Ham and bean soup w/cornbread biscuits

Driving past St Joseph and saw all the good reviews at this place so we decided to have lunch there. Simple home style Cafe and it was pretty good. I like the small simple menu and they have different specials everyday. Very good prices too. I ordered the Taco Burger with fries and it was really good. Everything tasted nice and fresh and good quality food. I like the crinkle fries. Wife ordered the "special" which was ham and bean soup and it was above average good. Plus she got three small sides with it and all three were good (deviled eggs, macaroni salad and potato salads). My daughter ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich and it looked and tasted very good. If you order a cinnamon roll go light on the icing bc they put a lot on it, but it was good. We got there at 1:35pm and they close at 2pm. They were very nice and had no problem seating us with less than half hour of closing. The service was great and the waitress was very friendly. I highly recommend this place.

I have not lived in St Joe for close to 7 years. But this was a great memory of my youth. I'm so glad to see that Betty's Cafe was kept in the family and they didn't change a thing. The best biscuits and gravy ever!! Still packed and still has a lot of the same waitresses I remember from several years back. They know all the regulars names and orders. If you are in the area stop in you won't be disappointed. Bring cash though they don't take plastic. Today they had a medium biscuit and gravy with sausage or bacon for $4.75! Betty's Cafe a South Side tradition!!

This place literally brought tears to our eyes and down our faces!! It reminded us if your Momma's ! We both had the beans and ham and we both had a side salad and then he got cottage cheese and deviled eggs and I got the eggs and potato salad!! The eggs had me crying because they reminded me of my Mommas ! She passed away in 2006 ! Our waitress was so sweet and kind to us and to customers that werent even hers! We are going back for breakfast asap!! Bring cash because they will take that but not your fancy plastic!! Oh we also had apple dump cake which reminded me of my Mawmaws!! Keep doing what yall do because it is amazing!!

The turkey bacon club: The bacon on the flaky, buttery croissant was smoky and wonderful. The turkey was plentiful. And the cheese was melty. The mayo, lettuce and toms work well on this sandwich. I will definitely have this sandwich again! The chicken Caesar salad: The lettuce was fresh and the Parmesan was plentiful. The Caesar dressing was perfect. The croutons really are homemade--and were my favorite part. I will definitely have this salad again. I've had their signature cranberry/nut salad, chicken salad sandwich and tuna salad sandwich before--all are pretty good but I don't crave them like I will the two items above. The latte was good. I love their coffee. The ambiance is beautiful. The tile in the main room and the different tile in the bathroom are both gorgeous. Good service too. This is a great little unique coffee shop to have a nice lunch!!

The cafe is reminiscent of small neighborhood coffee shops, mixed with Italia touches. Tables are scattered throughout, with a hidden nook for private conversations. Their menu is diversified, but still offers the standard cafe offerings. The chicken salad was sampled on this trip , and had an herby edge to it. The broccoli soup is slightly watery, but great flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and welcomed long conversations. A major plus? The space can be rented by the hour. They also allow outside food/drink. Unheard of , but greatly appreciated. We used it for them for an event today, and were so overwhelmed by the owners/staff. Very accommodating and easy to work with. Great space, and easily customized for your event. Thanks to the Pronto cafe staff- you made our day easier!

The baristas were great at breaking down what everything was and what their top sellers were. Every single thing I got was delicious, and a special shout out to the dill pickle bagel. nobody is doing it like she is. There's not a ton of seating in the café and they don't have Wi-Fi. Some people were still in there working on laptops (I assume from hotspots) but I would say this is a better place to come if you want a delicious baked good and a screen-free hang.

First thing to note is Cellar Door is SMALL so plan accordingly, you might not get lucky enough to get a table (we were, but we also got there early). You order at the counter and they bring out your food. I had a pastry recommended by my friend an the cauliflower wrap. I'm still dreaming of the wrap to be honest. The cauliflower was perfectly roasted, the sauce was divine, and the bread? Holy cow they clearly make it in house - so delicious. My friend sent me home with a babka which was also stellar. Can't rave about this place more - just go here if you're in the area. I can't wait to return.
