So i started out with joe not knowing anything about driving. Ive never driven a car before. I didnt even know detailed traffic rules. In a matter of about 6 lessons over the course of a month or so I was able to successfully drive and understand all traffic rules. Joe really helped me become a better driver he really focused on the mistakes i did and did his best so I dont repeat them. Called 3 different local schools and Joes was the only one to return my call within 24hrs. Still waiting for one of to call me 3 months later, I don't think they will call me at this point. Joes had the best deal and seems to be the most knowledgeable of the two schools I talked to. We booked the behind the wheel with Joes, I requested a female instructor to teach my daughter thinking it didn't really matter and a female would make my daughter more comfortable. Paula showed up on time and did what they do. We drove with my daughter as well for practice, not as much as we would have liked. After her 3rd time with Paula she got a piece of paper saying she passed and was basically ready. NO WAY IN HELL WAS SHE READY. I called and talked to Joe himself, we agreed I would pay for one more 2 hr session with Joe. He agreed not only was she not ready but recommended a second session, I agreed with him. She got her license today !! yay I think, I got a nice little bump in car insurance and I am sure I wont see my car much when I am home. Definitely use Joes but try to get Joe himself, the way the trains was better according to my daughter and he has far more experience. After doing some research on local driving schools, I decided to go to send my nephew to Joe's Driving School based on recommendations from several local residents. I called to make an appointment and the woman who answered my call was very patient and informative which gave me a warm fuzzy feeling about the school. Joe was also very patient with my nephew and had a great sense of humor which made my nephew feel at ease during the entire process. And in the end, he passed his test on his first try. I called a few places around the area before I called joes The lady that answers the phone was very professional And guided me thru the whole process since it's my first Child doing this driving thing she was very patient and informative. My son really enjoyed doing the drivers ed class it was easy and fun he did not have to read since the system does it for you ! For the driving lessons my son got the lady Paula she showed up in a new Toyota Corolla so my son was happy about that ! He learned a lot on the first lesson Paula was patient and professional she took her time and made sure my son was comfortable and that he learned well at the end of each lesson Paula Talked to me and told me exactly what my son needed to work on ! Decent driving teachers, horrible service. Normally, when you call their company number, a very friendly women picks up to assist you from (9am -5pm). Sadly, this isn't always the case. Unknowingly, unaware of the closing time, I called at 8pm one day, to try to schedule a last minute appointment for myself. Obviously, since their closing time was 5pm, the call went straight to voice mail, prompting me to leave a message. Unfortunately, I have a problem with my cell phone,which causes calls to drop randomly. I must of recalled about 3 or 4 times, just to leave my message. But the 4th time I called, it was answered by a man! He spoke to me with a angry tone, frustrated why I was calling his "personal phone" so late. Shocked, I thought I called the wrong number. But that wasn't the case. He was very aggressive in his speech and kept ridiculing me about calling so late for an appointment. He even yelled at me about me seeing wife, which I assume is the women who normally picks up company calls. Tell me, who uses "one phone line" for both their company and personal life? I am very upset I was treated this way. Even if it was a misunderstanding, customers shouldn't be treated like this. All I wanted was to schedule a driving appointment. My 17yr daughter trained with Joe for the first time really. Her permit was up in a month. Joe wasn't positive she'd pass if we didn't practice more while he trained her. Three times and she learned the basics from him. It was very helpful for me to take it from there. She passed a day before her permit expired, on the first try! We had a terrible experience with Joe's Driving School. We used them many years ago for my oldest child, and other than the long break the instructor takes in the middle of the lesson, things went OK. We decided to use them for my second child and it it was an awful experience! For the first lesson Joe came to our house 10 minutes late, saying that he couldn't find our house and had to park a block away. I thought this was strange because he drives the same area for a living and had been to our house for our oldest child. He had our son drive back to his Glendora office where he took a 30 minute break, and told our son he was,"doing paperwork," Then he returned our son to our house 10 minutes before his appointment was up. I thought this was strange, and that his timing cut almost half of our sons driving time out, but we figured it would be better at the next appointment. For the second lesson, Joe was 10 minutes late again, with no excuse given this time. He again parked a block away and then had our son drive back to his Glendora office for a 30 minute, "paperwork session," while my son waited. He brought him home on time this time. When my son got home he told me that when Joe picked him up there was a man in the backseat (is this why he parked a block away from our house?), and that Joe had my son drive the guy to his house, no explanation given. What?!?! I called their office the next day to ask who the man was in the car during my 16 year olds lesson, and was told by the girl that this was strange because the NEVER do piggyback lessons (her words). She then put me on hold, and told me she was going to ask Joe about it. A few seconds later, Joe picked up the phone, and he was obviously not happy with me for questioning why a strange adult was in the car while my son was taking his lesson! He started screaming at me that the man was a student and that he could prove it to me by showing me paperwork. He was literally screaming at me. I have never had a business owner behave like this, so it was really unnerving. I told him that were unhappy with the stranger being in the car, student or not, and that I also felt like he was cutting into my sons driving time with his lateness and long breaks. He screamed, " Are you going to let me talk?" even though I had barely finished one sentence. So, I let him rant for five minutes about having students drive other students home and about it's a human right to take a bathroom break in the middle of a lesson, a 30 minute "bathroom break," mind you. When he was finished with his tantrum, I told him that the reason I had called him to discuss my concerns was that I would rather talk to him than leave him a bad review. All of a sudden he calmed down, as if he suddenly realized that I could share how he was acting with other people. He then told me that he would add time to my son's third and final lesson because he had been late to the first two sessions. This whole experience freaked me out. I didn't want my son in a car with this man, and my son asked me not to put him in a car with this man. I didn't know what to do, being that we had paid for three lessons with this company and I didn't know if a new company would even let us do only one lesson with them. I called and asked if we could change instructors to Martha for my sons last lesson, and they let us do that. Martha was fine, I didn't like that her car was pretty rough (she had to cover the drivers seat with a towel), and that she answered a personal call during the lesson (though she did tell the person on the phone in Spanish that she couldn't talk). We were never given the extra 30 minutes of lesson time to make up for Joe's lateness, but we were just glad to be done with this company. I have another child coming up who needs driving lessons and we will definitely find a new company for her lessons. read more

