All of my orders are awesome. I generally order my pizza well done, but that guarantees it stays warmer on the way to me.

I had not been to a Joe's Pizza in many years... Having grown up in PWC, I was familiar with them and their famous Hot Hippie Rolls, as well as their famous Zep subs. So, when in Manassas recently and near one, I stopped in for a hippie roll. I didn't see it on the menu, but I asked the guy if they still sold the Hot Hippie Roll and he said yes. Basically, he made a fresh mild sausage roll. But it was still very tasty and piping hot and fresh too! It's a nice, portable meal as it comes wrapped in aluminum foil, you just unwrap the portion you want to bite and hold the rest in the foil. It came with a nice and tasty marinara too. This particular Joe's is in the "hood" part of Manassas, but he was friendly and the food was decent. It's definitely a much different vibe than the original style of Joe's though, as this was a combination Mexican bakery too - odd... But what I got was good. read more

This is my first time in my life creating a yelp account to leave a review. I genuinely try to talk to the business first but tonight I had to do this for others in the community. I spent $21 for a supreme steak and cheese with fries. Fries were fine, but the sandwich was the real crime. Here are my list of issues: the bread was over cooked, the portion size of the onions were larger and clunkier than the portion size of the meat given, and the banana peppers were bountiful than the meat given. For a sandwich priced as 'supreme' I can safely say it was more toppings than a steak and cheese sandwich. I called to respectfully ask for a refund and the gentleman who answered stated he'd rather give extra meat on my next visit than a refund. I told him that I wouldn't return. Kept passing this pizza place: it looks like a fishing shack. People would mention it in passing as great New York pizza. In passing or 'passable'? Because the second it is not. Not even remotely. It is not New York pizza. It's Manassas sweat smelly, no fresh ingredients style. They get the meat from a butcher? Well, that butcher must be selling out of his trunk, with funk, because he has no freezer-truck to transport it in. Pizza slices are big, but are placed in the oven without a tray - pretty sure my body's metal, not to mention, alkali and aluminum content just rose unhealthily! I've lived here for 3 years and around the beltway 5 years. I know where to go to for some NY style pizza in my home state next door. I finally found the closest thing to NY pizza in this town without being in NYC. ( Yes, yes, I've tried the others around here. I swear those high reviews are from peeps that must be townees.) The heavy, sloppy, cheezy slices. The thin sliced italian sausage strips. Oh yum! I tried their specialty Rustica with the pads of ricotta cheese and carmelized onions..... I tried the spinach and mushroom.....italian sausage and mushroom....tuna salad with house dressing...chocolate cake......none of these dissappointed. *See the pics* Everything delivered ahead of estimated time of delivery and hot. Highly Disappointed! A family members $3O.OO WASTED! Joe's Pizza USED to be so good until they CHANGED/ SWITCHED owners. I had an issue multiple times but I LIKE FOOD .. We have been ordering from this Joes since the 1990's Today I called at about 2:35 pm, it is now 4:21 pm I have no pizza. I have called them back twice. The driver has/had car issue before I ordered my pizza, they didn't bother telling me that until I called back. I called back a 2nd time and was told it will be here in 17 minutes. Last time I order from them. There are other sub and pizza shops in Manassas as for Joe's Sooooo long your food was good, but a 2 hours plus delivery time. read more

First time ordering delivery from here. We were extremely disappointed. Even just opening the bag, some of the food packaging was squished. The supreme steak and cheese sub... None of the veggies were 'grilled', there were no banana peppers (instead they had jalapeño), the meat had no flavor to it. My boyfriend didn't even finish the second half of it because it was so disappointing. I ordered the Joes grilled chicken sandwich, it was just as disappointing. The chicken was dry and was just two large chunks of chicken. The bacon seemed only half cooked. The roll was soggy. Just not good at all. And the fries that were with it were just ok. We also got breadsticks and hot wings to try. Horrible. The breadsticks were hard as a rock, and no marina was with it. The hot wings had literally no sauce on them. And they were dried out. Excellent pizza! Thin and crispy (not burnt) crust, easy to eat and flavorful. A lot of good menu items....cheese slice was excellent, pepperoni caused a little bit of an oily look but who doesn't like oil? ;-). I will definitely return to try other pizza and menu items! Limited indoor and outdoor seating but location has charm and character. Workers were friendly and work at a good pace to complete orders as promised. read more

