I had been to my old dentist twice already because of pain on one side of my mouth. He took x-rays and examined me both times, but could never find anything. So I mentioned the pain to Dr. Wert. It took him five minutes to see what was wrong. He gently tapped on a couple of teeth--no pain--and then when he tapped on the third one it was clear he'd found the source of the pain. I had a crown on that tooth, and Dr. Wirt told me there was infection under the crown. He would have to remove it and clear out the infection. I was so relieved to know what was causing the pain, and that it could be fixed. I'm so glad he opened an office in Hellertown. Oh, and the office staff was very pleasant and helpful too.

This place was recommended to me by a family member who also said the front desk person was rude but everyone else was pleasant in the facility. Not a place that I want to spend my money AT ALL. Their loss. They need to get rid of the person who answers the phones and greets people.

I've had deep cleanings before whenever…read moreI've had to change dentists due to moving, etc. My recent dentist had me on a regimen that was working very well where I had a teeth cleaning every three months and didn't require a deep cleaning. However, when I moved Summit Smiles wanted me to get a deep cleaning despite my numbers suggesting my teeth / gums were in good shape due to my regimen. In any event, I agreed to just get in with a dentist. They told me my x-rays may not be covered by my insurance. I agreed to that too. I get a bill from them for $71.00 for a comprehensive oral examination plus I now need to spend over $200 for deep cleanings. When I call them, the girl immediately had attitude and had to ask me my name twice and over talked me. She actually tried to project that I was the one overtalking her (lol). I could not get a word in edgewise and she just kept telling me I have to call the insurance company. They aren't the ones billing me. I hung up on her because she was just extra rude and I was not being heard. I called the insurance company to find out THEY FAILED TO LET THEM KNOW I WAS A NEW PATIENT so that is why I was being billed for the comprehensive oral examination. So they made the mistake. Needless to say, I just wanted a teeth cleaning. I didn't need a deep cleaning despite them forcing it on me. I live two hours from my previous dentist and will return to them until I find an honest dentist and one who doesn't have rude receptionists with attitude. They lost a patient and it is sad the people who answer their phones is the cause. It appears from other reviews I am not the first one this has happened to.

The staff was very friendly & immaculate office. Most dental offices in PA are very old and run down looking not here!! New & updated equipment. Also the sitting area is well kept !They took care of me on the spot and I wasn't even one of there patients! (Same day, on top of booked appointments & they got me in and out). I went back became a patient for a cleaning and 3 fillings, but I had to leave because they were an out of network office under my insurance. After I left I begin my search for a dentist b.c my primary office is in NY and I hated driving back and fourth! I wish I would of been able to stay but when u go to an out of network office they charge you more .I have to say I have never found anyone like them since I left and I'm still in the search for a dentist. The front desk was so kind and sweet. Waiting room relaxing and you can't hear the drilling that makes me break out into a sweat and want to run. The Assistant and Dr Kandl listened to me.....every word and fear. They spent time with me and did not do anything until I was ready. Their demeanor and patience has made me a patient of theirs for life. I don't even get anxious anymore for teeth cleaning. THANK YOU! You are a true example of how patient care is supposed to be, especially someone with a horrible Phobia that needs care.

I had been a loyal patient of my previous dentist for over 30 years and never once had an issue…read morewith billing or unexpected charges. When he retired, I was referred to the new dentist who took over the practice. I had no existing relationship or loyalty to this new provider, and I was extremely clear from the start: I am out-of-network with United Concordia, I have never paid out-of-pocket for dental care, and I was not willing to start now. I told them directly that if they didn't take my insurance, I would go elsewhere. I asked multiple times before the appointment if I would be charged, and I was repeatedly assured that I would not. I was told they do this all the time, that a form would be submitted to my insurance provider, and that everything would be handled -- no worries. Now, I've been billed $350. When I followed up, they admitted they were unfamiliar with the various United Concordia plans and were unprepared for the volume of patients after taking over the practice. In other words, they gave me false information and are now walking it back with excuses. Their response was essentially: "We're being more careful now," which offers no resolution or accountability to the patients already affected by their mistake. This situation was entirely avoidable. I was proactive, transparent, and clear about my insurance and my expectations. They gave me misleading information, and now I'm left with a bill I never agreed to -- one I would have avoided had I received honest communication. This behavior is unethical. It's a complete lack of accountability and professionalism, and I find it unacceptable. I will be disputing this charge with the appropriate authorities and reporting the incident as necessary. I strongly advise others to get every assurance from this office in writing. Based on my experience, I would not trust their word.

I was having molar pain and it almost felt like a tooth dying so I thought "root canal". I was amazed that Sherry Dental made time to see me and I wasn't even their actual patient. I was seen at 1:30 today. They explained their covid procedures, hand washing, download the patient forms, come in on time, etc. they took me right away. The front desk was welcoming and pleasant. The assistant was helpful and took me back to the pano x Ray machine after I "de accessorized". Dr Zachary Emerson was the dentist who saw me. He is youthful and exuberant. Very pleasant and welcoming. He asked me some questions and actually complimented my existing dental work noting the high quality and expertise of the previous dentist. My pain was caused due to "recession". Oh how great it is getting old! I'm planning to have him do my check up in the next few weeks but in the Tamaqua office. I appreciated the peace of mind even though I have some pain-I'll survive. Hell I had two children without anesthesia!
