This is NOT the best burger nor does it come close. Sorry not sorry! The burger was cooked to the right temp inside but was VERY charred. Gross. Chicken Cesar was very mid as well. The service was strange, rude, & very unprofessional. They were literally playing rap music the entire time. We asked to change it to anything else. The host said okay, NEVER said anything & continued playing the music. Despite the managers knowing this issue, no one apologizes or thought it was strange. This American Legion Hall turned restaurant is said to have the best burger in town. It's a very good burger indeed, but can't say whether it's the best. The salads are very good particularly the Romaine wedge. The Kale salad however is just one big bowl of kale and nothing else, so while it might be a good option for rabbits one would expect more in a salad. Sag Harbor Tavern (or should I say "Lack luster Tavern") My boyfriend and I have been so excited to try Sag Harbor Tavern for quite some time and boy were we disappointed. We made a reservation a few weeks back for a party of 4 and all of us were so excited to try the food as we are familiar with Red Hook Tavern. Prior to our reservation I had checked out the menu online and I was elated to see the fish and chips! However, as we were being seated we were told that the fish and chips, and the clam chowder was sold out! So from there I decided I would order the wedge salad and a side of fries; the server told me she could not sell me fries as the restaurant was running low and they were saving them for customers that ordered sandwiches! (Well I wanted the fish and chips and you were sold out!) I should be able to purchase fries if you have them in stock! I was completely baffled that I could not order anything that i traveled all the way from Manhattan to try!! The majority of the table had the hamburger which they said was good. I just find the restaurant to be a complete disaster! Example: We all ordered martinis and the server told us that they do not put vermouth in their martini and when the drinks were delivered there was 100% vermouth and we could all taste it! We would never come back to Sag Harbor Tavern! As we are all disappointed by the entire experience. Hopefully Sag Harbor Tavern takes this feedback to heart and makes some serious changes! read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I went in as a solo diner. There was no hostess at their stand, so with the little amount of customers already inside the establishment, I figured I could seat myself at the bar. Ya know, since at most restaurants that's considered okay. OH HOW I WAS WRONG. Not only did the hostess decide to make a scene and try to embarrass and degrade me for being solo, but the bartender seemed to NOT WANT TO DO HER JOB.