This is the third time I've ordered from Joe's pizza Grant Ave in the last 2 months and have been sorely disappointed 1st the meat Stromboli had very little meats but full of ham , 2 slices of cheese and a slice of Italian sausage all crust burnt black and hard as cement, now today I ordered a lg. pepperoni pizza for pickup and the entire crust is tough and hard to chew like the dough was overworked or old and the toppings just slid off every time you took a bite( I was so embarrassed that I took this to a family get together, everyone complained!)$16 wasted. I have eaten here for 15 years but of the last couple years the quality and pride in product is gone. I won't be back! read more

I'm knocking down the review to 3 stars after trying other things on the menu. On Thursday I tried one of their pasta dishes, and maybe it was my fault for doing so, but it was a spicy pasta dish (the sauce consisted of something like arrabiata or diavolo sauce, with baked chicken, shrimp, and sausage), cooked with spaghetti, and came with bread and I order some breadsticks. The food was reasonably priced, but I was not impressed. The sauce was extremely dominating and had a lot of fire to it, but it was way too rich and overpowered the rest of the dish. The shrimp, which was really good, was really limited to only 4 prawns. FOUR! The chicken, which was baked, had no taste to it. The sausage was great, but the sauce ruined it for me. Lastly, the pasta was very, very undercooked. I don't think they let it boil too long before taking it out of the strainer. The bread was decent, but overall the meal stunk and I was still hungry afterwards. I will try their pizza again, and if it stands, will leave it at 3 stars, but lets hope the pizza is still good, because that's part of the reason I wanted to give this place another go. read more

This place has been my go to for years....until recently. They have just absolutely cratered in the last six months to the point where i just can't order from them anymore. It's not just that the quality of the food has tanked (Food Lion closeout would be an improvement in materials) but the service is awful. Let's start with service. Depending upon who answers the phone they might deliver to my house...or might not. So I went to strictly picking up from them....and they couldn't get that right. I ordered via grub hub and they didn't know how to receive the order. The next time I called directly and was told to pay when I got there. When I showed up the food was not ready and I was told they don't make the food until it's paid for. WTF! YOU GUYS TOLD ME TO PAY FOR IT WHEN I SHOWED UP. The food. I used to think of the Joes hero as a food group. The last two I have ordered were someone else's order...I think. Unless roast beef with mustard lettuce tomato and pickles is the new hero. The potato wedges have been uncooked the last couple of orders as was the pizza. Throwing it in the oven here finished it off...but I should not have to do that. They co distantly send me bad pizza cold from trying to deliver too many at once that the pizza was old. But refuse to give back money or make it right. Messed up my calzone, gave me a hard and made over but still left out toppings I paid for. It's about time that I wrote an updated review for Joe's, and I'll throw them an extra star as well. Why? Well, it's not that anything has really changed here since my review 2.5 years ago. They're still located in the sketchiest part of Manassas, and I would NEVER recommend eating there. I do pick-up orders here a lot and it's not that bad, but I'd still recommend that the ladies take a buddy with them to pick up. I still think they're the best chicken parm and Italian cold cut subs you can get delivered, and their buy 2 get 1 free Monday Night deal is still a tremendous deal. If there is any reason for the upgrade, it's one of two things. First, their Sicilian-style pizza is the go-to pizza for the wife and I now. If you love that deep thick crust square goodness, you'll love it. It's worth the little bit extra in price and cooking time. Trust me. And the other reason is that Joe's is, without a doubt, the most consistent delivery option in Manassas. All that yummy sub and pizza goodness done consistently right night in and night out deserves a 4th star in my book. read more

