Just tried for the first time and had an excellent experience. The service was fast and our waitress was very friendly and pleasant. Great selection of low priced comfort food items and a fair variety of beers. We started with some bite-size corn fritters with ranch dressing. Then for the main course I went with the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich with creamy horseradish and waffle fries on the side. The sandwich was very tasty and so huge I couldn't eat it all and brought the rest home to snack on later. This is a good place now... what do I mean by that? Well now that the smoking ordinance is in effect you can actually see in the place. It has a large number of tv's and my kids like going. I honestly can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review for Freddy T's. We've been big fans of this place going back to it's original owner and opening maybe late 80's/early 90's. I'd guess with no exaggeration that I've been a customer with friends and family in tow well over 600-700 times over the past 3 decades - I like this place a lot. Freddy T's has a solid menu - Burgers are cooked to order and delicious. You can sub a side salad for fries with your meal at no additional cost which is nice, and they have a good burger special a couple of times a week. Fred's also has great home-cooked meal specials - chicken fried chicken, a great steak, baked potato and salad special at a reasonable price, and any of their other weekly specials are very tasty. T's loaded nachos with grilled chicken are some of the best nachos you'll get anywhere in KC in our opinion. Really if the dish sounds good to you, it will be good - never had a "bad" dish ... Regular weekly drink specials are available in addition to the food specials. Service is prompt and very friendly - staff are pros who know what they are doing and most have been working at Fred's for years. Fred's is very kid friendly. You'll see young families with babies to families with teenagers mingling among a cadre of regulars. Excellent sports coverage is available with plenty of well placed televisions. Music, pool and some video games are also available. If you've not been to Freddy T's you should check it out - I bet you'll like it. I enjoyed my first visit to Freddy T's. My Monday open faced roast beef lunch special ($7.99) was served in about 12 minutes. There was a nice amount of tasty roast beef, with delicious mashed potatoes and good gravy. The service was friendly, and attentive, while the dining area was clean and comfortable, with good background music. The Monday $4.99 burger with side lunch special was also a very good deal. Nice place to see the game. They have several large screen TVs and many more smaller ones. The place is clean and nicely decorated. The service is friendly and attentive. The Philly steak was huge with a ton of meat and flavor. The flavor is ok, but I am certain that they cook the beef with soy sauce or something else. Freddy T's is the kind of place that is a destination spot, its situated directly behind a McDonald's in a strip mall and its not the kind of place you would just wander into. I doubt the patrons mind this. The atmosphere indoors in dimly lit and I imagine this place gets packed for broadcast sporting events. The staff is personable and very prompt with beverage refills. Moving outdoors to the patio provided a much more comfortable way to enjoy the day, company, and libations. WARNING: Do not walk out on your tab. You will be remembered. For a very long time. While this did not apply to me it did to a gentleman attempting to stroll in during my visit. A large shouting match between said gentlemen and bartender moved out to the parking lot and just when physical violence seemed imminent the defendant hopped in his beat up Grand Am and rode off into the sunset. The bartender informed us he skipped back in December. Not the kind of place you bring someone you're trying to impress, your immediate family, or small children, be advised. When it came to pay the bill (and you best believe I won't ever forget to do that here): Strong Ketel & Soda+ 2 MASSIVE beers = $13.00. Nice. We couldn't have gone to a movie for less then that and this was far more entertaining. read more

He LOVES the potato soup, says it's the best he's ever had (even better than mine, watch out there buddy)! And OMG a bowl of soup is huge! My salad was a basic side salad but the ranch is clearly homemade! Potato skins were hot, big, cheesy and tons of bacon! Yummy! I haven't eaten the philly yet, took it togo because I was full. This is a nice little sports bar located in the back of a strip mall. It is very easy to overlook this spot. Just so you know its a sports bar, there are a lot of TVs all on different games and sports channels. The inside is quite dark. When I was here, it was during off-hours so there weren't too many people inside. Ordered their sandwiches, all of which were good. The French fries were great. Their menu is basically standard bar food, lots of sandwiches and the like. Price on the sandwiches and drink ended up about $11/person. They serve breakfast items on weekends until 2:00. If I was less hungry at the time, I might have gone with one of those items. I am rarely in this area, but I might stop in next time I am in the area. read more

I come here to eat wings. It is a dive and I don't quite get how they operate. But I do really really like the wings. Especially the blackened ones. They have crammed as many tables as they can in the place. The bar sticks out. No place to wait. And the worst part is the door locations. If it is winter, you wait up front and freeze your tail off. In the second room, they have door for people who want to go out side and get cancer. So that door is opening up all the time to where you get the benefit of the weather AND smoke. I can't remember exactly the year I started hanging out at Fred's but I know in 2007 I started working there part time off and on until 2015 it's a place a part of me still calls home. I have not lived in the area since 2017, I miss the food and my "Fred's" family! If you stop in ask for Mary and give her a hug. This place has potential: two pool tables, pinball, darts, big buck hunter, even a racing game. Unfortunately they found ways to disappoint. Onion rings could have had more crunch, but what was truly disappointing was the serving size. I have seen larger portioned free samples. Ordered a bloody mary, didn't get a single olive. Didnt get any vegetables at all (or even a glass as big as the one in the photo). To top it off, the pool table didn't dispense every ball. But at least there aren't stains all over the felt. I used to come here all of the time to play pool and enjoy their beer. The last few times I visited I had the worst service. The older man who bartends was always extremely rude. When we asked for our check he ignored us, told us to wait because he wanted to slow dance to a song with another server. We had to wait 10 min for our check. Pretty typical neighborhood bar & grill. We order take-out from here all the time during football games. They have tasty wings & sliders. I like to order the wings chargrilled. The corn nuggets are tasty - sweet, creamy, corn filling deep fried & served with ranch dressing for dipping. The pork tenderloin is huge, but not seasoned well, so it tastes pretty bland. The only flavor in this sandwich comes from the mayo, onion, and pickles. There are better bar & grills out there, but this place is convenient & usually hits the spot. read more
