$800 of overpriced parts and worthless repairs

Like most people, it's not like me to leave a one star review. Now, I know the economy is in bad shape and businesses are having tough times, but Johnny's thoroughly ripped me off on my repair, and just have to give a little warning if you are planning to take your car here. Although I don't want to hurt any business, I have to say that I brought my car to this spot to get my car fixed, and while they did do some work, the work they did, did not last, and I was also overcharged. I had a 420 (and believe me the price to fix was high) and 430 error which is due to either a faulty catalytic converter or o2 sensor. To avoid replacing my costly catalytic converters (my car has 4), we replaced the o2 sensors first. I was charged over $800 for everything. In a matter of a couple months, the lights came back on. Sure, it might be something else. Now, I didn't mind paying the $800 if it were fixed, however, I overpaid for my o2 sensors, which did not last for even 2 months as the o2 sensor errors came right back on. And how do I know I overpaid? Well, I paid $800 just to replace the o2 sensors at Johnny's, while that's exactly the same price I paid to completely replace both catalytic converters at another muffler shop! The other muffler shop also repaired my o2 sensors, charging me $100 per o2 sensor, where at Johnny's, I paid double (for the back) to QUADRUPLE (for the front) the price vs what I paid at the other muffler shop! What more is that I was told that my o2 sensors would be replaced with factory ones, where after looking today were denso (non-factory) o2 sensors. The dishonesty comes in where I was told that I would be getting factory o2 sensors, where I got the cheaper generic ones, but still paid full price and some for factory ones! Before coming here, there are better, more honest and reliable shops. Attached is my receipt to show what Johnny's charged me.

Jose pulled out the computer and diagnosed my car on the spot, which I've never had a mechanic allow me to witness.

I stopped by Ten-Four auto today for a smog check…read more Walked into the office and was met with a clean space and cool air-conditioning. Was helped by a courteous gentleman at the counter, and within 3 minutes handed over my keys and sat down in the comfortable waiting area as the crew went to work! Closeout was a breeze as I signed my name on the invoice then paid for services with Apple Pay. Will definitely be back to Ten-Four Auto.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My sister brought her…read morevehicle to Ten Four Auto for a power steering leak. Instead of fixing the actual problem, they upsold her over $2000 worth of work, and returned the vehicle still leaking- actually worse than before. Because my sister had to leave town, I personally dealt with the shop afterward. They kept the vehicle back and forth a total of 4 weeks, during which their clearly incompetent technicians couldn't identify the source of the leak. After all that time, they suddenly claimed they "found" the leak and of course, wanted even more money to fix it. Ricky, the so-called "manager," was fake, dishonest, and straight up lied to my face. He claimed they never touched the reservoir that was leaking - which is impossible, because that part must be transferred when replacing the power steering pump they already installed. This shows their complete lack of knowledge, or intentional dishonesty. The vehicle was NEVER FIXED, and I had to take it to another shop. What we did get was weeks of wasted time, money burned on Ubers going back and forth, and nonstop gaslighting instead of accountability. This shop preys on customers who don't know cars and just try to upsell, deflect, and lie when things go wrong. Educate yourself before taking your vehicle to ANY shop, but most importantly-- AVOID THIS ONE. Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish.

I needed to replace my front and rear brakes on my 2018 Equinox. I received many different quotes…read morefrom other mechanics, quoting me over $300 for labor only. I reached out to Refined Auto with the same request, and it was a more reasonable price, especially since I had no idea if I needed to do anything to my rotors. My dad was present while Cesar worked on my car, and my dad gave me such a glowing review of how Cesar worked. My dad has not been able to stop talking about how Cesar did an amazing job on my car, how clean he works, how he keeps his tools, and his communication. My dad was so impressed with the quality of work Cesar provided on my car that he decided to get a quote for replacing his rotors. When Ceasr finished on my car, he let me know that my brake fluid was not in good condition. He drained my brake fluid and replaced it with new fluid. He explained to me in detail that brake fluid should not be topped off. I had no idea, and apparently, my dad didn't know either, and we had topped it off because it was low. Now, I know, for future reference, that when it's low, I should replace my brakes. I appreciate the work that Cesar did on my car and his communication. I will absolutely use his service again and recommend him to friends and family.
