First off service was warm and friendly the staff eager to give their recommendations. I ordered stuffed mushrooms for my table I had a wedge salad and lasagna. Stuffed mushrooms were very cheesy and a bit salty. One can tell this was previously frozen as the mushrooms had a soggy texture. Had some sort of Alfredo was a bit overkill. The setting was nice, staff was awesome and speedy (we had a party of 9) and the chicken parm was perfect! I recommend getting that paired with the spicy marinara. The bread they bring out is really good but if I'm being uber critical, the oil and herbs they give you to dip the bread in is bland, almost tasteless to be honest. My partner gets weekly massages in Albany, so we're down here pretty much every week. Afterwards, we want to get something to eat, but it can be hard because my partner is Celiac and a lot of our "safe" places in the area close by the time she's done with her massage. So the last time we were there, we saw on Find Me Gluten Free that Johnny Carino's was reported as pretty safe. We decide to give it a try and get there around 8PM on a Friday. We were seated quickly and the server was right there for us. My partner explained her allergy and he was very thorough in reassuring her that they can accommodate her gluten allergy. In fact, when she asked about the water that they boiled their pasta in, and if there was a dedicated Gluten Free one, he practically scoffed when he told her "of course." (In a good, positive way. He was a very amiable person!) So that was a good sign for us. Carino's brought me out a fresh loaf of Italian bread and a shallow dish of olive oil. My partner couldn't have this, BUT...the waiter then offered her a basket of gluten free flatbread, as well as another dish of olive oil. This was awesome! Rarely do we go to a restaurant where we can both have bread as a starter! (For the record: I normally don't eat the bread when we go out to eat together, but I was flat starving and she gave me the go ahead for it, because it was fresh baked and looked so good. I just had to describe the taste to her.) There were plenty of options for her (and me as well, but I'm easy). In the end, she opted for Chicken Marsala with gluten free pasta and I went with the Johnny's Combo. This included a portion of chicken parmesan, lasagna, and spaghetti with red sauce. I'm not a fan of restaurant spaghetti and sauce, so I asked to substitute fettucine alfredo, and they were happy to oblige. The food came quickly, but not "microwave" quickly, IMO. The portions were huge...very huge. The price was somewhat on the high side for a casual dining restaurant (25$ or so per entree), but the portion size, along with the bread, was worth it. The food itself was good, if not spectacular. I enjoyed it quite a bit but I certainly wouldn't think it's the best example of Italian food I've ever had. We had enough for leftovers and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The server was quick on refills for my soda and water, and was attentive to my partner when she needed wine. That and his attention to detail to ensure a gluten free experience means that we will gladly work Carino's into our GF Dinner Rotation. read more

