I can't get past ordering the crab stuffed salmon, but everything else companions have had there has been excellent...except - the prime rib seems to have gone down in quality. Not sure if they are using lower quality beef to keep prices reasonable or what. So we don't order that anymore. But might try it again sometime. Maybe it was just a bad couple visits for prime rib. Last night was our first visit and we were impressed! The food was really good! We had an assortment of steak and fish dishes & everyone was pleased. The food was perfectly seasoned, not too salty, and piping hot. The variety of side dish choices was impressive, there's something for everyone. There is even a good selection on the children's menu. The place was very busy since it was a Friday night. The noise levels were still low enough that we could easily talk with our friends. The food was decent! This location is a bit smaller but I had no problem getting a seat with my family. The service was decently quick and we got our food fairly quickly as well! This is definitely a good place to go if you're looking for something with great food and higher end vibes but decent prices! I will continue to go back to this location. I have been going to Lucky's in Imlay city for years as a halfway point to meet family for holidays or birthdays. I don't know if there's any wrong thing to order at Lucky's. I'll begin with the appetizers, the seafood stuffed mushrooms are outstanding, and the fish tacos are incredible. Lucky's fish tacos are some of my favorite ever. However, I wish they had some rice to serve with them. That would be fabulous.Let's move on to soup and salad. The baked potato soup is a meal in itself. The Garden salads are always great and plentiful. The bread, wind, warm, is dreamy. On to entrées. The Parmesan grouper or stuffed grouper is very good. Their options for sides are endless, you'll definitely find something that appeals to you. I don't know how Luckys does it in terms of quality and portion, but I hope it keeps on bringing them success. read more

Great prices! Good food. Decent Service. Went there on a Saturday afternoon because I was craving a steak sandwich. We got there and it was ~ 1/3 full, not busy, but our server was just as slow as molasses getting us drinks, taking our order, and serving our food. Shared a bowl of french onion with hubby, and it tasted just like I wanted it to, salty, beefy, oniony, and cheesy. Hubby's food came out a good 10 minute before mine. Did not love that. Hubby got the chicken Marsala. You could tell they made their own sauce, which I appreciate, but the white wine they used in it was way too sweet for our liking, but the chicken was cooked perfectly, wasn't dry. I got the the prime french dip and onion rings. The rings were good. The sandwich, well, it was fine, but not crave-able. They appear to make their own bread, but it was too hard for my liking. They forgot to put the creamy horseradish sauce on, and give me au jus for dipping, so that was another 5 min before our server got it to us. So I filled up on the onion rings and took 4/5 of the sandwich home. Which I must add, the sandwich was way better as leftovers, once the bread soften up with the juices and such. Lucky is the best. How can I even say that me? And my wife enjoyed ourselves on my birthday and my wife thought of every thing the food was excellent. It was out of this world. The lobster tail very enjoyable, the service that we have, and the waitress that we had was very exceptionable. service, the young lady that attended our table. Was 8 months pregnant and she not complaining not 1 bit and had a whole lot of energy to be pregnant. When I looked at her, he looked like she never got tired. The setup of the restaurant was lovely. I haven't been here in quite awhile so I was looking forward to it I honestly think the last time I was here I wrote a review, and it was a good one, well..... This time the meal was not so good, they added lamb shank to the menu and I love a good lamb shank, but this wasn't it very bland, and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were fake.... But the service was great, Rose our server was very attentive and very nice ... And I have to say the carrot cake is still amazing.. But the prices did go up, but I think that's everywhere I go.. We had an excellent experience at Lucky's the other night to celebrate a birthday. The prices are very good and you get a lot with your meal. The complimentary bread is amazing! Entrees came with soup or salad and a side (there are MANY sides to choose from). My steak was cooked to perfection, and I had the stack of Cajun shrimp with it. Next time I will ask for the sauce on the side; I must not have read the menu clearly. I upgraded my salad to the wedge (for under $2) and it was delicious. Our service was very good. I can throw down a lot of food, but I was absolutely stuffed after 1 taco and 1 piece of the amazing bread they serve. I ended up eating the other one for dinner. The only bad thing was I didn't take a picture of them. I would look in the menu photos and prepare to be shocked. The staff was friendly and attentive and the service was great. We got seated right away, and Hannah our server came right to us, I requested to be moved to a bit larger table as it felt crowded, she happily accommodated us. The service was great but all the food we had was very delicious. I had steak medallions, great flavor with zip sauce, husband had prime rib cooked to perfection, our friends had I believe Chicken Maryland and loved it. I love Lucky's - but not this location!! We got seated and got our water immediately and menus, and that was where the good part ends. We each ordered a dinner meal that came with a salad or soup. we both got salad which the waitress brought out immediately. The dinner salad that comes with the meals is actually very good. That began our hour and a half wait for our meal. This restaurant was not full at the time. There were many open tables so I couldn't figure out what was taking so long. The waitress came by once to refill my water and my friend at some point asked her how much longer it was going to be, and she kind of blew him off. When she brought my dinner I asked her where my baked potato was and she said oh you didn't order one but I'll go get you one!! That was so strange because when she asked me what side dishes I wanted, she directed me to the back of the menu where I said do you have baked potato and she said yes. Then she said what other side dish would you like so I got broccoli. The broccoli was literally floating in a bowl of water, which I poured out onto another plate because I couldn't believe it actually had so much water in it. I'm guessing that maybe it was frozen broccoli and that was the moisture that had melted off the frozen part. Never had a bad experience here! I have many favorites like the lobster and shrimp pasta and the calamari. My family loves the steak and you cannot beat the price for filet or lobster tails in rochester. I haven't found any fine dining restaurant in metro Detroit that has lobster tail and shrimp pasta for $23, or a filet mignon for $20. The baked potatoes are huge, definitely a must get side. The main downside of Lucky's is that they don't take reservations. Even with call ahead to reserve, they will sit a 10 top before your 8 top, even if you've waited 20 minutes longer than the other party just because a table that can accommodate 10 has opened up. I feel that the large party that has waited longer should get priority but I am not to say how they run their seating. This visit was the first time we had a larger party, so maybe that was just an experience for this last visit. Regardless we love the food for the price. read more

Luckys, you used to have great garlic mashed, when did you start using instant from a box? Horrible, zero flavor and they were instant! Not what you'd expect from a decent steakhouse restaurant. Issue #2, we all ordered medium well. Two were super well and so tough we couldn't chew. Maybe take away a few tables and serve better food to a smaller crowd. Quality is not what it used to be here. We've been coming here for years since you opened. The last two times were not good, don't think we'll be back anytime soon. Also, not sure how a wheel chair could fit anywhere in your space.
