It was a big 19-ounce container with three Asian meatballs, rice, broccoli florets, and julienned carrots, squash, zucchini and scallions. A half portion was plentiful, the meatballs were excellent, and the sweet chili sauce added a zippy finishing touch. If the eggplant lasagna is half as good as the meatball dish, I'd be very happy. She sources from local farmers, so if you're in CT she provides a much more sustainable service than out-of-state food meal delivery services. Nancy continuously collects feedback about the meals and you can actually see the meals change slightly in response to that feedback--it's always getting a little better! Nancy designed the service to help working families--twice now I haven't gotten my order in on time, and she's accommodated me to the best of her ability so that I could still get a delivery. While I DON'T recommend forgetting to place your order on time (that makes her life a little harder), I've been so appreciative of her flexibility during these crazy and stressful times.

If it had a bit more chicken and/or bacon I would have enjoyed it a lot more than I did but overall it was good, but could be much better. The Buffalo Chicken pizza was not what I am used to. I'm spoiled by the version that Hometown Pizza does where the chicken chunks are breaded and sauced and the finished pie is topped with bleu cheese dressing. This was a pizza with shredded chicken and hot sauce so, technically buffalo chicken but like the other slices, lacking on the toppings so hard to say it was anything other than just "OK". The Big Mac slice was really the biggest disappointment. First off, the Big Mac is a BURGER and there was hardly any burger on the pizza at all. Though there were some sesame seeds present there were none on the crust. The primary toppings here seem to be the 'sauce' and lettuce which tasted more like Russian dressing than "Big Mac" sauce. It's a nice enough place, cozy inside and the staff is friendly for the most part, I wouldn't mind sitting down for a nice lunch but, as many others have mentioned there are a LOT of good pizza places within a short distance so I'm not sure I'll be coming back anytime soon. There are seats inside, but it seems like this is more of a take out kind of vibe so I ordered everything to go. The pizza: well that was disappointing. The ratio is all wrong - needs way more meat on it. Not a fan. The salad: not quite what I was expecting. It was big but not enjoyable. Ingredients didn't seem very fresh. With so many other great places to grab pizza from in Glastonbury (Angelo's, Giovanni's, etc) I would recommend going somewhere else if you're looking for a good pie!

Nardi's bakery was a must go to 8n East Hartford when it was in Connecticut Boylevard. They moved after a lengthy time there to a great location in South Windsor. It was always busy. But in addition to their wholesale business, they have a retail store at their South Windsor bakery where retail customers can buy the same wonderful products. Nardi Bakery started out in Hartford in the early 1900's, moving to Connecticut Blvd in East Hartford around 1980 and to their current location off Rt. 5 in South Windsor around 2000. They are famous for the Front Street sheet pizza, which is what I'm reviewing today. The pizza comes packed up in a tidy bundle, wrapped in deli paper and sits comfortably in a card board soda flat box. A full sheet pizza is 24 pieces and runs $20. The retail store only takes cash, so plan ahead! The pizza is a thicker, bready pizza with a zesty, acidic yet slightly sweet tomato sauce. There is not a lot of cheese on the pizza, certainly not a solid layer of mozz like most pizzas, think more like a light sprinkling of parmigiano or romano. I remember family gatherings in East Hartford where my grandfather and later my uncle would arrive bearing several sheet pizzas, and it had been years since I had the taste of Nardi's pizza until I recently rediscovered them at their South Windsor location. The taste is pure nostalgia for me. Many people like Nardi's cold out of the fridge, some like it warmed up (10 minutes at 350F works for me), I like it both ways. While you do get 24 good sized pieces in a sheet pizza, I recommend ordering at least two... not only does it keep well in the fridge, but you're going to want to share so others can taste how great it is!

It's a very interesting set up as the store must be bigger than the front shows to be. Most of the time, raviolis are in the freezer. There is a rare occasion that some will be fresh. I'm not really sure how this guy survives selling these raviolis. Today I picked up the butternut squash, meat, and mushroom. I've had them before and they are good. It's nice to still have them locally made although I feel like they would sell a whole lot more of them if they had another location closer to one of the Italian neighborhoods in Hartford or New Haven.
