If you like the Gen X sticky bar with a layer of filth, this place is for you. There wasn't a single clean plate, fork or glass in the entire restaurant. Even Buffalo Wild Wings is cleaner. My wife ordered a wine, which arrived with a floaty, I got severed a fork and knife with scum on it and every glass looked like it had never been properly sanitized. Our waitress, Grace, was amazing. Very friendly, kind, and ran around like crazy making sure the patrons were taken care of. The food was mediocre, reminded me of your average place that serves GFS or Sysco foods. Can't say I'd ever come back or try their new place Juan Blanco's, especially if it's anything like this. I would have rather gone to CK Diggs, which also has mediocre food, but at least it's clean.

Best thing: Salad was AH-MAZING! Excellent umani flavors and textures. WORST thing: Atmosphere, especially the LOUD music. On a Monday night. Kindly requested to have it lowered so our group can hear each other to hopefully have a pleasant experience. Server said she will get her manager to do that. She actually returned to the table asking if we thought the volume was turned down. Nope. That Jedi mind trick did not work on us. Even when we said no, nothing was further done. So we suffered. No shock that Yelp rated this location less than 4 stars. Moral of the story: Order carryout. Dine al fresco, weather permitting. Or, be like a millennial (i.e. in lieu of IRL face to face conversations, use technology) instead of an aspiring deipnosophist.

First time eating here. Inside look nice and neat with a lot of tvs but we choose to eat outside. We were seated immediately and within 2 minutes our waitress came to welcome us. We gave drink orders and had our drinks within 2 minutes also. We had a couple questions for our waitress and Hannah was very helpful and attentive. Hannah was wonderful. We placed our order and appetizers and main courses were out with 15 minutes. We thought the food was delicious! We split a loaded fries, which was yummy. We also got a quesadilla and burger with tots. Both very good. We had a wonderful experience and will return soon. Thanks again Hannah!

Food is okay. Service is also ok. Indoor/outdoor seating. It's not busy. The manager wanted to be friends, with her staff, and truly didn't want to do her job. Unprofessional setting. I would not go back. Skip or go at Your own risk.

Ordered the bourbon Brussels sprouts and the Buffalo cauliflower, a Brookland's salad with blackened chicken and no, Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The Buffalo cauliflower is ok, although a bit more crispy would make it better. It has good seasoning though. The bourbon Brussels sprouts are good. I really like the Gorgonzola in this starter. The Brookland's salad is okay. Had a few not so appealing looking lettuce in it. The balsamic mustard vinaigrette is not my favorite, way too sweet.

Great meals and service every time I have been here. Love the selection of food, the wait staff is plentiful and alway around seeing that you are taken care of. Makes for a great experience in this local gastropub. This time I tried their Michigan Chicken Cherry Salad. Loaded with Mixed Greens, Tomato, Cucumber, Dried Cherries, Walnuts, Bleu Cheese Crumbles, and Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing. Everything was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. Plenty of toppings and made for a good meal.

First time coming here and all around impressed. We didn't come during a busy time so were promptly sat at a table, and our waitress was awesome. We started with the Frickles (fried pickles), they were fresh, crunchy, flavorful and everything you'd want/expect from a fried pickle! Their Johnny sauce went perfect with them. I ordered the Drunken Fish and Chips and it was the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Came with three large pieces of fried cod and a large amount of seasoned fries. Both the fish and fries were fresh and crispy. My friend ordered the Baja Fish Tacos with fried fish and they were awesome. She also ordered loaded tots (in place of the chips and salsa), which were good. Definitely recommend and will be returning! PS: They have a large outdoor dining/seating area as well, even the inside is spacious - but always refreshing to sit outside in the summer.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Do not come here. I never leave reviews, but this was a must. For starters, the bartenders, Sophia and Kat are terrible. Kat was rude and arrogant, and made my experience extremely unpleasant. Sophia seemed to have ZERO brain cells and didn't understand what any customers were asking for... how can you have a bartender that doesn't know how to make a drink?! The manager, Courtney, didn't seem to care about the lack of hospitality as she was very unpleasant herself. I will also say, with as much respect as I can, I came in here several times a few months back with my buddies and the girls working then were much easier on the eyes... this new staff seems to not only be an ugly sore looks-wise, but personality-wise as well! Such a shame. As for the food- my burger was lukewarm and I felt sick after eating it, fries were ok but definitely had been sitting out for a while. There were fruit flies all over while I was trying to eat and Kat basically told me to suck it up when I made a comment about them. I then watched one server pick a fly out of a cocktail and she proceeded to bring it to her table anyway!! DISGUSTING. I will never come back to this place. If you are looking for filthy, clueless, rude, arrogant and disgusting service, then this is the place for you! read more

It's Johnny Blacks and it hasn't changed in years. Somehow the prices haven't gone up as much as other places. Service is all depending on the server but can be a bit of a wild card if you sit inside. Bar and outside I have never had an issue. read more

