This past weekend when I was sick, I ended up trying a lot of places to fix an A/C problem (where the blower didn't put out any air) and although some places I tried would have been able to fix the problem, those places were trying to over-charge me, so I decided to leave them and try some of the little guys a little out of my reach. My mother had known about this business (from using them about 10 years ago) and I was internally like "What do I have to loose?". Boy was I in for a rude awakening.
They told me to leave the kids in the vehicle and the show owner himself would take care of the car when he got around to it. I know a little about Elizaville, and although it seems like this "sleepy little town", theft is a big concern here (as there are few streetlights) - but off the small 2-lane County Route 8, I really didn't feel good leaving my keys where you told me to put them. Don't you have a key-board to hold all the keys of cars your servicing like most auto-mechanics do (what seems like) country-wide?
They found the problem and what was just overnight seemed like and eternity. We asked and we got results. They installed the new blower motor and I thought I was "back on the road".
Wrong-o! By that time, they only did the "cleanup" job only half-way. They hadn't put back the bracket for my glovebox (where the glovebox latches into). I mean, they put the bracket in my car, but not where it was originally found (they stashed it underneath the front seat until I and the employee (because I did go back) - oops - reinstalled it.) (They lost the original screws, but that's not a big thing.) If only I hadn't had a brother who had knowledge of these things inside a car, I probably would still have a glovebox that would keep dropping and I'd be running my Lyft car with duct-tape holding the glovebox up - and loosing tips and money otherwise. Oh Lord!
Still not too thrilled. What once was working on an unrelated part prior to service this past weekend, now doesn't work. Don't know why, but it could be a simple fix. Although my driver's side window has power and goes up and down manually, what once was a great feature to have (in power down AND power UP), now goes down with AUTO, but up is now a manual needs with holding the button.) If only I hadn't brought my car here, that would still be working right to this day. I'm not impressed when you broke something that was working prior to entering your shop. (I haven't re-entered to have this fixed, but I think this could be a simple fix (as such as a resistor or electrical problem), or this could-be a Nissan-only problem so I really don't know - I really did like that feature but I don't have the money to fix these things right now.
And although this place took about an hour and a half on "fix-it" day, they charged me for one hour, and not only that, when I showed them that I was paying fully in cash, he knocked off the tax and 90 cents from parts and labor to bring it to a nice round number (still over 230, but that was nice.) read more