I think this school is excellent! My driving instructor was Martha, and she taught me well. She was very strict at first because she wanted to make sure that I learned properly, and I did. By the third lesson, she was telling me how she was certain that I would pass my driving test. She was right! I passed my driving test first try at the West Covina DMV. She definitely knows what she's doing, so I highly recommend this school if you want to learn how to drive. read more

Great teaching, very bad service. I was upset with service. The service rep, She always informs with tone that "this is only time you can get because we are busy". Even the driving instructor wanted to change time for his convenient/profit, she has to tell us "do you want to get this time thT we only have? Or just cancel it then?" Do not send your child to this company. For our very first lesson, a day before it the company called us to ask if we could reschedule our appointment at a later date with them. We said we couldn't and were surprised they would even ask that. After the first lesson my son was told to schedule his driving test a month later after he had finished his first lesson with this company so they could schedule his next two lessons closer to the driving test. Twenty days before the driving test the school called us and told us they had no available time to do any kind of lesson for my son. May I remind you these lessons are 2 hours each. They couldn't even fit in a 4 hour lesson for my son before his test which he was looking forward to taking very much. In the end we canceled the test and waited till our next lesson which didn't come for another 30 days. After the second lesson we scheduled the driving test again, another 30 days from the second lesson. Took the final lesson 2 days before the test and my son passed with flying colors. Joe's driving school was a waste of our time. Only because the DMV requires those 3 lessons did we stay with this school. Do not send your children to this school!!!! read more

