Both were very good and I even asked where the sausage was sourced because it was the best I've had. Chicago! The portions were big enough to make 3 meals and the price did not break the bank. My wife and I went out for pizza and decided on Johnnie D's after seeing the rave reviews. We weren't disappointed, in fact it was fantastic and the waitress was amazing as she handled the entire dining room herself and did it with poise and grace. We had pepperoni pizza, lasagna and spinach ravioli. Everything was very good. My side salad huge but only downside was mostly iceberg. I did get lunch portion of ravioli and glad I did because portions are large :) Small place but comfortable and great customer service. Our waitress made sure we were aware meal was a bit delayed due to being short staffed. She checked on us frequently and refilled drinks as needed. I think Johnny d's has the best chicken wings and anything you order will be the largest dish you've ever seen in any restaurant. I kid you not. I can eat a lot but I have never been able to eat a dinner size meal at Johnny's. They are big enough for 2 or 3 people to eat This is the only Italian restaurant we ever go to. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately our experience here was very disappointing. From the moment we were seated, our waitress seemed irritated that we were there. She was short with us, rushed through taking our order, and acted annoyed when we asked simple questions about the menu. Throughout the meal we felt like we were an inconvenience rather than customers. The service only went downhill from there. Drinks sat empty for quite a while and I had to take our cup to the counter to get the attention of the waitress that was on her phone.When our waitress did come back, her attitude was still very dismissive and unfriendly. On top of the service issues, the overall experience just felt disorganized and unpleasant. Going out to eat should be enjoyable, but this visit left us frustrated and uncomfortable. Solid pizza!!!! Not the best I've ever had but this is a small mountain town and it was good! I'd call it 4 star pizza. Wings though? No thanks. We even ordered them "extra crispy" and they were soft, the skin was chewy, and they were overwhelmingly unsatisfying. Small place, consistently busy. They helped us move tables to accommodate our group which I appreciated. Only 1 (fairly clean) bathroom and everyone in the restaurant seemed to need to use it at the same time as us so had to keep waiting. read more

A local recommended Johnnie D's when we mentioned we were going to order pizza at another popular pizza place.. our kids enjoyed their pizza. My husband thought it better than the other place. I thought the pizza sauce was so flavorful, which isn't usually something that stands out to me. The pizza wasn't greasy and the meats weren't floating in oil. FYI-the pizza was even better as leftovers. We popped it in the oven and the crust had the type of crunch we like. We'll order again. It's worth the extra 15 minute drive. read more

Really good pizza and the spaghetti & meatball dinners are so tasty (And huge! Be hungry!!! You'll still have leftovers). Once my pizza was so good I couldn't stuff it in fast enough. Half pepperoni and cheese, I dressed it there w parm, garlic powder, oregano and crushed red pepper. They have an old school pizzeria dining vibe if you want to eat there. Great experience! Visited my sister who lives in the area. We called to make sure they were open and they were. We were tired of being cooped up so we drove over. We were greeted outdoors by a young server. We were informed with the current health crisis we could order from outside and wait approximately 15-20 minutes for our order. We ordered their version of a combination pizza with meatballs. We also ordered their white sauce and pesto sauce on the side to dip our crust in. We were served before the 20 minutes were up. We rushed home to eat her pizza while it was hot. The pizza was tasty. I was a little bit disappointed that the meatballs were chopped up tiny. I would have like them a bit more chunky, to get the true meatball affect. The pizza was good. Their pesto was amazing The White sauce really had no flavor. It appeared to have chopped up basil or some type of herb in it, but you could not detect a taste of it. Great customer service. read more

We were recently in pine top Az and we were looking for a good pizza restaurant. As everyone does, we looked on line and read the reviews. Johnnie D came up as excellent pizza... what a disappointment this was! I don't know what criteria others use to rate pizza, but OMG what am I missing here? The crust was flavorless and tasted like cardboard, low quality cheese and not very much of it. The sausage was a frozen product, little chunks I call kibble. No flavor at all! The salad was old, looked like a poor quality salad mix out of a bag. Finally, If you want to make great pizza, DON"T CUT CORNERS! for the sake of food cost... Buy quality products, make great pizza and charge for it...I will be your best customer and advocate. read more
