We, a group of 20, went to Joey Coquitlam for dinner last night and not one complaint. I had THE best burger of my life. The fries were thin and perfectly cooked. Their entrees come with a choice to get their signature "crispy mashed potatoes". I was curious so I got some for me and my friends to share. Crispy mashed potatoes are mash wrapped in an eggroll wrapper, fried, and topped with sour cream, bacon, and green onions. VERY GOOD! Next time I will be more adventurous than a burger now that I know the quality of the food here. The service was very good as well. The servers were quite lovely. read more

pretty good venue to watch the game been here a couple of times.. they have a lounge/bar area and a dining area.. they have one large screen.. their fault is that they need to close the blinds so the sun shine doesn't make it hard to see very cute staff that are pretty helpful few dishes are pretty good on the menu.. pesto shrimp flatbread.. chicken souvlaki in pita bread.. the lave cake.. a lot of the appies looked just OK, nothing special.. i'd say jump right into some of the entrees.. had an ahi tuna burger once which was pretty good.. pasta was so-so drinks are pretty standard. one of the few good places to go around the lougheed mall area thats good all around so defo worth checking out if you're around read more

My first time coming to this Joey's location and have to say I will be back. It is in a good location, really easy to find thanks to the big sign on Lougheed. Staff was very friendly and polite, and able to accommodate my diet and health concerns. We came in a large group and was surprised how quick our waitress was able to take our orders, get all our food out to the correct person and was speedy with getting all the bills paid. Food & service were equally great. It was Wednesday and still very busy. The wait for food was alright I mean it was very busy so it's understanding. I drink a lot of water when I eat and our server John made sure my water was always refilled not once did I have to ask for him to refill. Will def go back!! read more

Had never been to Joey's and my wife and I were impressed with the service and the quality of the food as well as the presentation.We will be back in the near future as we have had so many poor to will never return experiences with other establishments in the Tri-cities area. JOEY is by far the best chain restaurant out there right now. I felt particularly inclined to write a review for JOEY Coquitlam because of the top notch service I had yesterday. I don't expect much from chain restaurants; you give me what I order and I leave a happy customer. I frequent the JOEY Burnaby and before yesterday I had only been to the JOEY Coquitlam once. I ordered my usual: a bellini ($2.99 M-Th, WOW!) and the ahi tuna club. It's kind of interesting how they do the service - one person introduces herself (or himself) to you and asks for your drink order. Within 5 minutes later, another person will introduce herself to you and tell you that she is your server and that the drinks are coming. At first I thought they were confused with their table distribution but in fact this is just how they operate. You don't usually expect two servers within 5 minutes of each other. Someone takes your drink order right away and then your actual server will show up. Anyway I love their ahi tuna club. I've had it several times and everything in it is delicious and it is a nice piece of ahi tuna that they give you. Yesterday, I got my tuna club and started munching on my fries. When I looked at my burger, I saw a tiny spider crawling around on the plate. To give you an idea, I hate spiders. But this one was so small that I didn't even let out so little as a scream and instead just looked quizzically at my plate. My friend saw the spider and immediately flagged down our server. I was still looking at my plate wondering what I should do but the server immediately offered to remake the tuna club. While waiting for them to remake it, a cook, server AND the manager came by to the table apologizing to which I told them it was OK. It really was...though I probably should have been a bit more disgusted that a tiny spider was crawling around the food I was about to eat. I told them not to worry about it and that it was fine. When they gave me the second one, they checked on me immediately after to make sure everything was good. In the end, they comped my tuna club. I guess that is to be expected but I thought it was nice how they took care of the situation without hesitation and expedited the new burger. If that spider was a normal-sized spider, I probably would have freaked out way more and I guess I would have made it a bigger deal...but it was a tiny, harmless one and I have no idea where it came from, whether it was on the plate to begin with or on the table and climbed up onto my plate. I come back for the bellini & ahi tuna club alone. I love bellinis and $2.99 is the best price you'll get around here for a tasty iced alcoholic drink. One of the more consistent restaurants that takes the effort and time to be creative with their menu and presentation. I especially enjoy their baja fish tacos but pretty much everything on their menu is solid. Joey's is a well managed restaurant chain. read more

Always enjoy this place. Had the 500 salad w. Wild salmon for lunch on Sunday, my husband had the Caesar with wild salmon. Both were very good. Dressing was excellent, esp. On the 500 - I got it on the side. The 500 itself is a small sized salad that's full of grains and therefore very chewy.Very filling and healthy. No lettuce though. read more

