Nice looking and cozy. Located in ski resort. Food ok. Had chicken parm over angel hair. Chicken tasty, sauce watery with lots of garlic. It was a special but $19 and only one piece of chicken... not a special. Service good... server Denise was nice. Ok food and expensive. Note... on weekends lots of families with kids running around. Really can't have conversation, the kids are noisy and its allowed by parents and staff. So do not expect a quiet meal. Times have changed. High price fancy prices in a burger king. read more

They know they're the only game in town, don't they. I mean, if you're staying at at the Country Inn at Jiminy Peak, this is the most convenient place to have a meal. But it's far from being any good. At least the service matched the quality of the food. The food was uninspiring to say the least. Everything seemed like they were prepared with the bare minimum of attention or preparation - the wings, the burgers, all of it. This fare was only marginally better than what one might find in a bus station in the middle of nowhere. The beers were... OK. I mean, on the one hand, it's beer. On other hand, not the least memorable. Which brings me to the service. Slow and surly are not the most prized qualities of table service these days, but here we had loads of both. Seriously?! Listen, I get it, when one settles in at the Country Inn at Jiminy Peak, and wants a warm meal, this is convenient. But you're way better off hopping back in your car and driving 10-15 minutes elsewhere for grub that's far more palatable than this place. Do it, save yourself. read more

I'm not sure why there are so many low ratings for this restaurant but I've been here several times and have always had a delicious meal. Prices are decent too for the quality. .It's definitely a restaurant that I'd suggest to anyone staying at the resort. It's convenient, great views of the ski slope and great food! read more

We have been going to Jiminy Peak annually for years. We have been going to John Harvard's just as long. We attempted to make reservations for dinner Thursday, 2/27 for 7 adults. The hostess, because of a party that was arriving shortly, and another large party coming at 7PM did not want to give us a reservation. After I pushed, she offered us a very late reservation. In fact, she told us we should try Christianson's tavern. We had already eaten at Christianson's the day before, plus because of very cold temperatures, and the fact we were staying in the same building as John Harvard's, we walked over at 7PM, without a reservation. When we got there, we saw several empty tables, and the hostess said she would put our name in and a table should be ready in 20 minutes. We sat at the bar. After 10 minutes, we decided to eat at the bar. The food was good- no complaints. My complaints are about the lack of management (never saw one), the lack of waitstaff in the height of ski season on a Thursday night (which is a busy night because Jiminy Peak offers a free night's stay on Thursday nights if you are arriving for the weekend), and the inexperienced, young hostess that was left in charge to turn away business. PS: I only saw her seat 2 tables in the 1.5 hours we were there. How much business did she turn away? read more

While this pub/brewery/restaurant does have a pleasant atmosphere, and the food does have potential, our experience was less than expected. Every aspect of service was extremely slow. The grilled sandwich and onion rings showed signs of having been hot at some time, but were not hot when brought to the table. A chopped salad listed as an entre item was a side at best, but priced like an entre. In fact, even if the service had been timely and the food served hot/cold as should be, it was all still way over-priced. read more

Had an early dinner reservation on a Wednesday night. Arrived right on time, hostess walked us to our table and we sat down. It was pretty empty for a "holiday week", maybe 20 people in the whole place. Nobody approached the table for 25 minutes, we walked out and left. The same waitress walked by our table about 10 times and never even looked at us. I've never walked out of a restaurant before. On our way out, the waitress saw us leaving and quickly grabbed water to serve to our table then argued with us that it hadn't been 25 minutes. Even if it had been 20, that's still unacceptable. What a disappointment, went the night before we left the Berkshires and they had very few choices on the menu, the burgers we ended up with were good though. My wife tried the seven beer sampler and two of them were completely flat and very bitter (could not even drink them). if you are looking for good food and service go to Powder Hounds at the entrance of Jiminy Peak you will not be disappointed with the food or the service. The food is good, the entertainment is great and the servers are all very nice but they are severely understaffed for a holiday weekend.

Food was just ok. Service was terrible. We were ignored for most of the evening while the wait staff tried to manage a party.

Get the pretzel sticks for an app and make sure to save room for the apple crisp! One of the best I ever had.

