Steven (the store's GM at this location) is an absolute buffoon. I've given my business here for…read moremany years--long before he was GM. He used to be at the 102nd & Silver Spring location. No idea why he relocated, but since he moved, I've had nothing but problems. When I shop AutoZone, I buy parts and accessories in advance. Any DIY'er knows you grab what you might need and return what you don't. Common sense, right? Apparently not to Steven. Multiple times, I've tried to return perfectly fine items here--bought within DAYS or even HOURS--only to be hassled. Today I came in with the original bag, receipt, and unopened tools. Steven examined them like a detective, holding parts inches from his face looking for the slightest flaw. He does this Every. Single. Time. For context: I was returning a chrome socket and ratchet. Anyone who works on cars knows chrome sockets almost always have blemishes straight off the shelf due to shipping. Chrome scratches easily--it's unavoidable. Yet Steven claimed my tools were "used," even though they never left the bag from purchase less than 24 hours earlier. It's one thing if a tool looks dragged down a road, it's another to purposefully inconvenience a loyal customer over a $20 return. Newsflash Steven: saving AutoZone mere Pennie's to their billion dollar company isn't getting you that DM promotion. This isn't a one-off. I've learned to skip the argument and just drive to another AutoZone. There, I return the exact same unopened merchandise with zero hassle. Moreover, I've learned that If Steven isn't working, the other employees at this location process returns with no issue. So clearly this is about one man on a power trip. To demonstrate this room temperature IQ specimens laughable incompetence, let's perform an experiment. I took an additional two sockets off the shelf and placed them amongst the one I tried to return in the attached photos. Please, Steven, tell me which was the one I tried to return and which are the "new" ones I pulled off the shelf for comparison. If you have a functioning frontal cortex, you'll notice they're entirely indistinguishable. Congrats, Steven. In trying to block a $20 return, you lost a customer who's spent thousands here over the years and would have continued to do so. My experience since you arrived has been the equivalent of being raked over hot coals.

You who have thought they pull up at an auto shop, the way Steven was helping them. I came back the next day and brought some whips for my car. This time, another co-worker helped me. His name was Cyrus, and he was of every help. He put them on, and whips something on my window to make the water bounce off when it rains. I tell you, this is a great team. I used to go to O'Reilly Auto Store, but no more. I am a new customer of AutoZone. Steven needs to be the top trainer for all of your new employees.

I usually try to buy cars from private sellers as I find all the games dealers play to be somewhat tiresome and annoying, e.g., service fees, documentation fees, nitrogen in the tires fees, rust proofing fees, etching the vin number in the windshield fees, "estimated" title and license fees that are $75 high, etc.... but I thought that since the service department guys are straight shooters maybe the sales guys would be too-- oops, big mistake. I was interested in two trucks they had in stock, and got prices, in writing, for each truck from the sales rep. I test drove both of the trucks and decided to buy one of them. I then got a call saying they had made a "mistake" and the price was now $2000 higher. Very sleazy in my opinion. Needless to say I am not buying from them after this unethical behavior.

I've been visiting this store since long before the big box, chain, auto parts stores showed up in…read moreMenomonee Falls and Germantown. You have to want to come here, it's well hidden a block east of Main Street and a block south of Appleton Avenue. It's sort-of behind Harvey Moy's Chinese restaurant. Grant is only a block long street that you can access from Grand Avenue (intersects with Main Street.) It's a huge store with a large inventory and a machine shop (if you're into DIY auto repairs.) Frankly, I don't do much shade tree work on my cars anymore because when I open the hood on a modern car, there isn't much under there I recognize anymore. I do happen to own a couple of more vintage autos that I can play with under the hood. I have a lawn tractor with a snow blower that isn't easy to see at night, and I wanted to install a yellow strobe to be seen at night. Most strobes you buy these days have plugs designed for power outlets. (I'm old enough that I still call those the cigarette lighter.) Darrin, the counter guy, went back into the antique, paper catalogs at his station and found exactly what I needed. He disappeared into the warehouse and returned with just what I needed. (Which, I might add, was attached surprisingly quickly and easily and, it works!) As you can see, there is also a large showroom with tools, chemicals, accessories and the like. If you need it, they probably have it. If they don't, they'll get it for you.

Prompt service response to my online ordering of a Brake and rotor kit…read more I went online the day of and spent a while looking at all the local auto stores to see if they had the brake and rotor kit for my MAZDA 3 2005. Turns out only Napa had the kit at the cheapest price. I figured given my age of my car, I wasn't going to sink a heavy amount of money on the brake and rotor kit. So ordered it at near 5 p.m. after work and marked it to be shipped to this store. 30 mins later, got a call from the clerk at that time, and she said it would be there the next day. Next day, went in, wasn't too hard to find. Though it was in a well concealed lot. Clerk was courteous and after a bit of digging around, found the packages. I also picked up some other stuff from the store, Permatex anti sieze and Sil Glyde as well. overall easy experience ordering online at napa and having it delivered. will do again.

I'd like to share my experience with not only this specific dealer but also VW Corporate…read more I own a 2014 Passat TDI and have 4 open recalls. I originally took the vehicle to VW Hall in Waukesha, WI where they said they couldn't perform any recalls without forking up a $180 diagnostic fee because the check engine light was on. I returned the calls I had gotten from the number that was urging me to schedule the recalls. They informed me Ewald in Menominee Falls would perform without the charge. So I drive 40 minutes to the VW dealer in Menominee Falls and the next morning a mechanic left a voicemail stating I need to pay the $180 but the fee may go down or be removed in total. I called and spoke with a woman at the front desk who told me that I HAVE to pay the $180 and mentioned nothing about the fee being adjustable. The dealership then claims their hands are tied and it's a "VW Corporate warranty/ recall issue". Furthermore, I asked for written documentation to why they wouldn't work on the vehicle, which they never answered me back. I decided to call corporate as recall work should be performed at no cost. To start, corporate is no better than the dealers. Corporate informed me that it's not up to them, it's up to the dealer and the warranty team; opposite of what the dealer told me. So I asked the case manager (from corporate) regarding the $180 diagnostic fee and she stated I may get the money back, then she said I wouldn't get the money back. Then she placed me on hold for a minute, got back to me and said "I don't know." Nearly half the questions I asked corporate they simply replied "I don't know." Mind you my vehicle has been at this dealership from a Tuesday morning until Saturday morning. In frustration, I called the dealer back and left a voicemail on Thursday evening stating to just work on the car as they are basically forcing me to pay $180 for their poorly engineered vehicle. However, no one called back in regard to the voicemail, so I called Friday evening and the mechanic said "your car is all done and ready to be picked up." I arrive to the dealer on Saturday morning. Walked in and the woman at the desk stated "we need you to sign these two documents and there is no charge." I assumed they fixed the issue. Well, lo and behold, the vehicle dash was lit up like a Christmas tree. Prior to bringing in the vehicle, the check engine / tire pressure lights were on. Now, 4 dash lights appear and it also states I have a faulty airbag and VW claims they didn't even touch the car. I will never recommend anyone to purchase a VW, as they treat their customers like garbage. If anyone has had any similar experiences with this VW dealership, or VW regarding recalls please contact me on Facebook/messenger .

When I dropped the car off, I believed I was told it would be $99.95, which I thought was a little high. When I got the car back, I was charged $999.95 plus tax. I was incredulous. I couldn't believe it. I compared the receipts with the work done on my other car earlier in the month (at another dealership) and they are nearly identical, but the other car cost me $75. I will never be back. Don't come here. They'll rob you blind.
