As good as Soul Food can be. We use to stop here about 6 times a year when traveling through now it…read moreis about once a year...and oh, how we miss it. We ordered two Meat & 2's and both consisted of A Big Fat Fried Chicken Breast, Black-Eyed Peas and Mac n Cheese. As always the chicken was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside with that perfect fried chicken skin and totally moist meat. The mac n cheese was very moist, not really runny and the texture was the perfect chew. No mushiness and no hard noodles. The black-eyed peas were out of this world good. They had a bit of spice in them and cooked good ole' Southern Style...cooked! We ate and ate until there was not more room. We gladly took our left overs for another wonderful meal. As we were leaving I said, oh, no "I forgot to take pictures. So I went and broke in line and took a couple of the cafeteria style food that everyone was so patiently waiting to be served. The staff works extremely hard. The restaurant is very clean. And the food is absolutely delicious. They do take togo orders and sometimes the line is out the door. They are closed on Saturdays. Highly recommend one try if in the area. Prices have remained relatively low while other places have increased their prices drastically. Our two meals which included drinks and tax was about $21. You can still buy a whole fried wing for under $2...it is $1.95.

Also came with a huge wedge of cake. The chicken was very flavorful and fried well. The green beans were tasty as well. I wasn't a fan of the cake..a bit dry. And who doesn't love a creamy Mac n cheese. I had heard great things about the food here so I was glad I was finally able to try it. They lived up to their reputation.

If you're from Atlanta, then you definitely know the famous Mary Mac's Tea Room, well this is the…read moreAlabama version. This is a hole in the wall place so don't be detered by the ambience as there isn't much but oh wow, the food and the service. Those deserve five stars for sure. The chef personally came out and explained to us what she used and what she recommended. Being a vegetarian , she knew how to make side dishes good without any meat which was a plus for us since we had a vegetarian in our group. See menu attached but how it works is they give you a piece of paper with what's available and if you want meat, you circle one meat and two side dishes for $9.99. This price is great because it also comes with rice, and a roll or cornbread and a drink. You definitely cannot get that deal anywhere else. We decided to go crazy and ordered a bunch more of their other side dishes and they were about $2 - $2.50 each and well worth it. Give them a try, I promise you won't regret it. Note: don't use the bathroom if you don't have to since it's in a weird part of the house/restaurant. In no way is it dirty but it just a makeshift bathroom located in a weird room. You'll know what I mean if you go there. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

CONS: Mash potatoes are instant. Plates lunches at $7.99 (Tues-Fri.) and $9.99 (on Sunday) are…read moreyour only menu option...nothing cheaper than this. The gospel music is great, but much too loud. PROS: The old house is a nice lunch setting. Service is good. The meat and seasoned veggies are delicious!

Five Stars -- This Place Saved the Trip…read more Let me set the scene. We were heading to Callaway Gardens to pick up some Venice jewelry (I'll talk about that later), when I discovered that the Oyster House -- the seafood spot I was counting on -- was permanently closed according to Yelp. I was devastated. Like... fully prepared to cancel Pine Mountain altogether. I was having a whole moment. Then I did a little digging and found out that Eddie Mae's Kountry Kitchen & Oyster Bar had the same owner. I found this out before we arrived, and I knew immediately -- we HAD to stop there. And let me tell you... January 3, 2026 -- this is all I needed in my life. This is GOOD seafood. Like, really good seafood. Freshly cooked. Hot. Flavorful. Done right. The service? AMAZING. The people? Warm, genuine, country hospitality at its finest. The vibe? Real, welcoming, and comfortable -- no nonsense, just good food and good people. Food. Service. Atmosphere. People. Clean restaurant. Clean restrooms. Five stars across the board. I'll be honest -- I will never come to Pine Mountain again unless I know Eddie Mae's is open. I need y'all to hang in there with me because otherwise I can't even travel outside of Atlanta for real. If you want legit seafood, incredible service, and that authentic country goodness -- this is the place.

Wrangling twenty hungry folks is no small feat, but our waitress handled us like a maestro conducting a seafood symphony. Not one single mess up. Not one forgotten order. Just pure joy, laughter, and the kind of energy that makes you swear her heart runs on sweet tea and Sunday kindness. She didn't just serve us, she took care of us. Her laughter kept us laughing, her smile kept us smiling, and her love for what she does poured out like sweet tea on a hot day. The world needs more people like her, because she reminded us that service can be more than just food, it can be a refreshing, soul filling experience. And the food? Absolutely amazing. Not only did we have seafood, but some of us went for the buffet, the kiddos got their grilled cheese, and the burgers were downright delicious. Plates of goodness that made us forget all about yesterday's turkey coma. To top it off, they had my favorite wine (hallelujah!) and beers for everyone else, which meant the whole table was happy. Eddie Mae's gave us more than lunch, it gave us a memory. A funny, touching, belly filling memory that we'll be talking about for years. Five stars, no hesitation.