Worst restaurant I've been to. Chips had no seasoning to them, very plain and not enjoyable to eat. House burger was bland. Steak was not a good cut of meat, and brussels sprouts were undercooked. Terrible mashed potatoes that came with the steak. Got a Gatsby drink and it wasn't bad but a lot of pulp which made it difficult to drink. I recommend you don't come here. Servers are wearing booty shorts as well so it looks very unprofessional. read more

What a wonderful surprise! I've heard good things and have been to another location. This was our 1st visit here. I never order ribs when dining out but they just sounded especially good. And boy were they! Able to eat them with knife and fork as the meat literally fell off the bone. So tender and delicious. I didn't even need the hand wipes they provided. Great coleslaw, too. My husband had the Rib Eye (very reasonably priced) and our friend had fish and chips. Both meals earned rave reviews. Good drinks and service was super. We are anxious to return! read more

We had a retirement party here and I feel they did a great job. We requested separate checks for about 25 people that were coming and going and they had no problem helping with this. Of course I let them know this when I made the reservation. The food was good & so were the drinks. I had the Filet Sliders w/Whiskey Onions, Blue Cheese Crumbles & Tater Tots. It was delicious. Thanks so much for making this a fun night to remember. Our only issue was the parking lot was a very thick sheet of ice. I understand that sometimes Mother Nature doesn't care about our outing but maybe they could have requested the salt truck come out again. read more

The food is terrible. Waitstaff is slow and disrespectful. Sophia drop off my bill. I had my credit card out. An hour and 45 minutes later I still could not leave because no one would cash me out. I asked a few waitresses and Courtney the General Manager. Courtney went into attack mode defending the 1.75 wait to get checked out. Sophia took a bill with cash from another customers waiting for his change longer than me. Courtney was very rude to him when he said I just want my change so I can get home. When I complained to Sophia for the long wait she called me a miserable B and said over and over I hope you find happiness because you're a miserable person. I hope you find peace because you're an ugly person. I told would be happy if she checked me out and she keep repeating she hopes I find happiness because I am miserable. Courtney said leave the B alone she said she's never coming back so ignore her. They add the to on automatically so do not have to provide good customer service. Forget about getting refills. We even had to get up and get our own silverware. I asked for a carry out box. 45 minutes later she said they were at the end of a table instead of bringing the carry out box to me. read more

Have been here a couple times as we have family in the area. Nice atmosphere and our service was great. Nice menu - everything we have ordered has been good and prices are reasonable. Perch dinner was excellent. Can get a little noisy in the evening but we are older so take that with a grain of salt! read more

I tried the DDDBurger very good and you have your choice of fries or tater tots I did the tots very good and the friendly bartender Haley suggested the new Oberon Elipse beer OMG it was good have to get some for myself later, So great atmosphere, great food selection full bar nice whiskey selection too...what else can you ask for...come here try it! read more

JB's undoubtedly is for many patrons. We arrived relatively early for dinner and were seated quickly by one of the many young female servers attired in black sports bras and skin tight athletic pants. We observed many folks being seated. Young and older couples, dates, and families. Guys hanging out, talking loudly. JB's is black! Walls and ceiling. Has many TVs. Is vibrating with loud music with rhythmic deep base. Has concrete floors to accentuate the beat of the music and chatter of everyone. Some people enjoy the buzz of excessive noise. Could we say it's a large disco tech sports bar with food? In the summer they have outdoor seating and the doors are wide open creating a festive atmosphere. Seating was in a clean modern setting. Their food okay. My guest and I both said that we wouldn't order our sandwich or fish dish again. imho, food is an opportunity for improvement. read more

Nice outdoor patio, good food, staff needs a little more training. We had the calamari and the chicken florentine pasta, and a fruity drink. The drink was delivered when we were almost done eating, she never really checked in on us, we had to ask another server to bring us napkins and utensils...the calamari was cooked to perfection, crispy while still. Tender, I wish they still had the lemon sauce they had with it a while ago, they now served it with spicy Mayo and it just doesn't compliment the calamari at all, even marinara would of been better. The pasta was okay, we picked out all of the chicken, it was way over cooked and dry, next time we'll try the same pasta but with shrimp. Will come back, we loved the patio, and I need to try that calamari again! read more

I've driven past this place numerous times and finally decided to stop in for a little date night. It's on auburn road and in a cool little area which the city seems to be turning into a fancy downtown. Let me say this right off the bat, if you're drinking, go with beer or wine; their cocktails taste like they're just using some nasty mixes instead of fresh ingredients. But let's get to the good stuff; the Frickles were delicious. Most places seem to give you a soggy pickle with way too much breading. This was perfect. Crunchy pickle, light layer of breading and a really good dipping sauce. I got the cubano with sweet potato tots. It came with an amazing cinnamon sugar, on par, if not better than what Texas Roadhouse gives you. The cubano was excellent, the pickles were crunchy, light layer of mustard was spot on. The ham tasted awesome. My wife got the am burger with that runny egg on top. She was pretty happy with it, but also kept stealing my sweet potato tots. So ignore the fact that they up charge you $2, and get the sweet over the regular! read more

