The first mini split condenser was fried and had signs of a leak. It was over 10 years old. He called Conor, a supervisor, to talk to us about a new unit. We thought given how busy everyone is that it would be weeks before we could get the split replaced. Conor was able to get to our house in about 30 minutes. Sage serviced the second split while Conor was in route. When Conor arrived he went through the options. We needed something soon with the heat we are experiencing. They carry Mitsubishi mini splits. They had a slot for Tuesday 7/21. We had done our research, so we were comfortable acting quickly. Both Conor and Sage listened to our concerns and made us feel like we were in good hands. For the day of installation Jorge and Aaron showed up on time. They were able to remove the old split and install the new one by midafternoon. Very efficient and respectful. They checked the system out, asked if we had any question or concerns. We have a 115-year-old home, and they were careful in our old home. Our experience with Bob Jensen Heating and Air was outstanding, and I do not say that lightly. Sage, Conor, Jorge and Aaron were great. We would highly recommend Bob Jenson to family, friends and neighbors, without a doubt. We ill add that they have 24/7/365 emergency service.

Marco came out promptly and spent a good chunk of his time investigating the AC to see what went wrong and got it working again. I did end up finding out post install that the AC cut-off box switch was failing and needed replacement. The heater had a manufacturing error where they had to reduce a part twice. Overall. I would consider the the plan more just prepaying certain services. They come check out AC and furnace twice a year. They now also include a plumbing inspection and water tank flush once a year which isn't a lot but convenient cuz I'm lazy. I see a lot of the bad reviews are about upselling and mention the home Depot deal. Found them through Google a couple years ago and not home Depot so I'm not sure if they send different people or what. With the plan they have been pretty consistent with calling and making sure I don't forget to do my scheduled maintenance and inspection. For a long time a guy name Justin came by the service me so they're always pretty consistent. Now it's switching over to Willie after a couple of years. For the service itself, they do take lots of pictures, explain things in details and show how your system is running objectively. They do help explain things in layman's terms if you're not familiar with it so the techs themselves are pretty good. Overall I would recommend for a customer focused experience that's pretty convenient.

A second company gave us a wide range of less ridiculous pricing, but no real answer to the issue and they never ended up coming back. With a wedding looming, we assumed we'd have to wait for the summer to save more money and maybe get lucky with some wedding gifts to help pay for it all. So glad I saw Surf Bros HVAC in the neighborhood and gave it another shot. Red actually diagnosed the issue on our unit, returned with the correct part on the same day, topped off our refrigerant, and helped me sort out the new controller I installed for way less than a thousand dollars. I'm sure this cut some costs with remove/setup, but based on some research this is ideal as the weather can get down below 40 degrees where I live. We went with GVK due to this, the fact he took the time to answer all questions thoroughly and honestly, and they were able to install the next business day; got a quote on Friday afternoon and scheduled me for Monday to install the new system. The price was also very competitive with the other options. We did have a delay in starting as they had a mix-up on install dates and had to postpone one day. However, George called and apologized and offered a discount for the mistake and to charge our current system to help keep the house cool until they came out the next day, which I think reflects how he runs a customer focused business. When he did come out that day I had more questions about the setup and based on our discussion we changed the coil for more flexibility in moving the unit in the attic one day. It was pretty clear that George runs a solid business; he double checked they left no trash after leaving, his workers made sure to set up mats everywhere they worked inside, they let us know when they would be using louder tools (as we have a baby), and they stayed until the unit was fully installed which meant they stayed pretty late. I couldn't recommend them enough. George is really easy to work with, does a great job on the customer side and also steps in to do the work himself which is all reflected in the impressive reviews he has.

Mr. Tapiz and his associates are what the uniformed service may refer as " squared away" Last year my neighbor referred him after he performed a hvac standalone/ multi zone installation in Ramona, CA. I then reached out to him to see if he would come by and perform an inspection and give me some suggestions concerning my lack of air flow throughout the house; keeping in mind the existing system was in good working order. Mr. Tapiz spent hours going through my giant attic space surveying all of the components. Afterwards he drafted up suggestions and sat and explained everything, followed up with a drawing to better understand. His suggestions seemed technical but easily understood once he explained and I felt comfortable he was not trying an upsell. Soon after he provided me with an exhaustive quote for service, which obviously took a lot of time in preparation; and I appreciated the clarity/ transparency of it. Well life happened and I forgot about Mr. Tapiz (Johhny), and a year later remembered his professionalism and time he spent talking with me and decided to give him a chance for my business. Not only did he make every effort for timely scheduling, he even honored his quote that was surely outdated and he absorbed some as a loss most assuredly ( though he never said anything). Mr. Tapiz (Johhny), came out and performed the job and as he initially stated "I Guarantee" that the air flow will be better; most assuredly it has been. Most companies do not make such bold stances, and he performed and stood by as a true professional. There was even a minor discrepancy left which effected the thermostat, and he quickly drove all the way out to East County first thing the next day. ( Please don't mistake what I said for a shortcoming either) Too be honest with you all, I usually do not write reviews, but was compelled by this man's demeanor, customer service, professionalism and humility; he undoubtedly deserves every 5 star review you see. I had received proposals from 2 or 3 other companies. A&B instilled the most confidence and I just got a good vibe from the team. Marty & Dustin made a couple of visits to explain what needed to be done, replace 2 of the 3 units. Within a couple of weeks I had a couple of 5 Ton glistening new Bosch units installed and running. The installers Dave & Tyler showed up on schedule and, with the help of a crane, within a couple of days the work was complete. During the process both Dustin & Marty were present and even came by a couple of more times to make minor adjustments and explain a few things about what I can expect from A&B in the future as it relates to always being available to come and make things right if there are any issues down the road. My review is 5 Stars and it truly was a 5 out of 5 experience. When the time comes, they will be replacing my 3rd unit which still has a few years of life remaining...hopefully. Additionally, when I open up my 2nd floor ceiling for an open ceiling look as part of my remodel, A&B will be handling all of the ducting work required to transition from flex to solid ducts, return & supply installs, etc. I don't take the time very often to leave reviews but the team at A&B earned it.