Being as a young adult it was hard for me to find someone that would be willing to teach me to drive, Both family and friend help me here and there but it wasn't enough to pass the behind the wheel test, so i made a decision to take Joe's Driving School. Joe is very friendly and very approachable. his vehicle is up to date and i had no problems with anything. he taught me very valuable tips and help me to understand about the rules of driving. He's very patient and cool headed. i absolutely recommended his school! For being a 20 year old this i was the best decision i made! i pass my behind the wheel test on the first try, Having a great instructor such as Joe and 6 hrs of driving and 1 more before the test does wonders. My son's permit was set to expire in two weeks, but he had not practiced much since he had been at college out of state. Joe's Driving School scheduled 3 lessons and a DMV appointment within 8 days time. After two lessons there was already a noticeable difference in his driving. He was more alert, aware and cautious than he had been before. After the third lesson he was pretty much ready for the driving test. We practiced for about 3 more days on our own, then he went to DMV and passed on the first try! Joe gave him a lot of valuable tips on what they watch for in the driving test, and just generally increased his confidence that he was ready and knew what he was doing. When you rent their car for the driving test, they pick you up an hour early for your DMV appointment and give you a practice session. We were very happy with our experience. Look no more! I am a believer of this school. My wife passed her DMV driving test at one of the more notorious DMV offices for failing drivers on their driving test (West Covina) on her first try. A few weeks ago I started letting my wife drive us to short errand trips. I could tell she was nervous and needing lots of practice and guidance. She contacted this school and was assigned Martha as her driving instructor. After 3 sets of 2 hour sessions with Martha she was told that she's ready for her DMV test. On the day of her test, she had another 1 hour session with Martha to get ready. Well SHE PASSED! Martha has been a really excellent teacher and I do highly recommend her. My wife had zero driving experience yet here she is licensed (to speed? jk) Yesterday I again had my wife drive us for our grocery trip. What a big difference! She was more composed, relaxed and smooth. Even parking was great and straight. Hey I was relaxed too! I felt like I could have put my feet up on the dash board hehe. That's really a testament to the kind of instruction she got from Joe's Driving School via Martha. So if you are looking at yelp trying to find a good driving school, give these guys a try. Look for Martha! She is the best! Yes the 5 stars from 3 reviewers made us skeptical at first. But now we know why. It's well deserved. read more

Let me start off by saying that I am so happy i went to Joe's driving school! I had gotten my permit April 2013, and hadn't really gotten any driving practice in. My boyfriend has a stick shift car, (which by the way i give so much credit to those who know how to drive stick! It is impossible and so hard to learn! Believe me i tried and FAILED!) Anyways it was March 2014, YES almost a whole year passed and i never went to take my driving test. With my permit expiration date looming over me, i had to quickly scramble and learn how to drive.. I looked up SEVERAL driving companies and most had bad reviews or weren't near me. I called Joe's driving school, stated that i had about a month until my permit expired and i needed lessons as soon as possible, Joe's and his wife booked me really quick and i took on the 3 lessons. Joe gave me tips and i really learned to drive with him, he was friendly and very knowledgeable. He was professional and I got so accustomed to driving his car that i paid the extra fee to drive his car & he set up my driving test appointment!! I was SO NERVOUS, Joe was right there though to support me, throughout the morning of my test he told me "You can do it", "I know you can do this", encouragement is what i needed, so thank you Joe. And obviously I PASSED!!!!!! Joe's so sweet, and his business is obviously family run, when he found I passed he text his wife and he told me she said congratulation (HOW SWEET IS THAT!?). I really liked the instructor Martha. She was very patient with me and just a very friendly person over all. I told her exactly what i was struggling with, and where i had error in my driving and she helped me correct it over and over till i got it right. She took time to draw out sketches and show me what was what and she was just exactly what i needed, doing her job correctly. read more

I was taught by joe about a year ago. I took the online classes and behind the wheel trainings through Joe's Driving School. He was a great teacher and had a great personality. I passed both the permit test and driving test on my first try. I had a couple friends go to Glendora Driving school on Arrow highway and they hated it.
