Stopped by Buttercooky Bakery in Floral Park, NY for a little after-work pick-me-up and coffee date after seeing their rainbow pignoli cookie all over social media. Of course, I had to try it for myself. Honestly, it was just okay. The cookie looked beautiful, but I felt like it was a bit dry and could've used more jam and pignoli nuts for better flavor and texture. We also ordered the strawberry cheesecake, and that was definitely the highlight... it was super creamy, rich, and filling - chef's kiss. To drink, we got their house iced coffee...one light and sweet with creamer and the other with almond milk. The flavor was decent, but both drinks had way more ice than actual coffee, which was a little disappointing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was fine overall, though I did notice several employees sipping on Starbucks drinks while we were dining in, which felt a little odd at a bakery/coffee spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, it was an okay experience. I'm glad I tried it, but next time I'll probably head next door to Bistro Café to check out their offerings instead.

My partner was in New York for 72 hours and I asked them to bring a cheesecake back to Texas. They asked the bakery to package the cheesecake right for travel. I just had to come put a 5 star review due to this cake traveled 11 hours!! The cake was still in one whole piece and perfect like if I walked into the shop and got it. My partner said the place was a mall of treats and so many great options to try. So thank you guys for such a great treat all way in TEXAS!! :)

Beautiful desserts. No prices listed anywhere lol. The drip coffee is $3-4, and the espresso is $3.5. The tres leches eclair is $6.5, and the bowl is $9.75. Ordered the bowl because the person assisting me couldn't tell me much about the consistency of the eclair. The tres leches bowl has fresh strawberries and blueberries on top. Peach could be canned, but I don't mind either way. A solid tres leches overall, but not remarkable. It's just pretty, with fresh fruit.

Vanilla cake- a bit too sweet for me, but really good otherwise, not too dense, but not as light & fluffy as I wish it was

Do try the Chocolate Tiramisu French Pastry (see photo below). It is made with white imitation rum and dark chocolate. It is the only dessert that I liked of the four that I and my Yelp Elite dining partner tried: the Pignoli Cookies, the Pistachio Croissant, and the Pistachio Sunflower French Pastry are the three others. I would return to this bakery, just to reorder the Chocolate Tiramisu French Pastry. I was floored by how good it was. The imitation rum powered the pastry, and the dark chocolate tasted high in quality. Kaylen was our server, and she helped us decide what to select by providing us her recommendations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Buttercooky is an informal bakery that is clean and has a spacious seating area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything is reasonably priced, and the servers are attentive. I highly recommend.

Buttercooky is phenomenal! We picked up my friends' birthday cake (rainbow cookie cannoli) and some black & white cookies, rainbow cookies, and I got a Dubai cannoli. It was so delicious. The shell was coated in chocolate. So good!

My obsession with this bakery started in July when I tried the most delightful fluffy yellow cake! I'm obsessed with baking and will only eat treats when they're the best. Took me until the fall to convince by boyfriend to take me! I work from home so we were there bright and early. I highly recommend early. Looks like some people had service issues when it's busy. I was here recently late afternoon and it was slammed but there's so many people working. I didn't wait too long to be helped. I love the biscotti here! Especially the one with white chocolate. Just tried the rainbow cookies and they were stellar! I've had the Opera cake and the pumpkin cheesecake and both were out of this world! I tried the Sfogliatella and it was exactly what I was looking for. There are so many treats to pick from here! I don't think one would ever get bored. I need to try the black and white cookie! And of course some more of those cake flavors. My sister and niece got rainbow cookies but also a plate of mixed Italian cookies for the holidays. They both loved it here! It made me happy that also had a great experience here. According to this girl sitting at a table, I need to try the peppermint hot chocolate! Next time! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is beautiful, clean and open![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I noticed they also have a cafe but I have yet to try it. Keep up the delicious work!

I usually come to Buttercooky Bakery for their delicious cakes and pastries they never disappoint. But this time, I have to shout out their barista because the lattes were amazing.I tried their famous tres leches latte and wow... it was so good and honestly something different from what I usually get. It had that rich sweet flavor without being too heavy which I loved.[[HIGHLIGHT]]What made it even better was that it surprisingly wasn't busy so I was in and out always a win![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]I can't wait to come back and try more of their specialty lattes

Always a good experience. Great menu. Great service. Excellent octopus and very fresh calamari - good cappuccino. And then you can always go next-door to bring home your dessert or you couldn't order it off the menu - Keylime pie is excellent.

Nice little bakery that sells a variety of goods. We tried mini cakes and though they were moist I felt like there was a lack of any discernible flavor from either of them. Like there wasn't enough extract or whatnot. It wasn't bad.... It just wasn't good either. I'm not sure if I would go back just cuz I felt like the flavor wasn't there.

Viral rainbow cookie and mango dessert.
    Natasha P.

Tried their viral rainbow cookie and was a bit disappointed. It was dry and the flavor was lacking. The mango fruit dessert also was disappointing because it lacks flavor.

Although I loveeeee Buttercooky Bakery, I must say I was very disappointed in this. I brought cake home from a christening with the intent that this large satisfying piece of cake would be cake. It in fact had. 1/4 of a cake and 3/4 buttercream frosting...... so disappointing. And the cake was soooo good.

    What is this?!?!?!
    Michelle P.

I am so disappointed. I ordered a black and white cookie and it was so old and crumbly and gross. So basic and yet such a mess. What bakery can't make a black and white cookie? The icing the cookie all old and aweful! This speaks volumes!

While on a corner on a pretty busy street, the location seemed slightly obscure. No parking - just 2 or 3 spots in front of the establishment. We came mid-day on a gloomy Sunday in February...so we didn't have an issue parking right in the front. We were greeted by the friendly associate. There were lots of great-looking gelato flavors which the associate also allowed us to sample first (very kind). She was very patient with us and really seemed to enjoy working there. We're BIG hazelnut enthusiasts, so we each had one scoop of hazelnut flavor and one of the Rocher (hazelnut) flavor. They also had an amazing fig and honey gelato flavors which was absolutely delicious. They offer 4 sizes - kids' size, and then the usual - small, medium and large. The small is 2 generous scoops - and that's what we went with. The overall experience didn't disappoint at all; we thoroughly enjoyed the treat, my hubby had an espresso coffee as well (very good) and we got a kids cup of vanilla for our pup. The prices were also decent and for this type of experience, I will gladly support a small business. I definitely recommend checking out this little gem. Will return once the weather get warmer!

When I walked in, I only got a quick "hi" and wasn't really acknowledged until after another customer was helped. To be fair, there was only one employee working and she seemed to be doing her best, so this felt more like a management issue than an employee problem. The biggest disappointment was being told they were out of the white/yogurt sauce after I already paid for the momos. That sauce is kind of essential to the dish, so it made the experience feel incomplete. Inventory and communication could definitely be improved. The deal was advertised as 16 it was closer to 18. The atmosphere also felt very empty and quiet. I honestly think this place would benefit from more community events, poetry nights, music, or something to bring more life and energy into the space. I still appreciate what they're trying to do and I do want to support small culturally diverse businesses. There's potential here, but right now the experience feels a bit subpar and unpolished.
