On top of that, I was overbilled twice, and despite reaching out repeatedly, I still haven't received a proper explanation or correction. What makes this even more unfortunate is that the dental hygienist is excellent -- professional, thorough, and genuinely caring. It's a shame that the front office's lack of communication and billing errors overshadow the quality of care provided in the chair. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this office until they significantly improve their responsiveness and billing practices.

Moreover, I had joined the savings plan. However, when I was presented with the bill, and I said that I was under the impression that x-rays, etc., were free, I was told that they are 20% off. Online, the plan clearly states that the x-rays and exam are free. Of course, the bill was not itemized. There was also a charge on my bill for work that the doctor said might have to be done in the future!!! This brought the bill up to $4500.00. I quickly stated that I was not having that work done at present, so Natalie deducted it. However, my bill was still a whopping $1600.00 dollars. That was for the exam, x-rays. cleaning, and 2 fillings. As a retired widow on a fixed income, I must say that such a fee is difficult to manage, but I paid the entire balance, rather than have to pay interest over the course of the next few months. Frankly, I would have walked out if I had not lost a filling from a front tooth. There also seemed to be a great deal of confusion. There was only one dentist on my first visit, so I could not have my filling replaced. I was given two appointments for the following day: 9AM cleaning, and 10AM fillings. When the hygienist completed the cleaning, she said, "I see that your fillings will be done at 11. I quickly protested, and that problem was rectified. When I met with the dentist, who obviously had not even glanced at my health history, she asked the same questions I had been asked the day before. She asked if I had any allergies, and if I take any medication and have any health problems. When I answered "no" to the two latter questions, she just stared at me. I repeated my answer, and she continued to stare, and said "Not even blood pressure?" I told her that I am very healthy and take excellent care of myself. Finally, when she was about to start working on me, she stated that the tooth minus the filling wasn't even listed under the work she was supposed to do!!! I said that that tooth was the reason for my visit! It seems that the dental assistant had recorded the wrong tooth!!! When all was done, she just walked out, and rushed to the next patient. I could mention more, but I am sure you can see why I will not be recommending Aspen Dental to my friends -- maybe my enemies!

This so called dentist is by far the WORST dentist I've ever met in my life. The Hygienist was very…read morenice and easy to work with but when Virginia the dentist walked in it was as if the Tasmanian Devil walked in. She was nasty from the start. She asked me if I had any medial issues, I told her no, only elevated blood pressure (obviously meaning, I don't have any issues other than elevated blood pressure) her response was "Well that is a health issues", yeah, no shit lady! Honestly, It wasn't so much what she said but the tone she used when she said it. Then she examined my teeth and she made it seem as if I was dying of periodontal disease. She DID NOT explain anything to me like what area of the gums needed attention, she made it seem as if I was going to wake up with all my teeth on my pillow the next morning! When I asked questions I was met with more attitude and a nasty demeanor. I asked her if she was the only doctor here and her response was "yes, and I'm not going anywhere". Well Virginia you can keep your ass right there b/c I'm the one whose going somewhere and it's FAR away from you! I go and find a periodontist since you know, I'm dying of periodontal disease and I needed my x-rays as my insurance won't pay for it again since I just had them done. I went back and I told staff I was going to need my x-rays for the periodontist and staff had the nerve to ask me why. I simply told her I wanted to see a specialist. Right away I felt her being indifferent, she took it PERSONAL and she became very cold. I asked her if she would email them today as my appointment was for today, she said yes and NEVER sent them!!!! This would have taken her all but 2 minutes! and guess what, my periodontist was AMAZING and re-did my X-rays for FREE!!!! and the 360 x-rays too AND I found out I am NOT dying of periodontal disease !!! This periodontist was a God sent. If you need a periodontist I HIGHLY recommend Daniel Biar. Not only was staff amazing he was close to perfect! Sometimes you have to have a bad experience to lead you to the right place! If you can, RUN from A + Smile and leave that nasty lady right there!
