Food: This bakery is a small chain and seems like a local favorite in Long Island. I am not from the area but came here for a wedding cake tasting recently and also picked up a few items. There was a constant long line of customers during our wedding cake tasting. Bakery items are fresh and good quality. My favorite item was the hazelnut eclair and chocolate eclair with vanilla cream. Both were delicious! Service: Staff were friendly and helpful during our cake tasting. Ambiance: This is a pretty large bakery with a few tables and chairs for eating. I still decided to try it out! wait time was about 25 minutes until we got serviced. We got an individual cheese cake ($6), french pastry (oreo solo cheesecake) ($7.45), elephant ear ($6,75), and small iced coffee ($4.50). it was 4 items for $25. Visiting Buttercooky Bakery on 6/25 and 6/28 brought about an increase in stars and better experience. Stepping inside of this magnificent dessert emporium I became perplexed by the variety of desserts and pastries that were very desirable and readily available. In the words of Vinnie Barbarino, I'm so confused (IYKYK). It's a different setup that causes the line to move faster than it used to, I see the improvement. The ordering is done in one place and cashing out is next to it, in the same area. You still walk in and head straight to the display cases where you pick you pleasure. I did not pick my names sake only because it slipped my mind due to me being focused on breakfast. No, I don't eat cakes for breakfast. I picked up a couple croissants, apple turnover, a couple of cheese Danishes, and an almond croissant. Service was prompt and the employees were attentive as well as pleasant. I like how they approach the counter and inquire about your status versus staring at you letting you try to figure out if someone is going to help you or not. At the check out, there's the coffee station or tea. I ordered 2 French Vanilla coffees, to say the least the French vanilla flavor seemed distant to none. On the second trip it was exact same coffee request with the same results. An improvement needed is to have different sweetners for the coffee. Not everyone wants white sugar or sweet n low. I was online waiting to be assisted today 9/20/2026, and an African American young man walked past me and asked "who is next on line" he went to the people Behind Me. And I said I'm next and he smugly said to me that I didn't speak up. I told him you walked past me and never gave me eye contact. Stopped by Buttercooky Bakery in Floral Park, NY for a little after-work pick-me-up and coffee date after seeing their rainbow pignoli cookie all over social media. Of course, I had to try it for myself. Honestly, it was just okay. The cookie looked beautiful, but I felt like it was a bit dry and could've used more jam and pignoli nuts for better flavor and texture. We also ordered the strawberry cheesecake, and that was definitely the highlight... it was super creamy, rich, and filling - chef's kiss. To drink, we got their house iced coffee...one light and sweet with creamer and the other with almond milk. The flavor was decent, but both drinks had way more ice than actual coffee, which was a little disappointing. The atmosphere was fine overall, though I did notice several employees sipping on Starbucks drinks while we were dining in, which felt a little odd at a bakery/coffee spot. Beautiful desserts. No prices listed anywhere lol. The drip coffee is $3-4, and the espresso is $3.5. The tres leches eclair is $6.5, and the bowl is $9.75. Ordered the bowl because the person assisting me couldn't tell me much about the consistency of the eclair. The tres leches bowl has fresh strawberries and blueberries on top. Do try the Chocolate Tiramisu French Pastry (see photo below). It is made with white imitation rum and dark chocolate. It is the only dessert that I liked of the four that I and my Yelp Elite dining partner tried: the Pignoli Cookies, the Pistachio Croissant, and the Pistachio Sunflower French Pastry are the three others. I would return to this bakery, just to reorder the Chocolate Tiramisu French Pastry. I was floored by how good it was. The imitation rum powered the pastry, and the dark chocolate tasted high in quality. Kaylen was our server, and she helped us decide what to select by providing us her recommendations. My obsession with this bakery started in July when I tried the most delightful fluffy yellow cake! I'm obsessed with baking and will only eat treats when they're the best. Took me until the fall to convince by boyfriend to take me! I work from home so we were there bright and early. I highly recommend early. Looks like some people had service issues when it's busy. I was here recently late afternoon and it was slammed but there's so many people working. I didn't wait too long to be helped. I love the biscotti here! Especially the one with white chocolate. Just tried the rainbow cookies and they were stellar! I've had the Opera cake and the pumpkin cheesecake and both were out of this world! But 89% of people on Long Island hooked up (early on- before the USA was going out of business) with union jobs, cops , LIRR, Town / State workers so everyone is fairly well off to super rich with that retired teacher pension from Syosset / Plainview / Port Washington. Maybe it's silly of me, but when you're paying premium prices, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the product to look like it's advertised and like it has on past orders. I reached out to Buttercooky Bakery to express my concerns, and the response I received was essentially, "Well, it's still tiramisu." For me, that's missing the point. Presentation and quality matter, especially from a bakery that's built its reputation on both. If I just wanted a tiramisu cake, I can get it from just about anywhere, even Costco! But, for that price, I'm also paying for the design and presentation. I grew up celebrating every special occasion with cakes and desserts from Buttercooky Bakery, so this was especially disappointing. And the new people seem happy with what they're getting. Mango this and passion fruit that. The buttercream and cake wasn't the usual fluffy cream and lighter cake I like. My kids didn't notice. I'll just stick to my staple which hasn't noticeably changed, just shrunk. My Italian relatives who've been buying buttercooky for decades would have turned one eye up in suspicion at the owner. lol I'm going to try the other locations. I'm curious if it's only this location. They younger generation also makes very entitled reviews. It's definitely still a 4.5 or 5, sadly everything has changed.
