Parade of Hearts brought us into St Joe. We were hungry and saw the reviews. We love places like…read morethis...what could go wrong?!?!? Well let me start off with the fact they are over an hour away from our home. Considering they have ruined us on any and all other burger and fries, it might become a habit. Husband had the Blackberry Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger. I do not on the norm like blackberries, but on this!!!! The blackberries sweetness stands against the strong overpowering blue cheese and they meld well to make a wonderful tasting combo. I ordered There Goes My Gryo.....how did they get a freaking lamb burger, a very lean meat be that juicy!?!? I dont know but with the peppers, tomato and onion made a fresh hamburger, might be good with some kalamata olive....but I am not complaining. It was delicious. I am picky on my fries and usually dont eat the full amount restaurants serve. I had to stop myself. They are more like a shoestring but not hard or crunchy. Seasoned wonderfully! My suggestion you go in there with a big appetite, grab lots of napkins and be ready to devour the best burger you've ever had!

We also got soda floats which they serve ice cream and soda separately. We got to enjoy cold soda and kids enjoyed vanilla ice cream. Overall great service and ambiance. Just need to go early to get seating since pretty limited.

(Especially in this economy) While ordering online, be aware that the time it says on the ordering portal/site is not generally accurate. I, on multiple occasions, have ordered something with a specific pick up time selected (I left plenty of time, thirty minutes from when I ordered to when I wanted to pick it up) and the food still was not ready. Ex: ordered at 11:30 am, pick up time of 11:55-12:00, food was ready closer to 12:10 and I received the 'your food is ready text' at 12:45 pm. While this isn't a bad thing if you have time, if you're on a tight lunch schedule I'd look otherwise. This location is also a bit smaller than their Parkville location, so if it's crowded it's very noticeable and can get a little overwhelming. I do prefer the Platte City location to Parkville though, as their Parkville location doesn't do that good of a job when I order online (this may just be me but I have to take it into consideration). Overall, I do recommend it, just be aware that it is pricey, when packed it can get a little overwhelming, and be aware of how long you have to eat.

Oof. Big changes at GDFC in the last few months. Came in for my normal start of spring trip after…read morejust being here in late fall, and the whole inside is different (less retail, more space) and several new kitchen remodel upgrades. It looks clean but isn't the same home-y spot we all loved. The kicker, though, is they changed the menu boards which now don't tell you what things are and they've like everyone else increased prices of normal items, including items that used to be included. Sandwiches used to come with chips, and now sandwiches are more and the small single size of chips are $4! Apparently they didn't read PepsiCo just missed a billion dollars in sales because they keep raising prices on Doritos. I can see add-ons for high quality products like soup, specialty fries, etc. I also know GDFC has expanded into KC, and I've been and spent healthy money at that luxury spot several times. But c'mon, this is just ludicrous charges at this point. When I realized the chip change, I asked for a refund of those alone, and the new sales terminal system took forever for multiple people to figure out. The manager on duty had to ultimately refund the whole thing, and reorder my entire order, meaning it's now cost all of us money in time. The staff is completely different - there's a chef in the back wearing a white coat like it's fine dining... the rest of the staff is friendly enough, but also not the same level of home we all got used to for many years. My sandwich finally came out, and it looks nothing like what we used to get - the Cuban is on a hoagie style roll. Not even that good anymore. No more winery inside, and limited drink options overall. And no more fresh ice cream, just overpriced "soft serve." I know we're in times that are a'changin... but some of it has gone too far. Hopefully they keep the same level of loyal business I imagine they had before. My loyalty has definitely shifted instantly to once in a while, if that.

It has a very different vibe and menu than the other places in town which is a nice switch up but it is outside of the main area of town a bit (still only like a 3-5 minute drive from downtown so not bad at all). They have amazing sandwichs, soups, and charcuterie boards. Honestly, I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. The outdoor seating area is quite vast with plenty of room to spread out and get some fresh air when it's nice out! All the employees were super nice and willing to give honest suggestions on what to get. I would love to do a wine tasting and try other menu items next time I visit! Add this place to your list for your next trip!

As in the fillings were falling out of hubs Rueben sandwich which could have fed us both. I had a half tenderloin, also huge. Rueben was great, tenderloin pretty darn good, hot out of the fryer, breading perfect, I wished for a bit more seasoning, but overall very good. Suggest you order an entree to share and pick up an extra side unless you want leftovers. We saw a couple hamburgers come out and I don't think even hubs could finish one. I'd like to go back and save room for pie! This place is popular so expect it to be busy and the food may take longer than 5 minutes but it's okay because the locals are friendly and if you're there, you're a local too.

My wife had the grilled chicken BLT and she loved it as well. The tables in the front room main seating area are designed to be more family style to accommodate more patrons. I understand that there is additional seating in the back, but I did not see it. It was busy when we arrived around 11:25AM for lunch. Our server told us that the tenderloin would take a little bit of time and we were fine with that. Any sandwich that has a pizza box as it's "to go" package has to be huge. I have eaten a lot of pork tenderloins growing up in the Midwest, but have never had one as meaty, tenderloin and spiced perfectly as this one. The pie and brownies looked awesome and the burgers were huge also and loaded with meat. We will be back!
