The word that best describes our visit to Carino's is disappointing. The service was friendly, but slow, especially considering that the restaurant wasn't even half full. Bread was slow to arrive, and the salads were even slower. From the time we ordered, it was a full 25 minutes before our entree showed up, and then it was missing the cheese and had to go back. We had the family platter of chicken parm. The sauce was just one dimensional, with no depth of flavor at all. My husband said it tasted like canned pizza sauce, and I think that is an apt description. The chicken was under-seasoned, but at least the breading was crispy. All in all, there are much better Italian (or any other nationality, for that matter) retaurants to patronize. Two thumbs down. read more

We have always enjoyed Johnny Corino's, but this visit was scary and gross. The booth we were seated in had water all over the chair, and we had to ask to have it cleaned. Three bread plates, one was unwashed and disgusting. The salad. We all had the same Ceaser Salad and there was a large DEAD GRAY BUG in the salad. It looked like a wasp with no wings. I get the same thing every time. Make your own pasta dish and a salad. It's great. They over salt everything but, I notice because I don't use salt when I cook or dine much. I still say it's a good joint, the staff is friendly and helpful and the service is quick. Actually that's what cost them a star. Every server should know if a customer isn't finished with the salad don't bring the entree. Ask if they would like the app if ordered but give it time. Also the plates the salads arrive on are the same ones used in prison and schools same with the flatware. Step it up Johnny! Overall cheap enuff to overlook, fill up and be on your way. We went to Carinos today. We have craved it for over a year. I totally understand that they were understaffed and our server was probably new but service was not up to their usual standard. We sat over 30 minutes after 30 minutes waiting to be seated before our order was taken. We ordered stuffed mushrooms and were told later that they were out but they did bring us spinach dip instead. Food came slowly but it was good when we got it. We did have to ask for napkins several times and finally got them as we ended up our meal. Our tea came with no ice but they corrected it when we asked. When they were refilling the tea they gave us water instead of tea but again they corrected it. We got no bread refills, salads came out the same time as the meal. Saying this... I have to say that the food was good and it was good to be sitting there to eat again. My thanks goes out to the server who did what she could and want them to know we are glad they are back. Came for the margherita pizza, ordered, about 15 mins later server comes to say pizza was in the oven but they were out of basil! No apologies, didn't even ask if I wanted something else. Came here for a quick lunch and sat in the bar. They have an unlimited soup/salad/bread combo for $5.99 so I got that and an iced tea (the iced tea was $2.39, isn't that kinda expensive for iced tea? I could buy a family sized box of tea bags for $2.39 and still have change left over). Got the minestrone soup and the house salad with house dressing. The minestrone was very thin, almost watered down. The salad was good but reminded me of Olive Garden salad truthfully. Ate here with the husband on 2/6/15 because they were having a "Grand Reopening" with BOGO entrees and happy hour specials all day. The food itself deserved 4-5 stars, but our experience was what removes a couple stars. Service was very questionable. The place looked pretty packed and I was worried there would be a wait. We only had to wait a couple minutes. Our host asked us if one of the center tables would be ok. I asked if we could sit at a booth and pointed at one that appeared to be open. He looked at the table. Saw that there were 2 abandoned waters and told us that it wasn't ready. He does seat the NEXT couple at that table. It took forever to get any service once we were seated. A hostess noticed and asked if she could get us waters at least and apologized for the wait (points for her.) Once our server finally came around she was cute and personable. It took her awhile to bring our first round of drinks and we were waiting with empty glasses awhile before she took our 2nd order of drinks. The manager (who didn't look like he ironed his shirt) was standing around chit chatting with the staff. In all fairness he did hand deliver drinks from the bars including our 2nd round. We weren't impressed. We also did not have silverware on our table and had to ask our server for them once our salads arrived. The entrees were delicious! I ate all of my seafood pasta medley with the spicy marinara. My husband (who ate most of the bread) ate almost all of his combo skilletini. I ate the rest of his skilletini the next day and it was STILL good. We came to this location whenever there was a coupon (free appetizer maybe?) years ago and had a similar experience. Our server was bubbly and very accommodating. Our glasses were never empty. The menu prices were good as well. My only comment would be the booths. The banquette seat was too low. Table came up mid chest and my seat was torn and worn. It was very clean though and you can see the kitchen much like another Italian restaurant small chain. Dear lord I hate writing bad reviews but let's talk about a shit show... so this is my favorite restaurant too by the way.... so it's Sunday night me and my friends get there and it's a 10-20 min wait but really took about 30. We ordered drinks, (they do have really good margaritas on a positive note) but anyway this waitress didn't listen to what I was saying at all, I said "can I have a strawberry margarita with extra sugar, and she looked at me like she wasn't listening and I knew she wasn't paying attention. So she brings back 3 lime margaritas..... I sent it back, and asked for strawberry and she brings it back with salt. So I told her so sorry but I asked for sugar, she said ok I'll bring it on the side!!!! Like I wanted melted salt all up in my drink !!!! Wtf?, so my friend is like "no bring that back and make it how she asked" so she did. It was all melted and gross looking... so anyway then we order our food and salad and of course she brings my bowl up like "did you ask for ranch or balsamic?" And I said balsamic, so she turns around and brings the one she had back because obviously she had ranch.... anyway we got the food and it was all good except the waitress got all nervous from messing up and kept messing up more. We had to ask her to take the pile of dirty dishes..... wait wait it gets better.... never asked if we wanted desert and brings us the bill...we're sitting so then my friend pays with a 100$ bill and they came back and said it was fake. It didn't look fake to us so were were very shocked.... they say there was no strip... so they gave it back. Anyway we had more cash and paid. They didn't ask if we needed any to go boxes for our food so we had to go ask for two..... right after we went to a gas station and they checked the bill with a pen. IT WAS REAL. I was extremely pleased with the service this location gave us on Thanksgiving Day. I had a large party and we were all treated with excellent customer service. The managers (Gloria, Michelle and Jerry) were all helpful in answering my questions in the planning stages. The server (Amanda) we had that evening was very friendly, courtesy, paid attention to details, had lots of energy, and assisted with anything we needed with a calm and courtesy demeanor. You could tell she was an exceptional and experienced server, who made the entire event great! The appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts were all fresh and delicious. Large portions of food allow us to have plenty of leftovers to take home and enjoy later. My guests and I truly enjoyed our dining experience and we plan to return!! I am impressed and certain I will be visiting again soon. Our server Lin greeted us immediately and had my beverage out within seconds. The restaturant was so full. We waited 40-45mins for our food to arrived but t'was all worth it. I ordered lasagna and my husband ordered skilletini and it was really good. Lin checked on us often to see we had what we needed. My mom and I came in on a Friday evening about two weeks ago. We came in about an hour before they closed. It took at least 10-15 minutes before our waiter even acknowledged we were there to ask us what we would like to drink. He never asked if we would like some bread, so we had to ask! We weren't checked on between the time of ordering to when we received our food or after. However, he went to the tables around us on multiple occasions. I'm usually very good about tipping, however, his service fell very short. This is not the first time I have received this type of service at this restaurant. We went in last Friday. It was not busy and we were seated quickly. Then we waited. And we waited. They were obviously understaffed that night given the amount of time we waited for drinks and food. And it was not packed!! And at one point our waitress was too busy talking to a personal acquaintance to come over to our table to check on us; she just yelled across the section. The wedge salad was very good although the pecan praline was too sweet. The ribs were overcooked and slathered with sauce to make up for it. The honey-pecan salmon salad had too much vinegar in the vinaigrette. We went there to please the child, but we won't be making that mistake again. read more
