The store has the donuts, tea and coffee but also doubles as a convenience store with some other packaged goods, snacks and beverages. So I grab an apple fritter, buttermilk bar and tons of maple items: maple bar, maple crueler, and maple old fashioned. There was a massive chocolate bar I had to ask about. It's twice the size of your standard donut bars. The attendant stated it like a celebratory donut instead of a birthday cake! When I finally tried a bite, I was pleasantly surprised the donuts tasted fresh! Like all of them! To get a fresh tasting donut on a Sunday afternoon feels like finding a $20 bill on the street. I love donuts and I know a good one when I taste it. Crystal's corner is a donut shop with all its usual suspects, but for me, there's only 1 kind I'm looking for. The standard glazed donut. I went there with high hopes because of all the good reviews and high star ratings but honestly, I could have done without. My reasoning, the donut had a lingering off putting taste which I suspect is the oil it was cooked in. It was not a light and fluffy donut, but rather a denser bland tasting donut. And lastly the glaze on the donut was on one side only not both sides, and not enough on it. Not to be ignored there was no yummy vanilla taste to it but a rather bland sugary flavor. It could have been better...in my opinion. Full disclosure, I tried nothing else there. Maybe you will find something to your liking. Enjoy!

I pass by the one on Guerneville Road at Fulton quite a bit, but having not been there before, it wasn't on my "food map". My bad... I finally got myself in there, and have to say I was blown away! It is a donut shop/restaurant, so the atmosphere is pretty casual, but don't let that dissuade you! The donuts are excellent, but the Cambodian cuisine is STELLAR! I love Thai, Lao, Vietnamese, and I especially love them if they are spicy! I hadn't had Cambodian before, but it is my new favorite! I tried the lemongrass beef, and it was so spicy, fresh, HOT, and SPICY! So fresh and delicious! It was a little bit of a wait, but so worth it to have freshly made, perfectly prepared, piping hot food! One serving more than two of us could eat at once -so very good value!