If it wasn't for the friendly staff, and usually great service, this would be 3 stars for me. Food is decent but a bit pricy for what you get. Difficult to find, the signage is in black and white and is called Joeys not Joey Tomatoes as one would first think! It is a building that is brick and set back from the road, entrance to the right! When u arrive through the door there is a great atmosphere for a Tuesday evening! Great menu and great service! Food is very well presented and tastes fresh!! This was our first visit to Joeys and it won't be our last. A group of 11 and everyone was very pleased with their appys and meals. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We went for a family dinner and had a great experience here. All meals were top notch and the mashed potatoes with the wonton are the best! I found the music to be extremely loud to the point you had to really talk loud to hear what the other person across from you was saying. Really enjoy this location (as well as the branch on Burrard ... also on Broadway) - excellent menu & great drinks esp. for children: my grandson had Raspberry Sparkler which he loves & they gave him a refill too. I had lettuce w/chicken wraps - very good. My husband & daughter-in law had the pesto shrimp flatbread - "great"!! We have been back many times at Lougheed Hwy. Location & servers are very nice. A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of having some close friends plan a night out for me after a serious car accident I have been recovering from. They chose to take me to Joey's Coquitlam and I am so glad they did!! Everything was perfect!!! Aarman & Riley were our servers and were incredible!! We've been to Joey's probably more times than I'd like to admit and have never left there disappointed. Amazing fish tacos, bellinis, almost always great service and who knew that they did take-out??!!!?? Greatest idea.....EVER! We've tried going to other Joey's and ordering our favourites, but the never taste as good as the food we get in Coquitlam and we always end up kicking ourselves for not taking the extra drive to get there. It's clever that when it's busy their hostesses circulate the hungry masses in line with an appy like flatbread - nice touch. Only thing I don't "love" about going here (on the weekends usually) is when they have several huge parties for birthdays or other celebrations and it leaves almost no tables open for people off the street. Makes the wait ALMOST not worth it.... but otherwise, we love Joey's and will be sure to come back..... read more

this was our second visit here, and, unlike the first I was not impressed. First I asked for a glass of water, which appeared to be warm tap water with NO ice! Our server was pleasant and friendly, going out of his way to accomodate one of party who eats a gluten-free diet. My food, when it came (about a 10 minute wait) was OK. but very, very salty (and the cost was outrageous!) an extra $10.00 for 4 small mushrooms in a brown liquid that was named 'jus' that was like a 'salt-lick'!!! no one actually finished their meal. all in all I was quite disappointed. We were there for a birthday. They knew, but no-one wished my daughter 'Happy Birthday' or acknowledged it in any way. Not the most pleasant experience...I have had better at MacDonalds. read more

My wife and I celebrated our 17th anniversary here and it was the best dining out experience we've had in years! Our calamari starter was just as fresh and nicely cooked as it should have been. I had sensational BBQ ribs. She had the blue cheese sirloin and the unique potatoes, almost like a souffle, were the highlight of her meal. Atmosphere and service are always top quality here. Think of this place as a very classy Hooters. I have been to this restaurant two times, (both times were recommended by the client that I was taking out). All of the waitresses were wearing black dresses that were sexy yet very classy. The food is very good yet the price is cheaper than you would expect. My family and I came for a dinner and as we were walking to our table my mother and aunt had slipped on the floor. Luckily my aunt caught herself but my mother had fallen. There was NO SIGN stating that the floor was slippery. Secondly no staff members bothered to help her. She has pain in her hips and ribs and has a swollen ankle. I also wanted to mention how poor the service was. Our food was running late. I told the waiter about my allergy (all nuts and seeds) and my food (sushi cone) was still drenched in sesame seeds. We also ordered desserts and a hot beverage but we received our hot beverages first and had to kept asking the waiter to bring our desserts (apple pies). It shouldn't take long to bring a couple pieces of apple pies to our table. My mother had ordered soup and when the soup came out she was given a tea spoon. She kept asking for a proper spoon for her soup but because the waitress never came back she continued to have the soup with the tea spoon because she didn't want the soup to get could. As the soup was finished the waitress brought the spoon. She impolitely took our orders and threw down our beverages and utensils. She barely checked on our table and had an improper tone with us as she was speaking to us. And we were forced to tip the waitress through gratuity. Despite what happened to my mother the service was just terrible. I'm deeply sadden by how poorly they treated my mother after she fell. No help no first aid... not to mention a slippery floor with NO CAUTION SIGN?! Seriously this is a joke. read more

Decent food. Terrible service. Seated at 6:30 on a Monday. First drinks offered at 7. Dinner order finally taken at 715. Dinner arrived at 8 after water and drinks were empty for 20minutes. We brought our out of town guests to this venue and were beyond embarrassed. Server was confused. Multiple servers came by to bring us lemon slices without water. Just a bizarre service experience. the worse experience at a restaurant in my life. attended a friends birthday here and called ahead to make sure they had dairy and gluten free options due to dietary restrictions. they assured me they would be able to accommodate. at the restaurant i was given one option of a modified salad, which i was fine with. the salad came the first time with raisins which were not in the listed ingredients on the menu. after waiting, the second salad came with wheat berries which are obviously NOT gluten free friendly. i noticed this after i had taken a bite. frustrated, i had to send the salad back yet again and ended up not eating anything. not only was this restaurant incapable of getting a basic order right, but they were irresponsible with an order that i specifically told them needed to be allergy free. they made me feel extremely upset and embarrassed about having a disease that prevents me from eating certain foods which i was told they could accommodate. i wasn't even given an apology, let alone a refill on the water which was the only thing i ended up being able to consume for dinner. i will NEVER recommend this joeys or any others to anyone and will stay clear from them in the future. read more
