However, when utilized as a way to help others to discover goods and services that could have quite easily gone unnoticed or to reward those who deserve praise, Yelp- more often that not- inspires me. Today, because it was through Yelp that I was originally able to realize that Cattails was a shop capable of exceeding expectations, I have been motivated to inform others that such an amazing little flower shop indeed does exist. A friend of mine who is planning her wedding and suddenly found herself the foremost expert on floral shops in Chicago first told me of Cattails' actuality. Naturally, I turned to Yelp to confirm her suggestion that Cattails was the florist for me. What I found was exactly what I had hoped to find, sparkling reviews regarding both customer service and the overall quality of the product that they put out. This review is far, far from contradictory. As a man I have come to understand two things: 1. Flowers on Valentine's Day are an integral component to ensuring peace and tranquility between you and your girlfriend/spouse/whatever. 2. I know absolutely nothing about flowers. I know that they look pretty/ smell great and that their power over the opposite sex is something that even modern science is incapable of understanding, but beyond that my knowledge of flora is ultimately lackluster. I know not the names of all flowers or when to find that certain varieties are in season. Fortunately, understanding #2 was not a problem with Cattails. My order was as simple as giving them a call, setting a ballpark price that I felt comfortable with, suggesting that there be a presence of "yellowness" in the arrangement, but otherwise agreeing to give them full creativity over the assortment, and communicating my credit card information (a process which took no more than five minutes). When I heard the excited tone on the other end of the line, I knew I had made the right choice. Ultimately, the bouquet that had arrived at my doorstep was far more beautiful than I could have ever tried to construct myself. Thank you Cattails. You have not only made this Valentine's Day one to remember, you have made me look like a guy who "gets it" and one who will certainly be a returning customer.

They grow and sell ten varieties of the most beautiful, long-lasting, and unique poinsettias that you can find in northern Illinois. And this year, they offered a lovely, double-petaled variety that is upright and almost looks like a rose. The people are friendly, the greenhouse is big and beautiful, and they sell Christmas trees, greenery, wreaths and other holiday trimmings. It's a wonderful place out in the country. Yes, you can probably get bigger poinsettias at a big box store like Home Depot, but they will not last as long or be as special. And after your done at Kolzes, drive a bit north and stop in at Woodstock's downtown square. It's really beautiful, and it was where the movie Groundhog Day was filmed. It's a Duesy! From what I see not their website, I am sure that Kolzes is great during other seasons, too. I just love supporting small, family-owned businesses.
