I ordered my cheesesteak whit on a toasted garlic bread roll. While I waited, everyone in line was getting free samples of their house-made habanero sauce. Apparently, they go through 15 gallons of it every week. More on that in a minute. I took my cheesesteak over to Death of the Fox Brewery. Why? Because the two breweries that were closer happened to be closed. Their loss, my gain. I love Death of the Fox, but that's a story for a separate review. First, I sampled the meat, cheese, and onions by themselves. Pretty darn tasty. Next, I tried a bite on the toasted garlic roll. Very pretty darn tasty. Then I added the habanero sauce. Now we're talking. Very, very pretty darn tasty. If you've followed my cheesesteak adventures for any length of time, you know I'm not exactly a hot sauce guy. I was expecting some serious heat, but I'd describe this as more of a sweet habanero with a pleasant kick. Best of all, I suffered no repercussions afterward--a minor miracle. The cheesesteak was excellent, the garlic roll added another layer of flavor, and the habanero sauce tied everything together. We went to wait or without on a whim because we happen to be in the area. I did not realize how close we were to Philly and we were going to take the drive. However this place in Jersey was recommended so we took a chance I am not big on Philly cheesesteak but my husband Loves it so we went ahead to try it. The place is a typical takeout type restaurant, No Frills and nothing fancy there were benches and tables outside where we sat. My husband ordered a Philly cheese with mushrooms and peppers and I cannot have gluten so I ordered it without the bread. The sauce was highly recommended so we did purchase a side of that. My husband enjoyed his sandwich. I basically got a container filled with meat. I was hoping for some more peppers but all in all it was OK. It was too much meat for me so I packed it to go however I never got back to eating it. The service was fast and courteous. I don't recommend this place if you're gluten-free but if you can have a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, then go for it. Don't believe the 1 star review. And personally think 3 are weak too. This place rocks! Small family owned business and they work hard. But the best is the sandwich. I'm in town for work for a week and a half and found them. 1st time I was blown away. Had the BG55. Not a big Whiz fan and it has provolone and American. But BIG dices of onions and bacon. BIG sandwich for $18. Lots of tender steak and the sauce has a slight bite to it. Not hot, but noticeable. All I could do was think about how good that thing was - so I went a 2nd time and got the BG55 again! They got more sandwiches than you can shake a stick at. Only down side is it's take out only. A great spot that we stopped at on our way up north. It's about 20 minutes off the turnpike, so if you're on a tight schedule, keep that in mind. The shop is tiny but cute and there are a couple of picnic tables outside. We got the Phillthy bowl and Angry Phillthy sandwich. We asked for a regular sandwich but didn't realize until afterwards that we were charged for and got the XL. Both were HUGE and we had leftovers. I wish there was some explanation in the store of what the different sandwiches were, that would have been helpful. But very delicious! read more

Haven't been around this area much in years, but was looking for a cheesesteak and was out doing some shopping and this showed up. Cute little place, friendly lady at the front counter, only bad thing is no inside seating, but there are picnic tables outside, decided to take our cheesesteaks home. I live in Jersey and heard about this place, but never went out of my way to find it. Today I found it by accident. I see the sign and I had to go in. This is a traditional South Philadelphia cheesesteak without the ride with a little more meat and an outstanding sandwich. The quality of the meat is outstanding. The sandwich is truly traditional. My nephew and I visited for the first time today and we were both impressed by the outstanding customer service, ambiance and genuine Philly decor inside. Real Veteran's stadium seats are a very nice touch! And the food was outstanding! We ordered regular cheese steaks but I'll experiment a little more on my next visit. Should have just stuck with a cheesesteak like I originally wanted but I couldn't turn down trying the Buffalo chicken cheesesteak!! I will say first that the sandwiches we got were PACKED! Unfortunately, I was highly disappointed in the chicken. I've gotten this same sandwich at a few other local places and I have never seen them use dark meat. The meat is chopped into small pieces, which is nice if it's all chicken breast, but it wasn't. I had a few bites and just couldn't eat it. There a lot of fatty pieces, or too much for me. This is a personal preference though, I know some people don't care. I'm thankful someone let me have some of their cheesesteak which was really good. I would also skip the fries. Heard great things about this place and it did not disappoint. I've had great cheesesteaks on both sides of the bridge, and this competes with the best of NJ and Philly. I ordered the OG XL and also a plain cheesesteak with American cheese. Both sandwiches were packed and had great rolls....a must! The OG XL ended up being cut into threes for reluctant sharing but it was perfect at that size. I can say this is a definite bang for the buck but the bonus is great quality at the price.
