I'd been working with a Vanguard advisor since 2013, but they do recommend you also check with a CPA to determine how to best plan for tax efficiency year after year. I went to the appointment, was kept waiting a bit (no big deal) and once I was in the office this person (Tatyana) looked at my paperwork and started in on me with a very hard sell to get out of the market and let her manage my retirement. I said, "I just want some advice on managing my tax exposure on an annual basis". She said, "I have all of my clients out of the market" she showed me a chart of market trends since 1928 forward..."the market has risen ***% since blah blah blah. How long do you think that will go on????" You are not safe in the market, now. (Well, I've been through the 1999 crash, and fortunately was smart enough to balance my investments before the 2008 "great recession") Tatiyana's pronouncements are scare tactics to doubt what you know and your own investing knowledge and skills. She was not pleasant and was extremely arrogant. She told me to think about it, and come back in a week. I did not go back. Don't go unless you are a lamb wanting to be sheared/fleeced.

Her reduced hours, reportedly due to budget cuts, have negatively impacted on service quality and caused considerable frustration among patrons. Miss Turner is widely regarded as one of the best preparers available. Many patrons, including myself, rely on her expertise to ensure accurate and efficient tax preparation. Unfortunately, during her absence, I had attempts to use other offices. A different location resulted in incorrect amendment that could not be filed as the preparer could not duplicate the original taxes. This led to duplicated efforts and inconvenience, ultimately requiring a return to Miss Turner for corrections. Given these issues, I strongly urge the management to: * Reconsider and restore Miss Turner's regular working hours at the Catonsville office * Implement measures to guarantee experienced preparers such as Miss turner has her hours Thank you for your attention to this matter.
