    Scrambled eggs and potatoes

Four stars because my scrambled eggs looked like a chopped omelet. Services was great, friendly and efficient. Love the look in this diner with the old diner feel! Bright lights overlook multiple booths and a few tables.

2 Egg Veggie Omelet with Hash Browns

Stopped in for breakfast before heading back home. The place was packed but we were seated quickly. I ordered a 2 egg veggie omelet which was loaded with goodies. The hashbrowns were the best I have ever had. I requested mushrooms and onions. My boyfriend ordered the Meat Lovers Omelet with order of hashbrowns with double onions. He thought the same as me.....AMAZING!! We chatted with Johnny for a bit. Had to let him know how much we love his food and his staff was great, too! We will be back when in the area and highly recommend!!

Adorable decorations! I ate food too fast to get a pic

5 stars for friendly service, one of the owners was awesome. Food was ok not a ton of seasoning or flavor could have been what I ordered. Everything hot fresh to order. I will give them another try and get something different.

    Philly cheese chicken

Had the Philly cheese chicken. Small portions, flat pop, lack luster service makes this experience a one and done. Price does not reflect the quality.

We visited The Barn for a work event and had an overall great experience. The bar was fully…read morestocked, so no concerns there--I ordered a sweet cocktail that I really enjoyed. We also had a couple bottles of wine at the table, which were good as well. For appetizers, we shared oysters, meatballs, and shrimp cocktail. All of them were good, but the meatballs were my favorite. For my entrée, I ordered the prime rib. It was a bit saltier than I would have liked, but the sides helped balance it out. I really enjoyed the corn and mashed potatoes, and I also added mushrooms and onions, which helped offset the saltiness. In hindsight, I kind of wish I had ordered the filet mignon, as I suspect it wouldn't have been as salty. The bread at the beginning of the meal was also really good. Dessert was a standout--I got the turtle cake, and it was huge. It's definitely the best value on the menu. Three of us shared it and still couldn't finish it, though that may have also been due to the amount of food and drinks we had throughout the night. The food did take a while to come out, but the service remained good the entire time. We expected dinner to wrap up around 7:00, but we started at 5:30 and didn't finish until about 8:30--there were 16 of us, so it was understandable. Overall, a solid experience, especially for a group event.

This wasn't fun at all, the service was decent, but our waiter had an attitude. The vibe it was loud and smelt that's all i'm saying. Overall It was maybe 1.5/10.

Fred's Diner is a sparkling diamond of a place that so many locals I mentioned it to were still…read moreunaware of. That's mostly due to location. It's less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Akron but it's off the beaten path. All locals (except me) in here. When I went (10AM Friday) the place was almost full, and I was dining alone, so I sat at the counter, happily next to the kitchen. To look at the kitchen was like looking inside a bee hive, bustling with activity but barely a sound. I could just make out what was being calmly stated "2 Silver Dollar, Salmon, Country Fried, 2 Over Easy..." It was fun to watch, but what was important was the output. It took just over 6 minutes from the time I order until it was sitting in front of me, and everything was perfect! The waitresses were so efficient. I saw my order hit the window and in about 12 seconds it was delivered. They were so customer focused, they were (jokingly) fighting over refilling my tea. When I was done and paid for I waited outside for Uber to pick me up (3 min). I looked back on what I'd just experienced, and snapped a picture of the two parking lots of cars for Fred's Diner. I counted and there were 32 cars at Fred's. OK maybe 10 were staff so 22 cars for customers, let's say on average there were 2 customers per car (remember I walked here so no car for me). By my calculation, Fred's was feeding 44 people every 30 minutes or so. No wonder they're only open 4 days a week and only for breakfast - lunch. I calculate they might serve 3200 meals in those 4 days, and then take 3 days off to get ready for the next week. I love this place. Wish I lived here so I could come more often.

I particularly appreciate that they use real potatoes for their hashbrowns, not the frozen/freeze dried crap most places serve up these days. The service was great, coffee was strong, and our bellies are fullllll.

I had the Lemon Pepper Shrimp special and I loved every bite, also had green beans and Mac & cheese, great choice for sure. Beans were not over salty and the Mac & cheese was the best I have had in a while. Not overly cheesy as some are. My wife had the spaghetti with meatballs two large homemade type. She loved it and I was fortunate to finish it off. She also had a salad with freshly made ranch dressing. The she had the sugar free butter pecan ice cream which was to die for. The two waitresses are the bomb so very attentive and helpful always giving great suggestions. If you are near this town drive the extra distance to come here. Well worth the drive. They also take reservations on Thursday and Friday. Can you imagine that a dinner taking reservations. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED COMING HERE
