Unfortunately, we ended up leaving after waiting about 10 minutes at the hostess stand without being greeted or acknowledged. It was a nice crowd and the atmosphere seemed lively, but it didn't appear so busy that someone couldn't at least come over and say, "Hi, we'll be with you in just a moment." Even a quick acknowledgment would have made a big difference. We completely understand that restaurants can get hectic, and we're always happy to be patient, but not being acknowledged at all made us feel a bit overlooked. I ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich and it was delicious! The side of hash browns and the flavor of the biscuit made this the breakfast meal I was hoping to have! Just what you hope to have for brunch. So here is the bad part, my server was not very friendly. I felt like my presence was a bother and like she did not want to be at work that day. We were not difficult guests, we ordered fast, we enjoyed our food and left and are easy to serve but for this reason I had to give this place a big knock. I had been looking online at this restaurant for a while. The family was off from work and school today, so we figured to pop in for breakfast. The steak and eggs were great, cooked very well. The cheese grits were amazing. The omelette was good, my only suggestion would be to use real eggs instead of egg beaters. The French toast was super filling so we had to take half home. We came on a Sunday and it was definitely busy, so I recommend joining the waitlist if you're short on time or simply hungry and don't want to wait 40 minutes to an hour. After a killer workout, my friends and I were starving and looking for a spot to grab lunch and cowork. We decided on Java and Jam because it was close by and had a varied menu that would satisfy anyone's craving regardless of it it was breakfast or lunch. Ordered coffees for the office on 5/20 around 11am, and unfortunately had a really poor experience with the employee working the coffee station. I ordered a dry cappuccino, and he responded with "What does that even mean?" after I explained it meant light milk. The entire interaction made me feel like I was inconveniencing him just by ordering coffee from a coffee shop. When the drink came out, it was literally just a cup of warm milk with no espresso in it. I walked back down to let him know, and the response was simply, "Oh did I?" -- no apology, no effort to remake it properly, no refund, and honestly no customer service at all. Really disappointing because I actually love the restaurant and brand overall, but the coffee experience was completely unacceptable. God forbid you order coffee from a coffee shop. The only good part of this experience was the service. I did not enjoy one single other element. My cappuccino came lukewarm, if not, on the colder side. It was disappointing but it took so incredibly long to come I didn't want to send it back and wait for another. Then I got the eggs Benedict and the egg was overcooked and the hollandaise was COLD and also very lemon forward. It was disgusting honestly, I didn't feel well after eating it.
