It's easy to find in a strip-mall next to a post-office, with a huge amount of parking. This year we thought of trying to do it ourselves, but as Apr 15 (2026) approached, we just werent making progress. We're nerdy enough, but it turned out that the other big-name brand we tried online just doesn't think the way we do. We answered questionnaires, but that company's AI was hit or miss. After days and days, we got to a reasonable number, but our confidence in the outcome was zero. As with most of these companies, we could not see the actual forms before paying, so we just gave up on that company. This HRBlock office gave us an appointment late in the game. I think we called on the Thursday before tax-day and got a Monday appointment! We started uploading everything we had. The advisor contacted us within a day with questions and comparisons to the previous year! Now we're cooking! The back and forth by phone and app-messaging was very helpful, and we learned stuff we had missed on-our-own with the other company. We did so-much so-efficiently that we had our return complete and ready-to-file before our appointment! The active communication, the quality advising, and the learning and clarification really gave us confidence that we had the best tax-outcome possible. Working with a pro took so much stress off of us that this was almost fun! I will whine a little about the price: several hundred dollars, but we are quite happy that we went this route. My advice is to start way-way-early if you want to do it yourself, and if your situation is at all complicated, pay for a pro to at least check your work. We slept better at night, doing it this way. We always make an appointment, and they also take walk-ins. The hours seem to vary with the season. We've had appointments here as early as 1pm and as late as 7:30pm. They have options from less-costly do-it-yourself software and app to full-service face-to-face work. We've always encountered great staff at this location: next to the post office in the Enchanted Forest strip mall, north side of US-40 Baltimore National Pike, just east of Centennial Lane / Bethany Lane. Some nice restaurants and a grocery here, too :-)
