I met Joe when I did my smog test next door. My car is from 2011. I've taken my car to several shops before and felt like I was getting robbed with the pricing and the "list" I really needed to save my car. When Joe inspected my car, I was shocked with his fair pricing and his pure honesty. Joe will tell you what is urgent and what isn't. Last week my throttle body gave out, I towed it to Joe, and immediately he had it ready the next morning. Right before the Thanksgiving holiday! He makes you feel like family and important. A few days ago I went to leave and my car sounded weird. I was afraid to keep driving it and I stopped in to see if someone could tell me what was wrong. They called Joe out and immediately he knew the sound of my car wasn't good! He looked under the hood and identified the problem right away. He could see that my serpentine belt, along with some smaller belts were shredded and that the water pump and thermostat needed to be replaced. I also explained that another mechanic had glued in the broken bleeder screw in the reservoir and he mentioned that it may have to be replaced. In seconds he called the parts place and had a price for me to get the work done that was very fair and affordable, especially for a BMW. I ok'd it with my husband but I had already made up my mind because I got a really good and honest vibe from Joe. He never tried to aggressively talk me into having him do the work, but that's part of why I chose him. To my utter shock and surprise, he had everything done the next day, along with rebuilding the coolant reservoir-usually with other mechanics, no matter what work needs to be done, they have my car for a week. I felt safe driving my car the minute I left!! Then I mentioned an AC part we ordered and he offered to look at it and install my part if that's what it needed. He did that for the same price the supposedly "cheaper" place in South Central LA would've done it for and he topped off my Freon for free the next day. Now the AC is working perfect! I can't say enough great things about Joe and this business. He offered to give my 2001 530 I the once over to ensure that it stays in good running condition and I will definitely bring it in for that. This shop is a couple blocks from where I live but I really wouldn't want to take my car anywhere else even if I wasn't so close. Joe saved the day for me!! I was having trouble getting my car to pass smog check at the station next door (super convenient!) because my check engine light kept coming on. He did a smoke test on the EVAP system to efficiently identify where a leak was coming from and fixed the problem. He let me know there might also be another part I needed to replace, but had me drive the car first to reset the test systems to see if it was really necessary (always appreciate a mechanic not going in overkill with replacing parts). I got to about 55 of the 60 miles that he recommended I drive it when the check engine light came back on - so then we knew the second part did in fact need replacing. At least he tried to save me some money! I brought it back and he put in a new vent valve so I was able to pass my smog check. He even kept the car overnight after replacing the valve and drove it to reset the system checks himself to make sure that everything was in order after the repair. The smoke check, parts, and labor only came out to $300. Thanks so much Joe!! read more

I've been seeing Joe since I first arrived in Los Angeles way back in 1990, the result of a tip from a woman I was working with at the time. Back then I exclusively drove a 1974 Corvette Stingray. Later, in 2001, when my daughter was born, I bought a new PT Cruiser. My point in mentioning the cars (and the years) is that I am STILL driving both of them, all these years later, and that's in large part due to the honest, reliable, affordable care that my automobiles (and I) get from Joe.