A great value for lunchtime! We enjoyed a tasty lunch with entrees and salads for each of us, an appetizer, and iced teas for under $35! Ordering from the Pasta Harvest menu is the way to go if you want to save money and explore the menu a little bit. In our case, it allowed us to get an appetizer - the Italian Nachos. The "nachos" are made of crispy, fried pasta - very interesting, and had a nice flavor, although the Alfredo sauce made the nachos a little soggy. The service was great - our waitress was very attentive, friendly, and happy to point us to menu items that we might enjoy. Please excuse the service being a bit on the slow side - this location appears to be short staffed, but it's clear they're trying their best! One of my favorite parts of our meal was the toasted olive oil dip that came with our bread! Very tasty and felt like a fancy addition to our meal. I thought our main course was good as well - served in just the right portions if ordering off the Pasta Harvest (otherwise, I believe the servings are larger). I was really excited to find a Carino's on the west coast. I worked at one in Indiana for a couple of years and have been craving the Romano sauce. We drove up from Eugene for dinner. When we got there, they were out of menus. We only waited a few minutes before the host brought us some. Our server, Michael was not to far behind to take our drink order. Michael wasn't the most personable server I have ever had, but he gave some standard suggestions and made effort to engage us. Our drinks arrived without issue, and he quickly returned with warm bread. When I asked for cheese to be put in the oil he looked confused, but accommodated my request. When our food arrived, we ordered refills on drinks and asked for A-1. It should be noted that Michael got double sat right around this time and looked to be a hit in the weeds. We waited around 7 minutes for A-1, and finally ended up asking the hostess. By the time we got the A-1, the steak was cold. It was cooked well though. We still hadn't seen our server at this point. The Romano sauce was way spicer than I remembered it. I ate probably a 3rd of it before my stomach just couldn't take it anymore. I flagged down a different server or host, and I sent it back and asked for the same thing with just Alfredo sauce. Michael finally arrived sometime after that. I told him of the situation, and re-orderded our drinks. I then ordered a meal to go for my sister who was still at home. That meal also had Romano sauce. His attitude then turned a bit snide. I assume it was because I had just sent something back that had Romano sauce and he didn't believe that I was bringing it home for someone else. The snide remarks continued through the rest of dinner and I felt really unwelcome by the end of it. The Alfredo sauce as someone else said left something to be desired. The meal that I brought home was loved by my sister. It wasn't nearly as spicy, and filled the nostalgic void that I was looking to fill. I am pretty easy to please and rarely write reviews but had to in this case as a public service. my hubby and I are eating Keto and looked at the menu to ensure they serve salads. Now, prices everywhere have gone up and we get it with inflation, but the menu offered a full salad for $19 or a 'half salad' for $13.99 plus $3 to add chicken. we each ordered a half salad with chicken. ok the positives: the server was very nice! The salad tasted and looked good. The negatives: When I say the 'half-salad' salad was the literal size of a small side salad I'm not kidding. This half-salad had maybe 1 cup of lettuce and very sparse toppings for $16.99 each. With prices going up, restaurants have to weigh down-sizing and raising prices. It's a huge mistake to cut value. We will never return to this restaurant as no one wants to pay $16.99 for dinner and need to go for a burger after. No wonder it had few customers in here. read more

Mold Need I say more. Okay, maybe I need to tell you what happened. My boss and I were visiting customers down in Albany. After our meeting we decided to go for lunch. "There is a Red Robin nearby," my boss said as we were passing Carino's. "How about that place?" I asked. "Well, let's try it but I normally don't try new places while I'm on the road," he said. Now I know why. We walked in and the place looked nice enough. We were seated and ordered drinks. The service was very attentive as we were almost the only people in the place. I order the cioppino (see the photo), the boss ordered some pastas. After some bread and oil dip our orders came. I took one bite out to the center white fish and --- MOLD --- I was really upset as my boss was there and they kept asking questions about the problem with the food. Love their chicken fiesta bowtie pasta with angelhair pasta instead of bowtie...however...I ordered off the lunch menu was charged dinner price got lunch portion...I ordered a margarita it came with what looked like a floater in it...they took it back brought me another...2 bits of what looked like floaters in this one...took my knife to remove it and it was stuck onto the glass...not floaters but dirty glasses not 1 but 2 then I looked at my water glass and it had something stuck inside it... FOOD POISONING. October 2021 My boyfriend and I recently went to Corino's for lunch today and our experience was not great. Our server Robin was fantastic but the food we ordered did not live up to the expectations. We ordered Jalapeño Garlic Rockfish Pasta and the Seafood Alfredo.. the Jalapeño dish was extremely spicy and unbearable to eat, it did not taste like what we've ordered in the past. The seafood Alfredo pasta sauce was too watery and had no flavor. My boyfriend has been nauseous and throwing up ever since we got home from our visit to Corino's. Waste of money. read more

Salad came out with croutons. No big deal, I took them off. She came back and checked on us, I asked for lemons for my tea. She repeated my request... and apparently went on break instead. This is definitely my best spot to eat gluten free Italian food in Oregon. I travel a lot for fun and like to adventure with finding great food. I tried their spicy chicken spaghetti and their gluten free pizza. Their lunch prices were affordable and I LOVED The food. In addition to this, the treatment of their waiter was amazing. I took a friend yo celebrate and this was the worst meal ever! The server even said, the cooks were not good, couldn't garrantee that they knew how to cook! When I recieved my chicken penne garganzola meal there was less than an Ounce of chicken! I picked it out , took a picture ! I had the server come look at it, she shrugged her shoulders, yep! The mushroom stuffed appetizer looked like green pond crud stuffed in the mushrooms! Gross! Nope! Yuck again! She credited the chicken, we ate the lonely mushrooms, showed her the crude, she couldn't say what it was! So very disappointed. I have pictures of both.
