We visited The Barn for a work event and had an overall great experience. The bar was fully stocked, so no concerns there--I ordered a sweet cocktail that I really enjoyed. We also had a couple bottles of wine at the table, which were good as well. For appetizers, we shared oysters, meatballs, and shrimp cocktail. All of them were good, but the meatballs were my favorite. For my entrée, I ordered the prime rib. It was a bit saltier than I would have liked, but the sides helped balance it out. I really enjoyed the corn and mashed potatoes, and I also added mushrooms and onions, which helped offset the saltiness. In hindsight, I kind of wish I had ordered the filet mignon, as I suspect it wouldn't have been as salty. The bread at the beginning of the meal was also really good. Dessert was a standout--I got the turtle cake, and it was huge. It's definitely the best value on the menu. Three of us shared it and still couldn't finish it, though that may have also been due to the amount of food and drinks we had throughout the night. The food did take a while to come out, but the service remained good the entire time. We expected dinner to wrap up around 7:00, but we started at 5:30 and didn't finish until about 8:30--there were 16 of us, so it was understandable. This was terrible. I came here for my birthday and this was shortly after my grandmother died, I said I needed the food gluten free, and they still put gluten in it, Not only that but the restaurant smelt like feet, bleu chesse, and a dead animal. Dining at the Barn or Club is a crap shoot. Haven't been to the Barn since 2024. I spent $1000 for a group of 8 there and the food was not edible. Went to Club on Ash Wednesday for fish dinner. Deep fried cod that was mushy on the inside and dark brown on the outside. read more

We sat at the bar on a sat night. Drinks, beers, service all good. The food is okay. I had a classic burger which was fine but the fries were great. My hubs ordered a pastrami rueben and said it was just ok. If u want to watch sports, this is THE place to go. All around the bar area they have a ton of huge tvs. read more

I don't know how people can write a bad review about this place. Over the years we dined probably around 10 times. Couple times with friends and family but I enjoy more when it's a private event with my wife. We always celebrate our wedding anniversary in Walden. We do couple spa, dinner and stay overnight in the Inn. It becomes a memorable experience. The interior of the The Barn is very classy and elegant. Very cozy. Service is excellent. Some of the waiters worked there for years and they remember you. You have to be dressed up. As I mentioned before this place is very classy. They require jackets for men and appropriate clothing for women. You'll not be able to dine at The Barn unless you're a member of the club, you stay in the Inn or have a spa appointment. They have a very good wine selection and the full bar. Below are some of our favorites: Veal Tortellini, Lobster Ravioli, Veal Rib. Don't forget to check out their specials. Most nights it's bigger than the main menu. Their fish dishes are always outstanding. The Barn's executive chef Pete Dressen make this dining an experience, instead of just dinner. read more

Exceptional food and service. Due to Covid-19 they have reduced the typical capacity for seating and temperatures are checked upon entry. The chefs specials will entice your tastebuds so that you feel no need to even look at the menu. If you have the opportunity to visit I suggest you try it. read more

Sadly disappointed by the very built up Barn. This place tries to be super upscale but it's a facade because its significant lack of good service. They don't have a spirits list and they didn't bring the cocktail I ordered and didn't until I personally spoke to the bartender (who was very pleasant). My lobster bisque had a huge piece of shell in it and the waiter's response was, "Oh it happens sometimes because it's homemade." REALLY?! Then I ordered my meat medium rare and came out medium well. For a place that doesn't list prices on its menu, I was expecting A LOT more. UPDATE: Kate, the Director of Operations at Walden, comped the entire meal. We are 1000% satisfied with the outcome now and she was fabulous. Still won't be returning to eat there, but it was just another example of how great Walden is! read more

A fabulously intimate restaurant for Walden members. If you're not a member find one to invite you! This is an intimate experience with a lot of attention to detail. The menu items vary from season to season but the chef is excellent. He may be a little traditional French in his approach at times but the dishes are hard to beat. My wife and I went here for our 3rd anniversary last night. I ordered the blue cheese crusted filet and when the food came I let the server know that my order was wrong (honest mistake). What was brought to the table was the sliced filet with mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes. The server took the food away and was back pretty fast with the "right" entree. The server brought me a plate of sliced meat with blue cheese melted on top. When I questioned the plate I realized the kitchen had taken my old wrong dish, rinsed it off and put blue cheese crumbles on top, instead of cooking me a new filet which was not supposed to be sliced (or rinsed). Absolutely disgusting! I urge anyone who enjoys a good meal to NEVER spend your money at this restaurant! The management was very understanding and attempted to rectify the issue but at that point I had completely lost my appetite. read more

Great place to eat. Nice atmosphere and people. I had the Kobe tenderloin and it was excellent.

Unfortunately, you'll not be able to dine at The Barn unless you're a member. But a dining membership is not out of reach for many people. If you ever have a chance to go, you'll have a wonderful club experience in a cozy quasi formal atmosphere (jackets required for men still). The menu is old school continental, they have a very good wine list, and the cocktails are VERY generous. So generous, I'd warn against ordering a double. read more

I don't believe reviews of private membership establishments should be included in your reviews. I have lived in Aurora for almost sixty years and consider my few dining experiences at The Barn of Walden as very special as are the friends who provided me with those experiences, but, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone because all but an elite few must be excluded for they are not eligible to dine there. I am sincere in my compliments for The Barn but this is my opinion based upon my wonderful times there and my inability to return unless I have a "special" friend who "belongs".