Tonight I ordered a steak and Cheese sub with everything and if I could give could give zero stars I would!!! The absolute worst subs ever!!! They just threw all ingredients on the the sub minus an adequate amount of meat!!! I always order here and the last two times have been terrible!! I have ordered from this Joe's for many years. I introduced my fiance to it two years ago and he can't get enough of their pizza. They are always so friendly from here and always recognize us when we go and pick up our order. It is in a horrible location. I will not go alone to pick it up. My fiance and I go pick it up together and we have never had a problem. If you pick up, the large pizza is only $10 dollars. If you get it delivered, it is $15. I like saving the $5 dollars. :) We have had many things from here. My favorite is the hot Zep. Absolutely delicious and a must! My fiance just loves their pizza and he says nothing compares to it. Their garlic bread with cheese is good. While their steak and cheese is decent, it definitely isn't the best I have ever had. I don't care for their fries. I will eat them but, I am not a fan of their seasoning they use on them. I enjoy their small side salads from time to time. I have gotten there chef salad a long time ago and it was good. Their gyro's are delicious as well! I got there hamburger sub once before and it was just too much meat. I couldn't finish it. Their canoli's and carrot cake are good as well if you need something sweet. We are always please when we get food from here and will continue! read more

I used to love Joe's Pizza on Grant Ave. and believed it had the best local pizza. Customer service has gone out the window recently and I am waiting more than an hour for delivery these days. Additionally, my pizza has been delivered with cheese spilled to the side multiple times. When I spoke with someone about my concerns recently, they said that this is the way it is and hung up on me. Go to a more professional establishment if you want decent customer service and pizza that is delivered in less than an hour. read more

This USED to be the best. Yes the location sux and the pizzas are very good. However, our last pizza could have been a "white" pizza (that's not what we ordered) because there was hardly any tomato sauce on it. We do have the carry out one item special, but that's gone up a few bucks in the past year or two. I was kinda creeped out when I called last time, and they said, "Is this Pitbull [addressing me by my real first name, tho]?" since it had been at least a year since I called them. I'm from NYC. My mother and I stopped by on a whim and were glad we did. Can't speak to anything else but the cheese slices. They're legit NYC-style crust. Chef was super nice. Cheese, sauce, bend -- everything I miss from home. Definitely will be back for a slice. read more

LISTEN UP, MANASSAS FOLK. I've lived here LITERALLY my whole life, and for twenty-three years I've been driving past this little hole of a place. About six months ago, I decided to try it. I told my story to Mike, the owner, who's family has been running this same location for 30 years. He says everyone says that. I ask him what's good. He says, "Everything." He tells me to order a Spicy Italian sub, and simply makes me promise: if I like it, tell people. I've since been back dozens of times with dozens of friends and tried most of the menu, and everyone is consistently SHOCKED at how GOOD this freaking food is. The Spicy Italian is the best sub I've had in my life, and I've had subs on 4 different continents. They make all their doughs from scratch, hand-toss their pizzas, get whole sides of beef delivered from a butcher to make their cheesesteaks. This stuff is incredible. And it's been right here, under our noses, all along. I used to bring out-of-town visitors to Tony's on Mathis Ave for a uniquely Manassas small business eatery. Now I bring them to Joe's. Haven't been here in about a year; was in the neighborhood and thought I would give it a try. Outside there are picnic tables which replaced the tables and umbrella. One of the tables was occupied by some of the locals. Two of four smelled of alcohol- one was sleeping on and off the other would get up and stumble; talk loudly and just wreaked of alcohol. The other two men just looked around. Seemed friendly. Upon entering I noticed the interior was a lot brighter - new lighting maybe- didn't smell like a pizza joint either- absence of smell actually- nice and cool temperature especially being 100 outside. Greeted immediately by a young man. He was friendly and nice. I didn't recognize any of the staff; wondering if a change of hands maybe? More drink options filled both well stocked coolers. I ordered and waited 7 minutes for my to go meal. Went outside to soak up some sun. Surprisingly no flies or bees. Pleasant other than the 4 men yelling at people in the parking lot and onthe sidewalk. My gyro was huge! The meat was spiced just right and juicy. Pita was warm and the sauce was perfect! Only thing missing plasticware and napkins. I wasn't thrilled with getting a styrofoam box in a PLASTIC bag either. My gyro was great! Hit the spot! I'll be back for something different. Friendly staff and great to go grit! Now to get them to use a more environmentally friendly to go packaging! Umbrellas to make the patio a little more friendlier and inviting. Clean inside!
