Then I noticed that the anchovies we ordered were not in our order. It was not on the side, as we requested, nor was it on the pizza. This place is a gem. Ordered a Sicilian with extra cheese and roasted peppers. My 86 yrs old mom who is very vocal and picky about food, and service loved it. She was beside herself and said in her heavy accent, "this pizza is sooo good I want to take the rest home" and she did. Although delivery was across town it was quick. Also noticed driver took good care of my food. Unlike other places I recently ordered from, the cheese, peppers and sauce was intact and did not slide to one side of the box. Presentation was beautiful, extra cheese meant extra, beautiful red peppers and crust had perfect crunch not soggy, every bite delicious and at expected temp. I'm from out of town and have been pitched by a number of residences that the place to try is hands down John's Caffe & Pizza & Santillo's. We went to John's and had some sandwiches and pizza. Food is ridiculously flavorful and big portions. All 5 of us loved it and would highly recommend it. We met the owners as well and they are incredibly friendly and sincere in their approach to customer satisfaction. Top notch. Now for the dinner side of things we had Santillo's. Not much to speak of except for one word - garbage. We get that cardboard pizza at the food court mall. Maybe it was an off night for them but there were seven of us at the house that tried the regular pizza pie and we were all highly disappointed per what the locals were saying about Santillo's. purchased an extra large order for a job party, hot wings and bbq wings came dry and not fully cooked. (sauce is on the side and not on wings but not stated on menu.) pizza crust was hard. everyone at the party complained about the wings so we tried to get a refund on at least one of the four orders that was made but assistant manager did not care. told us that wings are double fried and couldn't be uncooked. expected us to bring wings back after they were already distributed. no i don't recommend this place for catering orders. read more

I just ordered delivery from John's and it came exactly in the time frame they told me over the phone, when the food arrived it was still hot, and every request was made! I thought I couldn't be happier until I bit into my California Cheese SteaK that I ordered and became overwhelmed with happiness. I requested provolone vs American cheese and for hot dryers and ketchup to be added and instead of just throwing them on they actually added the peppers to the meat making this sandwich that much more better!! Update: Almost two years later and I'm able to add a star to my previous rating. This time around I ordered a personal cheese pizza: still delicious and lives up to New York (east coast) pizza. Thin, crispy crust, mild sauce, and perfect amount of cheese. Onion rings (served in a bag; the way fried food should be served instead of locked in a tin to sweat it out and get soggy) were like a higher quality version of Burger King O-rings... Cheesesteak sub with peppers onions and mushrooms- the best way to describe it, would be "perfectly Skanky" it was chopped, greasy, cheesy, and the bun was perfectly unsoggy. Still not the perfect cheesesteak, but it's got potential. Finally; the fettuccine Alfredo + chicken..It was very ON point for what i was looking for.. A bit skanky.. Pasta was al dente and thin (which I appreciate) the sauce was creamy, cheesy and flavorful, and the chicken was thin strips of REAL chicken breast, grilled and the fat and knobs trimmed off. (Wish I added broccoli to this) The remaining star will be reserved for when they finally start reading the order slips and "add salt and pepper packets please" my number one complaint with takeout and delivery is when you specifically ask for things like extra salt and pepper, or blue cheese, or ranch, or whatever you rely on the dress up your items, and not only do you get extra, you end up with none. I just ordered from here and let me say, it wasn't what the reviews made it up to be. The young lady on the phone was pleasent but the food was not done. I ordered a large pie and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks weren't even crispy on the outside. Also the color of them weren't the normal golden brown color we all love, it was a yellow color. The pizza would of been better also if they let it cook to. Bottom line a few extra minutes in the oven/fryer wouldn't hurt. read more

Problem: A two hour layover at Newark and a fundamental issue with being in New Jersey and not having good pizza. Solution: John's Caffe. First off, the menu options are plentiful, the pizzas I ordered were very tasty and the sub was on point. But what makes this a five star joint is they literally brought pizza to the airport for me. The driver met me outside Terminal C and I was back inside in 5 minutes. Now, I'm guessing they don't want people to make a habit of this -- and I ordered outside the busy hours -- but this was some top notch service. If I can give zero stars I would. Owner called me after I tried calling several times and no answer. I've waited for my food over an hour and nothing. I contacted the restaurant twice grub hub did as well and we did not receive a response. So grub hub issued me a refund. The owner calls me screaming saying that I asked for a refund. Yes I did sir you didn't have the courtesy to even pick up your phone when I was calling about my order. I have children I'm not going to wait until you decide to deliver. Secondly he screamed over the phone saying I can no longer order questioning me if I knew what's going on in the world. Sir you do not call my cellphone screaming at me. You should have the courtesy to call your customers and let them know you can not make it at a given time. I also am a store manager and I know about customer service. And you calling my phone harassing me is not going to work. Work on yourself and how you treat your customers. I would have waited but no one answered my calls and my kids are hungry. The owner was extremely unprofessional. I do not recommend ordering from here. They are nasty and rude. I've never been treated this bad. I'm not even that type of person. If I would have been able to speak to someone I wouldn't have canceled but my kids come first!! To the owner: you are very nasty and believe me I would never want to order from you again! To Geovanni i wouldn't take the time out to write this review if he wasn't rude. He was extremely rude. I understand we are in the middle of pandemic. You should communicate that with grub hub !