Bartender is cool... but it says brewery... they make no beers here and they put their own name on beers they get which I'm pretty sure is illegal aka shocktop wassachest and they put their own names on it like blueberry bliss.. good place but wish they would just put the real names of the beers on the menu so consumers would really know what they were getting. read more

That's sad that the management would rather have an employee put their life in danger driving in a snow storm or risk losing their job. If I worked here I'd tell them to take their job and shove it..plenty of better places to work that care for your well being. read more

Cozy, typical ski resort rustic spot , serving great hamburgers .Try the lobster bisque which was exceptional.Fish and chips were middle of the road but certainly acceptable .Essentially the only game in town if you don't want to drive into Pittsfield or Williamstown . I'd only been to the Harvard Square location before, we were in the Berkshires for a few days with my parents and decided to head here for dinner. As always, the food (I tried the Ravioli and the Buffalo Mac and Cheese) and beer (Blueberry Ale this time around) were great. The main problems were that they were out of a few types of beer (which seems to always happen) and it seemed as though only half the restaurant was open. We had to wait for a table, even though there were many empty tables. I'm not sure if they open more tables during ski season or not. read more

We had a great dinner, we were a little tired and got our meals to go and were blown away with how good the steak and meatloaf were, cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. We were very disappointed in just about everything here, we came early to beat the crowd (none really) our service was poor to say the least, we had 3 other employees come up and ask how things were but it was like talking to the wall, the food was no where near what we expected and it was either cold, tasteless or not what we even thought the could cook. Stay away from Shepard's Pie, the Sirloin Chili, or maybe all of their so called specialty's. Staying at Jiminy and was tired of driving so we ate down the hall from our suite. Service was ok, just ok. There were a few other couples but it took them a while to figure where to seat us. We had to ask for water, twice. We were brought the drinks we ordered then didn't see our waitress for too long. I don't like to be rushed but this wasn't good service tonight. The beers are their own unless you want Bud or Amstel in bottles. They had 7 of their beers and I started with their "flagship" brew, the blonde. It tasted like they added a generous shot of vinegar. After sitting with this skunky beer I couldn't drink in front of me for about 10 minutes we flagged down the waitress and told her the problem. She apologized and asked if I wanted to try another. I ordered their dark beer and she wisely brought me a shot glass of that beer. Not as skunky as the first but the same vinegary finish. I ended up drinking water. I know bitter beers and this was not the issue. I have had a lot of beers on this trip, most local from VT, ME, NH, MA. I have to say this was the worst of the trip and the worst I've had in decades of drinking beer. I brewed beer myself that is superior. The food was average and overpriced by about 10-15%. I wish I had just driven to another place for an average beer, average meal, average price. read more

John Harvard's is AWFUL!! Poor quality, poor service, harried staff, and the place is dirty! We went with 12 people for New Year's Eve dinner and were very disappointed. To start, we had a 9 pm reservation - we were on time - we were seated at 9:45! And without barely an apology - and frankly with some annoyance when at 9:30 I asked how much longer it would be! Also, we were excited to learn there would be live music starting at 8, which we expected to catch when we arrived at 9. However at 9 there was no sign of any musician! We were told they had come and gone, which we presume means they played 2 songs! Seemed really odd! The service that followed our being seated was slow, not the fault of our incredibly hard working waitress but because they were absurdly understaffed. And when the food came out I was shocked by the poor quality. We ordered wings and were served fried chicken tenders. When we reminded our waitress that we had ordered wings she responded by telling us that the chicken tenders ARE the wings because they don't have wings - despite the menu saying WINGS! The entrees came out in stages, which of course is always uncomfortable as half the table has food while the other half is urging that we eat and not have cold food. And, last, the entrees were disappointing. We mostly ordered burgers, frankly because we quickly gleaned this was not a restaurant for ordering something complicated. But at almost $20 for a burger, we expected a great burger but got mediocre burgers. For us, this was one and done. We won't return. What a disappointment given the prime location! read more

We were in Hancock for a ski vacation the other week. At JH on a Saturday night. True, it was crowded, and the servers at the bar seemed both overwhelmed, but were also negligent and apathetic. It took 45 minutes to get salads and soup. The food was mediocre at best and overpriced, even for a "resort" setting. The beer was unexceptional. No checking back on the food or if we wanted anything else. Rest assured we did not. People in our party have worked in the food service industry and found the service inexcusable. What a pleasant surprise! We were in the Berkshires for a night and decided to stay at Jiminy Peak. We saw John Harvards on the property and decided to "settle" for a convenient chain store meal. Our server, Hillary, was so friendly and attentive from the start. I ordered the pork chop and my husband ordered the pork ribs. We ordered a Martinique sling cocktail - and it was truly one of he best cocktails we have ever had. So well composed and mixed. We shared a freshly prepared salad with scrumptious dressing -- tasty shades of things to come! My pork chop arrived, served with Swiss chard, mashed potatoes and apple compote. I have to say - again - the Swiss chard was the best I've ever had. The right amount of garlic and butter - no bitterness, so fresh. The potatoes were whipped and creamy - I wish I could make them like that. My pork chop was moist and flavorful and HUGE. My husband's St. Louis ribs were meaty and tender - a big flavor. The sweet potatoes fries were well above average. The Cole slaw was ok but nothing to write home about. All in all, this was the best $62 meal we have ever had. Can't wait for the snow and out next meal at John Harvards! read more