Food was OK. Blackened steak bowl was decent but meat was not spice blackened. Rice and cabbage needed some flavor. Chicken tenders over cooked. Bourbon Brussels are worth the visit. Order them as an app. Claims a big tap selection but it's limited. Staff was friendly. Did not bring out meals all together and needed to apologize with us and a table over, Atmosphere is good. Many tvs options for tables or booths and outside near the road. read more

Went for a good time and meal on a date! Great music choices and good vibes. Here was my order: -mozzarella sticks: also started with the brussels sprouts, great choice! -Blackened chicken Alfredo with the fried chicken instead of grilled chicken -sirloin steak medium rare and it comes with asparagus and mashed potatoes -then we got tater tots on the side -we ended the night with the chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream for dessert- No regrets;) read more

Was looking for a more private house, but a public one will do. I agree, Jasmine is the greatest server on planet earth. As long as she is employed here we are coming back. She must have psychic powers, didn't even have to order, food magically appeared. Drinks? it's like she has a genie or something, they were spot on! No flying carpets though. Food and drinks were very good. Server was attentive and friendly. Prices are extremely reasonable considering the past few year's inflation. Nice patio out front. The only thing negative is that the lighting is really dark once the sun went down. read more

I've been eyeing up this place for a long time. The exterior of the building is very modern and fun looking. There is a nice bike path there from crooks so we rode our bikes here one evening and we will definitely be back! I ALMOST left because the hostes area when you first walk in smelled questionable but we quickly got a seat. They have a large drink menu with lots of beers on tap and the Baja fish tacos are ~amazing~ Next time I come I'd love to split the frickles and fish tacos with my husband because they would be the perfect meal and portion sizing. read more

I went here with my bf & adult son. We liked it so much that we came back. The small bite plates are really good. They have a huge variety and you really can't go wrong with anything you order.Have tried the steak bites, cheese sticks, pretzels rods, and everything has been really good! As for their dinners the drunken fish & chips are my favorite. Also the macaroni and cheese is really good!! The only thing I wasn't happy about was the size of their strawberry margarita. Which was small & expensive! Besides that the food was good & the service was exceptional. I will return in the near future! read more

Went here with my mom for lunch. We both enjoyed our food and drinks and the waitress was great, efficient and friendly. The inside could use an update, I thought it would be on par with the Johnny Blacks in Sterling Heights but it's not quite the same vibe inside. I'd definitely go back though, we enjoyed dining here. read more

If you do go here and order a dirty martini, just be aware that they charge extra for the blue cheese olives. They don't tell you that either.

Been there 3 times and each time it was not the best experience.... 1st time: Nachos burnt, hard and couldn't eat. 2nd time: Tried to call in a carry out it was so loud that the bartender could not hear me... after a few minutes she went to a quieter phone. When I got there I was told by the hostess to go up to the bar and they would help me. There were 2 bartenders, 1 was washing dishes and helping other ciustomers at the opposite end of the bar, the other bartender was dancing in front of 2 couples sitting at the bar. She appeared drunk, bending over dancing with her butt in the air and shaking her top... I didn't know if I was in a strip club or a restaurant. After standing around for about 10 minutes the other bartender noticed me and got my order for me. All the while the bartender that was within feet of me continued to dance and ignore me. 3rd time: Food was great, I was so excited! However when I got my bill I was shocked... I asked the waitress for a Margarita on the rocks and if they had a flavored liquor like Chambord to add a shot. She came back and said yes... Well I had 3 drinks and they were great however when I got my bill the Margaritas were $23. each. $10 for a well margarita and $13. for the SHOT of chambord. I could not believe it!! You would think that she would have informed me about the cost but she didn't. I love the food. Many friends like to go there, when we go it is with a large group and I am conflicted... Writing reviews like this is never easy, especially when you had high hopes for a place. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Johnny Black's Public House based on the service and dining experience I had. The first major letdown was the waitress. It was evident that she didn't want to be there, and her lack of enthusiasm set a negative tone for the entire meal. While it's possible she was having an off day, it shouldn't be the customer's burden to bear. To add to the disappointment, the food took an unusually long time to arrive, even during what should have been slow hours when the restaurant was mostly empty. Waiting for an extended period can significantly affect the overall dining experience, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction. The Western Burger, which I had high expectations for, turned out to be a huge letdown. It lacked flavor and was disappointingly soggy, making it far from the satisfying burger I had hoped for. This dampened the entire meal experience and left me feeling underwhelmed. As for the turkey wrap, it was just passable, but poorly rolled, which affected the overall presentation and enjoyment of the dish. It's possible that my visit coincided with an off day for the restaurant, but as a customer, it's disheartening to have to endure a disappointing experience. That's why we had to sit and watch each other eat one after the other. Unfortunately, neither the young gentleman who brought the food nor the woman who collected the money understood us. First time here and was not impressed by walking in the door. We are greeted by a girl sitting at the bar eating when they just opened at 11 and she said in between her bites have a seat anywhere. She was our waitress #138 on my receipt. Was not impressed with her. Her phone was more important than taking care of us. But the food we got was very good.
