    Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza
    Fellman B.

I love Johnny Carino's...especially when using the app and signing up for texts. They offered a free thin crust pepperoni pizza. They sent me this text: "WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY Thank you for signing up for the Johnny Carino's email club. You will receive special savings, offers and be the first to find out about what is new at Johnny Carino's! Enjoy the offer below as our way of saying thank you for joining!" I went there after a 13-mile run and was very hungry. I showed the offer, and they went to prepare the pizza. Within 12 minutes, it was ready and looked delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance in the restaurant is nice, but I took the pizza home and devoured it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The toppings were delicious, and the crust was nice and crispy. I encourage everyone to join the app texting and receive special offers!

I was still looking for it to this restaurant. Ours closed down probably 12 years ago. I didn't know that they were still around. We ordered the skillet with sausage turns out there was more grease and there was sauce not impressed. I JUST CAN'T

    Baked Cheese Tortelloni

Arrived shortly after 4:00 pm today. Not crowded only 3 tables (including ours) had customers. Ordered baked tortellini supposed to be served with meat sauce. The sauce looked like thousand island dressing without meat. Once our food was served our server walked by our table 4 times and not once did he stop to ask how we were doing or how was our food. Our server finally came by asked how everything was and when questioned about the sauce for the tortellini, he said they get the regular meat sauce and mix it with Alfredo sauce. In my opinion, not a good idea. Since I returned the back tortellini dish, our server gave us credit for that dish.

This was one of the worst restaurants I've ever eaten at in my whole life. The service is absolutely terrible. We were served with PLASTIC CUTLERY AND USE AND THROW PLATES. There was hair in our STYROFOAM CUPS and there was zero ice to be found anywhere. A few other tables got actual bowls for bread but instead we waited 20 minutes, finished our food then FINALLY they gave us bread on a plastic use and throw plate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restrooms oh lord are disgusting THERE IS SHIT ON THE TOILET SEAT.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Like who even manages this place to make it this bad. The food has no flavoring, and the chicken tastes like it was from a can. The meatballs were mediocre and dry, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the whole restaurant is disorganized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Cheese ravioli, add mushrooms and tomato
    Christina R.

This was our first visit to Johnny Carino's. We arrived around 8PM on a Friday night and were seated immediately. Our server (Hayden) brought us super hot fresh (as all bread should be haha) bread while we waited. The moment we finished it he brought out more which I thought was really impressive. We were getting full on salad and bread before our entrees even could arrive I really wanted a mushroom ravioli but couldn't figure out what I was craving. I ultimately made a custom cheese ravioli which our server was happy to do and it turned out amazing. See photos of my cheese ravioli, add mushrooms and tomato I wish the mushrooms were whole/bigger pieces instead of tiny pieces but it was so savory and awesome anyway. It was served with a layer of cheese on top that was browned and crispy like on a pizza, the kind of gooey cheesy that makes your mouth water. They should totally add a vegetable ravioli dish like this the menu. While they do have vegetarian options, I felt like this restaurant was not super vegetarian-friendly/forward (Italian diet/cuisine really doesn't contain all whole lot of meat) but that is the case with most restaurants in the US. Adding a vegetable/vegetarian section would do a lot for the menu/restaurant and reach more customers. That said, they still have options. My partner had the lobster ravioli which was decadent. I also tried her house salad and the ranch was excellent, creamy without overdoing it (I am super picky about ranch). The ranch was so good I overall preferred the house over the caesar salad. We ordered a Bellini (it's frozen, not what I was expecting for a Bellini) and the Amalfi strawberry lemon, would definitely order the lemonade again, very refreshing. Overall a lovely experience. We'll be back!!!

Instead of basic customer service, I was met with attitude, irritation, and eventually being called "bro" and spoken to disrespectfully in front of other people. They have a tiny parking lot which is OK for smaller shows, but they will charge you $20 to park at bigger shows like Juvenile tonight or Psych Fest. The only other parking option is in the residential streets about 5 minutes walk down the road. But I feel extremely bad for the people in those homes who were there before this venue started doing big concerts. With that said...it used to be a cool little bar with a large covered tent stage and they decided that wasn't big enough. It's also sooooo far South. They charge a 20% "TIP" automatically on every bar purchase. So an IPA was nearly $17. Unless C3 or Live Nation has bought them this is just insane. While this is legal...if it's mandatory, it's not a "tip" under IRS rules -- it's a service charge. That means it belongs to the business, not automatically to the server. That's F'd up and they need to change the language on that.

This entire place feels like a cash grab following the mezcal trend. It's positioned as being a tequila/mezcal spot but their drinks are more basic than cocktails I can order at the airport. When I asked questions about the mezcal they use and offer the bartenders replies were always dealt with either annoyance and limited info or just an "I don't know." Plus it's $$$ you tip on top of the tip they already add but say nothing about? The basic cocktails that are known as Mexican street vendor drinks (not supposed to be $$$) can cost you over $20 alone! Then to be shady about tipping ... cash grab without a good experience. The there's the atmosphere... very limited parking shared with MANY other more busy bars, super loud inside because of no soft surfaces, and the worst part of all... the bench seats are built just tall enough that unless you're super tall, you'll have to sit at the edge of the bench and actively practice good posture. This more than the other things makes me want to leave immediately. You designed a bar to be pretty but in no way functional to its use. It's been a while since my last visit and honestly I chalked all this up to Austin's trend chasing entrepreneurs typical disconnected launch until I had AMAZING cocktails at another new spot that truly impressed with their same priced cocktails that were far far more intricate and creative PLUS they didn't try to con me out of more tip AND their space was warm, and inviting with truly exceptional customer service. That experience reminded me that inflation isn't the only thing making life more expensive ... it's also businesses delivering far less value than promised and demanding we are supremely grateful for their limited effort. If you don't want to leave the neighborhood but you still want a somewhat decent margarita .... it ain't here. Pay half the price at Bodhi's in the same parking lot.
