Are there any good restaurants in Fort Lauderdale? This was yet another mediocre restaurant during my 3 day visit. Omelette was nothing special, and the chili beans tasted sweet, not spicy. It almost tasted like sweet pickles, which was a total put off. There was no chili powder or comino flavor in their "homemade" chili. The hash browns were a clumpy, sticky mess, almost fried, mashed potatoes. Sadly, the toast was the best thing. Coffee was weak as tea and looked like dishwater. Had to go to Starbucks afterwards for a legit coffee. Decor is dated and cheesy, but service was friendly, and that's about it. read more

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. My wife and I waited about 20minutes just to get our drinks. When our server finally came back, I told her we were ready to order. Instead of taking our order, she told us to wait and walked back inside. We then sat there for another 20 minutes with no one checking on us. At that point, we had to go inside ourselves just to let the staff know we were leaving because no one ever came back to our table. The restaurant wasn't even busy, and our server only appeared to be handling a couple of tables. The lack of urgency, communication, and customer service was incredibly disappointing. We came expecting a nice meal and left without even ordering food. I hope management takes customer service more seriously because no guest should be left waiting this long with no explanation. I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was beyond disappointing. We were seated and waited 20 minutes just for someone to take our order. We finally let the older waitress know that we were ready to order, and instead of taking it, she simply said she'd be back. We then waited another 20 minutes, and no one ever came. When we finally decided to leave because we had been waiting over 40 minutes without even being able to place an order, the waitress suddenly acted concerned--but it came across as completely insincere. She had a smirk on her face that made it feel like she wasn't taking the situation seriously at all. By that point, we had finished our mimosas, were starving, and ended up having to get up and pay without ever being served any food. We were so excited to try Joe's Cafe, but instead we left feeling disappointed, dissatisfied, disrespected, and HUNGRY. We hadn't been at Joe's in a while because we don't live close. When we found out that our favorite person was working there, we decided we needed to make an effort to put it on our Sunday rotation when we are out east. I had a chicken ceaser salad wrap. It was so good! It didn't come with a side, but it did come with very tasty grapes. Give me grapes over coleslaw (bluch) any day! The wrap was jam packed with chicken and it was delicious. My husband had the cordon bleu chicken sandwich. He loved it. It came with hand cut fries. They were so good! Mary was our server and she was wonderful. The diner has charm and was very clean. I was very surprised I hadn't written a review for this restaurant, since this wasn't the first time I've eaten here. A friend of ours recommended this place. Since we were in the area and decided to try this place. Not a bad choice. There was a very extensive menu and our server was very good. Our server recommended the beef barley soup that I had. It was a good choice. I had a difficult time deciding on what I wanted, lots to choose from, I went with the chicken cordon blue sandwich. It came with fries, a pickle and coleslaw. The coleslaw, bla, I hate coleslaw, so the didn't send out. The pickle was pathec and half sour, but it tasted good. The fries were incredible. I ordered them well done well and I did something I don't normally do, I ate them all. The chicken sandwich was very good, good bread, fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked peice of chicken. My wife had a chicken ceaser wrap. It was stuffed full with chicken and she said it was really good. This was a good choice and we will be back when we in the area. read more

Arrived a party of 2, and Helen said just sit on that side, motioning her hand, and gave no menus. Reggie was nice and brought us silverware and napkins. Angie, our server, asked what we want to drink and I asked if we can please see a menu, "oh no one gave you one, wow". Interior was really cute, menu prices good - food was nice. Angie was attentive. The minute Angie saw we were close to done we received our check, one chicken cesar and one Californian breakfast (37$ + 5$ tip). But overall the environment was not inviting and the continued dismissive attitude from some of the staff was very off putting. Might be the area but it wasn't as welcoming as other restaurants. A cute diner if you're a local maybe but as a visitor it didn't feel as welcoming. read more

Joes cafe was a great. As soon as we walked in the hostess was very friendly. Got a large table for my family. The server was so friendly and kind she explained us the specials and was very accommodating to our needs including allergy preferences for how we need the food to be cooked. So we ordered and we got the food fast! I ordered the veggie omelette it comes with cheddar but I do it dairy free and it was made perfect. It came with potatoes and unfortunately they weren't cooked enough for me and my father in law felt the same. But my my bacon was cooked perfectly tipsy exactly the way I love it! My husband and other family members got the burger and they loved it cooked perfect and seasoned meat just right with a grilled bun and crispy fries. We all enjoyed it very much. We had a wonderful experience plus the atmosphere there is very festive for the season. We will be back thank you for a good experience! read more

Was dropping Family members at Port Everglades. Before we dropped them off, we all went to Joes Cafe. The coffee to me was weak, not very strong. Had a Bacon Eggs cheese omelette. The main appeal of this place is that they're open very early (6:30), and we're early risers. Also they're in a mall, so plenty of parking. The food is pretty plain, simple stuff (husband thinks the hashbrowns are really boring), and the friendliness of the servers varies, but they keep your coffee cup filled! Lots of cops eat here. I will say their biscuits are excellent and so are the coffee and fruit salad. We've mostly been sticking with omelets but I might try pancakes next time. read more

We stopped in after a Disney cruise and were very happy with the food and service at Joe's Cafe. The portions were large and the food was delicious. The service was amazing, Leslie was our server. We discovered Joea several years ago when our flight came in really late, and we were starving. We stopped in then, 5 years ago, and haven't stopped! This is our go to for breakfast no matter what time of day it is and they never disappoint. Ambiance is super cute with typical (and atypical) diner decor. Staff wear shirts with their names on the front and back, as opposed to badges. All the ladies (servers) had their own personal quirk, and our server Angie had on a heart necklace for Valentine's Day. She was very warm and welcoming, almost motherly. You can tell the employees love working here and love to serve their customers! Food is excellent for the price, portions are HUGE and hearty, and DELICIOUS!!!
