    Warm lobster roll with salad

The food is excellent but the roll is pricy. I would opt for the poutine as that really fills you up. Service was quick but more diner style. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are booths surround a bar in U shape where you can see staff shucking oysters as orders come in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would recommend it.

John & Sonos Oyster House I think is your quintessential seafood bar joint with elevated food. We ordered all the oyster varieties they had. They were just okay - served room temperature. The seared yellow fin BLT was good. I also thought the shrimp cocktail was okay. Our server was very friendly but I think he was the only server that night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]John & Sons is definitely a smaller restaurant, with tables centered around a main bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A small but fun place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Upon entering we were greeted by a gentleman, funny and helpful throughout the night with great suggestions and stories. Our waitress was fabulous, helpful recommendations and knowledge. We ordered a myriad of appetizers and raw oysters - all were delicious. I ordered local raw oysters and they did not disappoint nor did the descriptions provided by our server on which order to eat them and how they may taste - they were spot on. The KFC Lettuce wraps were probably my favorite - so many flavors wrapped up in each bite - the crunchy calamari, gochuchang, and veggies! We opted to order the grilled octopus instead of dessert and it was beautifully cooked, soft and tender and flavorful. I can't wait to come back!

Love everytime we come here for dinner. The hospitality is so friendly: it's a super chill place. We always call ahead to see how busy it is. Some nights it can be packed. In we really love the whole "back alley" location. I always grab a ceasar and key lime pie when we're here. Everything on the menu is amazing of course. Lately I've been enjoying the curry smelts and the moules frites most. It just hits the spot when you're craving seafood and comfort. I personally don't like chowders but everyone I've come with has been in love with their clam chowder. Highly recommend for chowder folks. Parking can be a bit tricky but the building right next door has underground parking available. It's an Impark lot with security.

John & Sons has been around for a while. It's a more intimate space but the seating is comfortable. As the name implies, they have a good selection of oysters and you should definitely get some when you come here. Of the mains, I would say the lobster roll was the best. As you can see it's pretty loaded. The fries were enjoyable too, as was the rather large and fresh portion of mussels. I would recommend against ordering the risotto. Much too peppery and the texture was not quite on point.

very yummy food! everything was got was a hit (clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, mussels, and oysters). let them pick the oyster for you, ours came so fresh and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]decor is very vibey as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] good service.

Finally got to go. We've been to Toronto a couple of times and it just didn't work out until now. Selection of oysters is great and when you cozy up to the bar you not only get to watch the master shucker do their thing but you also get to interact. Lobster poutine is fantastic as well. Staff (all of them) are a well oiled machine of brined perfection.

Hidden gem! I can't believe that I've only discovered this place recently. It's a small place but very warm and welcoming. Came here twice for lunch and both times the place was completely full. Be sure to make reservations. I wasn't blown away on my first visit but I had a totally different experience on my recent visit. I got the Cioppino dish (fish stew) which was delicious. This dish alone can get me coming back over and over. Unfortunately it wasn't on the regular menu as it was an item on the lunch special. The server says that they might add this dish as a regular item during the winter. I'll definitely be calling soon to find out when this dish gets added on the menu. If not, I think that I'll just have to get them to call me weekly on the days that they have dish...that's how much I love this dish. My friends had complimented that they liked their dishes too like the tuna, grilled octopus, and lobster roll. I just can't stop thinking about the fish stew...I'm craving it right now...yum! I'll be back for sure.

Wish I had a good photo but it didn't last long enough to take one! PROBABLY THE BEST CLAM CHOWDER IVE EVER HAD. And it's gluten free!? It didn't taste any bit different and would've never known otherwise. Delish!

The restaurant was surrounded in tanks full of lobster, crab, seafood and then a ton of dry aged steaks. Definitely something you don't see in California. Clean and spacious. Service was what you would expect from a Chinese seafood restaurant. Overall the meal was good, for me and a few others at the table the star of the show was actually the fish. The lobster while impressive when they brought it out was not as flavorful as one would have expected. And same with the king crab legs - my favorite have been the ones I've had in SF. Was interesting to come and experience it but I wouldn't come back. I prefer quality food over an IG-moment.

The establishment is famous for its iconic, towering mountains of deep-fried Hong Kong-style lobster and giant Alaskan king crabs.Without a doubt, the food is exceptional. The seafood is extraordinarily fresh--pulled straight from massive surrounding glass tanks--and prepared to absolute perfection with their signature Maggi sauce and garlic toppings. However, the major downside here is the notoriously slow and chaotic service. Due to the massive crowds, servers can be hard to flag down, orders take a long time to arrive, and the staff often feels rushed or inattentive. Despite the frustrating wait times and subpar service, the spectacular flavors and theatrical presentation make it a worthwhile destination for patient seafood lovers.Watch the massive lobster towers being prepared and served fresh at this iconic spot

The modern, chic decor sets a wonderful ambiance, and the service was immediate and welcoming. The food was spectacular from start to finish. We started with fresh, warm bread, followed by a flavorful seafood gumbo loaded with meat, and a generous portion of two lightly breaded crab cakes. For our mains, the 10oz ribeye and 8oz tenderloin were seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection--compliments to the chef! They came with a lovely side of baby potatoes and vegetables. We capped off a perfect meal with a warm pecan tart and ice cream. I highly recommend coming here. We noticed they have a pizza oven and plan to add pizza to the menu soon; we already can't wait for our next visit to try it out! Ps parking wise, the restaurant is just off a residential neighborhood and parking is free. No need to pay for any parking, just remember to read signs.

There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037

Now I can go to heaven, in peace. Place is small, and waiting for a table is de rigor. We placed our name in the Google waitlist, then waited another hour to be seated on Friday night. Based on reviews, got the Singapore chili crabs with the king oyster mushrooms (under the crab it soaked up all the goodness), spicy clams garlic veggies and the beef in black pepper/garlic. All were well done, the veggies had great wokhai, met with appreciation at the table. Clams and crabs were spicy for some and ok for others (our table was Cantonese and Korean). Crab was delicious, and the sauce called for rice to be mixed in after the crab was done. It filled us, but not too much. Next time we might try other sauces, but the Singapore chili sauce was killer. Totally worth the money and the hassle. In a mall full of other restaurants this place was the busiest. In my opinion, the salted egg yolk was a bit too creamy and felt better suited for something like a pasta. The curry was alright, but my favourite was the Singaporean chilli crab. It was a whole infusion of flavour and had a little kick to it as well! My only complaint is it is a bit on the pricey side (was about $70 per person), but that's expected with lobster and crab.
