just sand off the cement on the car, repaint and leave the dents. (I scraped it on the cement on the side of my courtyard villa garage in the Villages). He would not agree to that, and I do understand why. But overall this collision shop may be great to gouge insurance companies but as a cash payer they tried to gouge me. I went down the street, the estimate is $700 to remove the 2 dents, sand, and repaint. It's a 2014 car and I'm sure It will look like it did before I scraped it. read more

I had minor damage to the front bumper from someone hitting it in a parking lot. I called for appointment to get an estimate. I was told I couldn't get an estimate without an insurance assignment number. I said it was minor damage and didn't want to put in an insurance claim. She told me it would cost me twice as much to fix if I paid out of pocket than if I filed a claim. I asked why and she just said it would be cheaper with insurance. I took my jeep here 2 years ago and paid out of pocket to fix and didn't have any issues. They fixed it like new. Will never go back here again. read more

While visiting my parents their neighbor backed into my 2013 BMW X3. I read reviews on other sites and discovered they are BMW repair certified. I went their for an estimate. First impressions are important. I stopped in there without an appointment and was impressed with the shop and professional appearance. Also at the front door I noticed the USAA five star rating, this is a big plus for me. I was greet politely and professionally and they did the estimate right away. Since I was the claimant they took all the information and made contact with the insurance while I was there. Mike Deeter was my service representative and provided excellent customer service. Once the insurance company approved the claim and reached an agreed cost for the repair Mike called me to make an appointment and order parts. The process was only a couple of days. I brought my BMW in at the appointed time and the contacted the rental car company for my rental (paid by the insurance company). My repair was basically cosmetic but still required quite a bit of work on a BMW. I could not be happier with the work they did. I am particular about my BMW and choose services that cater to high end vehicles. The Car Guys meet and exceeded my high standards. During the repair process, I received texts concerning the progress of the repair. This is a great touch. Mike called me that my car was ready for pick up. When I picked up my car not only did they expertly repair the damage, the also fixed up some of the minor dings on the sides of the vehicle an no extra charge. Additionally that detailed my car with the best cleaning my vehicle has received since I bought it. I am overjoyed with the service I received from the Car Guys. I could not be more pleased! Extremely professional! I had my brand new (1 month) Honda Insight sideswiped with both doors and quarter panel crushed in. I have just received it back in excellent condition. It was restored to basically new condition and paint was matched perfectly! They kept me very well informed every step of the way and the office and reception staff was extremely professional. Pete deserves an extra Kudo as he was very good at keeping me informed and explaining everything very thoroughly. I went here as my insurance company recommended them. I received a decent quote i little more than I thought but I'm new to Florida so maybe it's more here. After consulting with my insurance company and a possible increase in premium I decided I would pay out of pocket. I informed Joe Hudson's and they informed me the quote provided was only for insurance claim. A "walk in" would be more. I informed them I would have to think about it. The rep then informed me they would honor the original quote and we scheduled the repair. The day I dropped off my car a rep called me to inform me they could not honor the quote and that it would literally double the cost. I informed the rep I was told they would honor the original quote and he said he was not going to lose his job and that he's too busy to argue. I picked up my car and went to another facility and their "walk-in" quote was lower than Joe Hudson's insurance quote. I recommend to shop around its worth it. read more

I was hit by another drive resulting in my front bumper having to be replaced. My truck is a 07 Nissan Titan. I had it completely painted last year. 1. I informed the shop and was very clear that I expected the painted bumper color would match. It didn't and I need 3 trips to the shop to get it done correctly. 2. I was not satisfied with the installation of the bumper because it was not level as it should be. Once again I had to make several visits to get them to try to adjust it. I gave them pictures of the same truck and model so they could see what it should look like. They first claimed they couldn't adjust it and then said they would fix it. In the end it is still not satisfactory. Although they were polite I find their "lifetime" warranty not worth much. read more

I went to Car Guys as they were a referral from my insurance, I had a rear bumper and tail light replaced from a hit and run. The work was completed and I picked up my vehicle. I opened up my hatch and noticed it was not shutting properly. It appears they damaged the hatch when they completed the work on the van. The hatch was so out of alignment it was hitting the tail light and cracked it. I went back to them to try to get this corrected. I felt like they just did not want to take care of the issue. I called my insurance and reported the issue. They are being dishonest about this to my insurance company. I would not recommend them for any type of work. They did correct the alignment but will not replace the broken tail light. I did go back twice and made several calls to try to get appointments to correct this. read more
